    Dubai Chocolate Fried Oreos today
    Andrea V.

Casa Dulce in Johnston, RI is an absolute gem! We recently ordered the Dubai chocolate fried Oreos, and a few days earlier my son tried the Dubai chocolate mini pancakes. I can personally speak for the fried Oreos--and they were to die for. Perfectly fried, warm, and covered in rich Dubai chocolate... honestly some of the best dessert Oreos I've ever had. My son said the mini pancakes were just as delicious and may actually be his favorite. While I didn't get to try those myself, if they're anywhere near as good as the Oreos, they're a must-try. The exterior of Casa Dulce is absolutely adorable, complete with a little gingerbread house out front. It's tucked away off Putnam Pike in a small plaza right before Uncle Tony's Pizza, making it a charming little find. They also offer a variety of coffee drinks like lattes and cappuccinos, which I definitely plan to try on my next visit. I couldn't wait any longer to come on here and write a well-deserved review. Amazing desserts, a cute atmosphere, and clearly a place that knows how to do sweets right. Highly recommend!

I ordered the Peppermint Mocha Chai and it was delicious and arrived with a cute mini candy cane on top (not pictured because I ate it before remembering to take a photo). It was definitely on the sweeter side, which I liked, but might not be for everyone. The cashier was super sweet and friendly and drinks arrived quickly. Throughout the morning there was a steady stream of customers, but I didn't notice anyone waiting too long. It wasn't the quietest environment for working since there is music playing all day, but I didn't have meetings so noise wasn't a problem. After working for a while, I decided to get lunch as well. I love the avocado toast here because it's always flavorful and reasonably priced at $6 for 2 slices. It did have a decent amount of red pepper flakes - not an issue for me but something to be aware of for anyone who doesn't like spice. This also arrived quickly and was on a cute colorful plate.

Luckily, they do have a large space with lots of tables and some couches so finding a seat wasn't a problem. Their menu includes drinks and food (breakfast and lunch). My friend and I shared the BOM sandwich which comes on a Portuguese BOLO with gruyere cheese, roasted red peppers, onion, spinach, BOM sauce, chorizo, and fried egg. For our drinks I had a cinnamon crunch iced coffee with whole milk and coconut cold foam and my friend had one of the coff-tails. I took in all the artwork around the walls while I waited for our order to come out. They brought the sandwich out to us, but I went up to the counter to get the drinks. The sandwich was incredibly good, especially the BOM sauce that was a little spicy. The sausage was thick and well cooked, and the veggies tasted fresh. The bread was very good too but I wish it was slightly toasted (next time). My drink was good. It was not sweet at all, which the cashier did prepare me for, but it still tasted good to me. The milk and coconut cold foam made it very creamy and the coconut flavor was very present throughout. We paid around $20 for the sandwich and two drinks which is fair. They have a drive thru window on the left side of the building, with the line wrapping around the back of the building, with plenty of parking in the front and back for dining in.

Four of us had lunch including Pho, lemongrass chicken with rice, garlic chicken with noodles, and pork plus egg with rice. The flavors were bright and authentic and the presentation beautiful. This is a family operation and it is obvious that they care and want to deliver an authentic meal. Because the food is prepared freshly, wait time can be a bit long but it is definitely worth it. This is a no frills place that offers great food and at a reasonable price. Will definitely be back.

The chef and owners are Vietnamese and the menu is spot-on authentic. Even my parents love this spot! We've ordered take out a few times now and sat in the restaurant once. The dine-in experience is cozy, with only a few tables., but the employees are kind and efficient. Now the food: legit. The pho has the right fragrance, and the portion is just right to ensure you're full when you're finished. If you're craving a Banh Mi sandwich, you'll be in luck! They are well-balanced, with the right cuts of meat and seasoning, depending on which one you order. I'm a big vietnamese smoothie lover (sinh to), and they make it perfectly. Absolutely thrilled that this restaurant is here and cannot wait to keep ordering from them!
