I have enjoyed Casa Humilde beer at the "by the ounce" District Brew Yards, so last weekend I was excited to finally visit the stand-alone Casa Humilde location in suburban Forest Park. Our party of four happened to visit during their 1-year Anniversary celebration. Their outdoor patio was bumpin' with a live DJ as we were savoring pitchers of their award-winning beer - Maizal (Mexican style lager) and Pinata (hazy pineapple IPA). They were not serving the regular food menu that day, but thanks to their cool-looking "train engine" grill they were serving tasty carne asada platters. Decided to make a stop in while in the area, and I am glad that I did. Service was very friendly from all staff encountered, especially Jess behind the bar. I went with their ale flight. All of the beer on the flight was tasty. My fave was the pinata that had pinneapple in it. For food, I went with the chicken quesadilla dinner. The chicken was only ok, but overall the food was super tasty. The rice and beans were very flavorful. The beans were more of a pinto bean soup. Parking is a little strange. A couple of spots in front, more across the street. They turned their parking lot into a patio. However, very close to public transit. read more

We stopped by Casa Humilde for the very first time this past week. We greatly enjoyed the experience. The selection of beers was excellent and there wasn't a single one. We tried that we disliked. Food was extremely tasty with the wings, tacos and queso being standouts. We sat out on the patio, which meant that service was kind of a choose your own adventure experience with orders happening from a QR code located on the table. Ambience was nothing crazy but a nice low-key spot to enjoy an afternoon. read more

Came here after a local 5K for the grand opening. Loved the vibe. Mexican with that upscale brewery feel. I like that they seemed to keep a lot of the decor, but they made it their own. No sense in recreating the wheel. The space was really beautiful as is. And they added all of their own touches. I love that they had a bunch of activities lined up to provide entertainment for such a special day. Beers were great - there was something for everyone. One friend tried the mango Michelada, which looked delicious (and she loved) I had an IPA with a hint of pineapple. A few people had some of the more traditional lagers. This is a brand new brewery and restaurant in the old Exit Strategy location. But it's been completely revamped inside. This is Casa Humilde's most recent location. They have made the inside more airy and open, and they're setting up the patio nicely. More seating than before and a great a vibe. We came here for the neighborhood soft opening and were blown away. The beers are great and true to form for their other locations. We only friend their chips and salsa trio, but they were amazing and I can't wait to try everything else. The salsa have some heat (I'd say "Midwest hot"), so start slow, but I'm sure you'll be diving in quickly. The staff is amazing. Super friendly, attentive and willing/able to get you exactly what you want. I'm sure this place is only going to get better as they hit their stride. And if that's the case, it's going to be amazing because it already rocks! read more

Had high expectations for this fairly new tacoria / brewery. The beers been good so far before they opened but sadly not sure this will be a regular for us. It's exciting to see a Mexican owned brewery in the Chicago area. They seem to take great pride in that as well as the quality of beer and packaging is top notch. The problems come with other areas. Mainly the food and parking. They are located on the outskirts of Forest Park. Many others have been out that way before including another brewpub in the same location before them. This side of town is forgotten about. It's off the beaten path. No other drawls around it. So it's missed by the general public easily. Nothing seems to make it out that way sadly and the town of Forest Park doesn't invest in that area either it's clear. When you can find a parking spot, you'll enjoy a large modern clean brewpub. Some nights they have live entertainment. The staff seems to be nice and helpful as well. When it comes to the food, that's where it really lacks. $7 for 1 taco!? Single shell. Not overly loaded with toppings. And luke warm. We tried a few different kinds and they all were similar. $13 guac!? Nope. Again not bad flavor, except for the pumpkin seeds on it, but not a large amount at all. $22 for a taco dinner!? Nope. Maybe they're testing things out. Trying out the market and seeing what people are willing to pay and accept but for us, it's a no go. Too many other great taco places around way cheaper and less hassle. read more

Visited for the first time on lotería night - if you don't walk out a winner, you've seriously bad luck. Had the most amazing experience! Great service from start to end. After being warmly welcomed by the host, I grabbed a seat at the bar, where the owner/bartender provided friendly service and yummy cold beer. Don't skip on the food. Everything was delicious, but the steak tacos were my favorite- so tender and flavorful. read more

