Quick drop by to try their specialty señorita bread while we were in Torrance. It wasn't busy but the staff greeted us quickly. We ordered a 10 señorita bread bag. Our bread was piping hot and fresh. The sugar and butter is nice and melty when you get it hot. Flavor and taste was on point. Very solid treat. I finally tried the famous señorita bread here and it was good, but I wasn't super blown away by it. I visited the store on a Saturday morning and the shop wasn't too busy. Walking-in, I loved seeing all the branded boxes and unique bakery items with all the Filipino flavors. I bought 15 señorita breads for $12. Each bread was small, but nicely sized. The bread I had was hot, fluffy, buttery, and sweet. It was great and I get the appeal, but I personally didn't find anything special about it. Maybe I need to eat it more. Stopped by recently to pick up some goodies for a group. Was kindly welcomed in to the vibrant and super clean bakery with Halloween decor and themed desserts on a weekday afternoon. There were several choices of the popular senorita bread already bagged on the counter or the option to have some made to order which some customers opted to do. There were also choices of bagged bread ready to go in either ube or original pan de sal. I chose ube pan de sal and cream cheese senorita bread for the group I was gifting to. They were all delighted. Pan del sal actually means salted bread but it is just a tad sweet. It is a staple bread roll for breakfast in the Philippines. Their parking is shared with Papa John's and a dental office. There were several spaces available. Great goodies here and kind, efficient gal at the counter. After trying Starbread at a relative's house, I was so happy to find a bakery bear me! The bread is buttery, sugary and soft. It's made fresh daily and service is fast. The bakery itself is very simple; the decor is all Starbread boxes. We arrived right before closing and purchased the last 10. I hope to return soon and purchase more! Lol It's my understanding that the family that owns Starbread created the señorita bread from an old family recipe. Señorita bread has a sweet and buttery inside and is dusted on the outside with a very light amount of brown sugar. ***WARNING*** These are incredibly addicting and I dare you to just eat one! While the bakery primarily serves the señorita bread, they do offer other pastries. Honestly, I can only stay focused on the señorita bread! They do offer the señorita bread that have fillings. Some of the fillings include Ube; guava; Nutella; and cream cheese, just to name a few. I have purchased the plain señorita breads, and the ones filled with Uber. Both are absolutely spectacular! I have only been to the Carson location, but I understand that they have several throughout the southern California area. The Carson location is very nice, clean and has a really nice staff. I purchased 20 pieces of senorita bread from this store, drove 43 miles back home. I then opened up the box and counted 3 times and it's only 18 freaking pieces. The employee probably ate 2 in the back kitchen before handing the box to me waiting at the front counter. Who knows. I don't penny pinch, but come on it doesn't matter if there is a long line or a few customers make sure the customer receives the correct order. There were only 2 customers behind me. One of my acquaintance told me about Star Breads so I had to try it, the appearance on this baked batch is uneven in color and a few skinny ones, overall the filling inside the bread barley has anything. Not my first time having senorita bread, but first time at Starbread Bakery. Wanted to buy a box for my coworkers and decided on about 40 pieces. Glad I decided to order more because we definitely ate more than 1 each. Walked into the bakery right as it opened and there were a few people waiting in line already. Eventually got my box and it smelled like buttery goodness AND IT TASTED EXACTLY LIKE THAT. It had slightly more sugar compared to the one I had in Daly City, but nonetheless still DELICIOUS. As soon as you open the door, you can smell the freshly baked breads and pastries. Yuli the young lady at the counter was so sweet and she helped us out with our purchase. Thank you Yuli! We picked up a 20pc Senorita Starbread, a 15pc Senorita Starbread, Bavarian cream malasadas, guava malasadas, mango malasadas, ube malasadas and 2 chocolate donuts. They were all so delicious and you can taste the different flavors. Definitely not too sweet. The Senorita Starbread were all baked so fresh and they were hot off the oven. I love coming here. It's usually easy parking, service is nothing special but usually pretty quick. It's clean and the señorita bread is just too good, always comes out hot and delicious. I could literally eat 10 pieces in one sitting. I haven't tried any of the other stuff but it looks like it might be good too. They have a few savory pastries that I might try in the future. It's nice that it's affordable, so I can pick up multiple boxes for my office or for my business accounts. If I'm in a rush I just call ahead and it's a breeze to pick up. I've been at various times of day during the week and it's never been busy, max three other customers. I can't speak for the weekend though. The discovery of señorita bread occurred years ago. But that was in NorCal at what seemed like a mom-and-pop brick and mortar. And they were popular then, so I suppose they boomed out and finally made it to SoCal! Yay! My family had a gathering of sorts so Cuzzo decided to bring some. There was a wait, mostly for the señorita bread, so it's safe to say it has gotten popular here as well. But the staff is good and ready. There were about two, maybe three big orders (for these specific bread) ahead of us, but we were outta there in no time. And it is how I remember it: warm, fluffy, buttery, soft chewy bites! And I really like the way they sized it. Small enough to be filling but not big enough so you don't feel like you're eating more than you should! (Not sure if that makes sense, but...) FOOD: 5. SERVICE: 4. As busy as they were, they sure got hustlin'! VALUE: 4. 65 pieces for $40 is a bargain. PARKING: Small lot OVERALL: 4.25. So glad they're available here!
