I eat here once in a while with my in-laws who live nearby and they are regulars. When they sit down the servers bring them their drinks along with the chips and salsa without them having to order. I like that. The service continues to be decent, but not fast, throughout the meal. The food is decent, but nothing spectacular, but the prices are definitely good. I can't remember what I ate on previous visits, but this time I went with beef flautas and they were good enough, but nothing to write home about. Maybe could use some more seasoning. I liked the rice. It was plain, but decent flavor. They give two salsas, one is a liquidy one and one is a pico de gallo. Neither are all that to me, although the liquidy one is spicy. I don't really care for the guacamole so much. Not sure why. Overall, this is an okay restaurant with okay food and okay service. The in-laws LOVE it, so you might, too. It's a local neighborhood place where they get to know the regulars, which is nice. I like it alright, but I can take it or leave it. What can they do to get five stars? seriously? I've eaten here 3 times. This is the last time. The last two times the service was terrible. I've worked in the food industry for over a decade and I know what to expect. I understand being busy, but that is no excuse for ignoring customers. Quality service means making sure that all customers are happy with all purchases. I do not feel comfortable waving down employees for things, but that is the only way to get anything at this establishment. I am upset that asking for extra napkins or limes is never brought to the table, either. If this company is so busy, I suggest napkin dispensers and extra help. When I asked to speak with a manager, I was told that they were only in on Fridays. That is unacceptable. If a customer has a complaint, then they ought to have a superior employee to speak to. My first time here. My initial thought of this place it's loud with music and people jabbing about. The decor screams bright red, sunglasses needed kinda brightness. The staff sat us right away, service was fast and friendly. I had the Mares soup with seafood, it's huge I had to share it with my girls. The soup flavor was delicious. ( make sure to squeeze lime and add cilantro for yumm ness) . I thought the menudo lacked flavor, and it had a grainy flour taste to it. But my son liked it. There's never really a line because the servers here are quick! I always eat a simple carne asada plate. YUM! I have been going for years. Over the last 2 year the food and service has went down ALOT. Last night I went and got a beef soup for take out. Came home to pour it into a bowl and it had a dead fly in it. I called to ask for my money back and the Manger at the time said "No we can replace the soup" I told him why would I want the same soup I just found a dead fly in? This WAS our go to spot every Sat sometimes twice a week but never again. Here's why... they give a complimentary chips & salsa but beware, the salsa most of the time is spoiled as well as the pico de gallo so always smell them before you eat them. Normally I brush it off and don't eat the salsa but this time, the food was spoiled.. and this was not the first time. This was our last because they gave us spoiled salsa, spoiled pico de gallo, spoiled tacos dorados & spoiled caldo de res (cocido) in one get go. The meat in the tacos was spoiled and blue & smelled really bad. I even told the waiter to smell it. The caldo de res (cocido) tasted like they had used sink water and tasted like chlorine. And to top it off... after we told the waiter about the soup, he apologized, & said oh idk why they're still giving it out when other customers had already complained about it and had it returned. Went we went there several years ago they were very attentive , I went there with a party of five around 11:15 6/1/23 they were not busy and we were seated at a table chips were served right away but that's as far as it went no water no waiter we were ignored we tried to flag them down and they all looked straight ahead like they didn't see us finally one of the ladies went to the counter and asked if we could have drinks we waited a long time again like about 15 minutes before a waiter showed up 2 of us asked for soda one asked for coffee and 2 asked for water we waited another 25 minutes no waiter to ask what we wanted to order again we tried to flag someone down they looked straight ahead as they passed us one of the ladies went to the counter and said we are ready to order finally 20 minutes later a waiter comes out we ordered and thankfully the food came out in a reasonable time by then we need more drinks especially the coffee we tried to flag them down again just a small hand movement they looked pass us nothing finally my sister got the attention of one of the waiters and asked for more chips they never came back our water was gone the sodas were gone the coffee was gone no chips not waiter to refill now we are done eating and no checks tried to flag them down they just looked straight ahead especially the one with the handle bar mustache we were seated at a table next to where they come out at , one of the ladies went to the counter and asked for out checks oh yeah they came out right away . The food was okay, but the beans were runny and cold no hot plates there, the chili rellenos were good but I wish that they were warm I will never go back we wrote them a note on a napkin saying to be on the lookout for our yelp review we saw the waiter read the note and laughed, oh and we were finally able to leave around 2 p.m. read more