I'd been familiar with Casa Humilde as part of District Brew Yards. I'd had many of their beers over the past 6 years that it's been there. I was happy to see that Casa had just opened its own location out in Forest Park, where Exit Strategy Brewery used to be. I'm glad something new was able to go into a space, especially a brewery. They had all their flagship beers from DBY available on draft. If there were any new ones I didn't notice them. It's a cool look inside, lots of Mexican decor. They had some food options available, not a whole lot, a bit on the pricey end. Staff all seemed cool, for sure the bartender that served us. They have their own small parking lot, or street parking is pretty easy. I'm not opposed to coming back, especially if they have some new beers to try. read more

Amazing beer, food and service! Biggest issue was trying to figure out what amazing dish I wanted to try first! We came here with our 9mo old for a quick bite and it was perfect! Music wasn't too loud (I know, I know...) so we could hear each other talk which is always a plus for us! They had the sweet 16 games on so if there's a sporting event you want to watch this could be your place! The menu isn't massive, which I like, no decision fatigue here, and everything we had was so so good. I had the chicken mole tacos, my husband had the al pastor quesadilla and we ordered the guacamole to start! We got the dinner option so our food came with beans and rice, normally I'm not a huge fan but the Frijoles Charros were incredible! Our little one hate everything up! Unfortunately after one beer little guy was ready to go so I only got one beer, the Marina lager was crisp and refreshing. Perfect compliment to the light spice of the mole. First visit to Casa Humilde Cervecería tonight and it was really great. The beer was incredible, the food was delicious and the staff was so incredibly friendly and attentive. They had coloring pages for the kids and were very tolerant of their existence haha I had to leave to put the kid to bed but the wife and friends are still there as the band is kicking up on the patio! Very happy to have this new addition in the neighborhood. The beers were tasty and they were friendly and accommodating to our family (2 adults and 2 kids). Recommend the beet taco (on the app. menu, I believe) and enjoyed my beer flight. Appreciate that they seem to be hosting a fun variety of events. One complaint- the food is pretty expensive, like 7 dollars for an average size taco. We spent 100 bucks and left hungry. Hopefully they'll run some more food specials in the future. read more

My husband and I tried salsa trio (each better than the last with homemade chips that were extraordinary) and all tacos except for fish. Coming back for one of those and the burger! We were excited to try this place out after seeing it on the news and living in the area but unfortunately Very disappointed in the whole experience. 1. Be aware that there is "service fee" for being part of a big party: defined as 6 or more (not a gratuity but an extra charge) 2. tacos: arrived cold, like literally tortilla and meat cold. $7 per taco, only one tortilla. 3. Service: our server was not pleasant at all. When informed about the cold taco she said it just came out and if you don't believe me I will bring the chef to talk to you with the biggest attitude and when the second person stated their taco was cold she refused to take the tacos back until I went to go talk to the hostess and the chef. 4. They kept saying that because we were a big party they were trying to accommodate us, mind you the place was not busy at all at this time and apparently that was reason for not getting our food hot. 5. Very sad to say that we felt our server was being racist towards us for being Hispanic when this is supposed to be a Hispanic owned establishment and she herself was Hispanic. Monse was our server and she stated "I knew you guys would be a problem from the moment you walked into the door." Which showed as she gave us horrible service and then said "Hispanics are the worst at restaurants they just try to make it harder on other Hispanics" Unfortunately did not have a chance to enjoy the 2 flights of beers we had ordered as we had to try to plead to get us hot tacos not only with her but with the whole staff, I know we liked the beer Diego. Nobody ever came to apologize for the bad experience we had received, nobody informed us about the service fee of being a big party and nobody told us that being a "big party" meant no hot food for you. read more

Food was really good & tasty. We had the pastor tacos and the flautas that had potato and rajas. Both very good! The pastor tacos were some of the best I've had! Service was so quick, 5 stars! When we walked in, the host asked us if we were planning on eating because the kitchen was closing. We told him yes and it was our first time there. He checked with the kitchen and they were able to accommodate us. We had a beer flight & the parcha seltzer. So good! I took a 4pack of the seltzers to go. Ambiance is laid back.
