First time here. I guess they've been open for about four months now. Drinks are very expensive, so we ordered water! I started off with a guacamole, not the table side, so make sure when you're ordering guacamole that they don't give you the tableside because it's double the cost. The guacamole was OK, not enough pico mixed with it, no onion, no cilantro, and very puréed. The salsa was a bit too runny for me, not my favorite. I ordered a chicken dinner that had onions, mushrooms, and cheese on top with a side of refried beans, scoop of guacamole, and some pico de gallo. It was good, but very salty. My friend ordered a taco salad and as you can see in the picture, there was hardly any lettuce. I tasted it personally I thought it tasted like how I would imagine dog food tastes. She doesn't like to complain so she didn't say anything. I would have. If asked if I would come back, the answer would be no. There are too many other really good Mexican or Tex-Mex restaurants out there to go back to this one. read more

New Mexican restaurant in the Vue hotel on US19 in Palm Harbor. Hearing mixed reviews I went to see for myself. I give them a solid 3 1/2 stars The exciting decor and vibe invites you in and makes you want to stay. Bright, colorful, fun, Day of the Dead Service was attentive. I will say walking in and watching servers walk around there could definitely be a more inviting behavior than there is but as far as having my order taken and delivered, no complaints. Food: Food was decent to good. Nothing that blew me away and I've definitely had better but still pretty legit and worth coming back. The classic margarita which I got for free with a Facebook coupon and was undrinkable. Really really bad. I've had not so great margaritas I would still drink this is the first margarita I've had where I just couldn't force myself it was that bad. Price: I got the chimichangas that These were good but very small especially for $20 There are other places in north Pinellas with much larger portions for less. If I come back I will probably get something different or only come for the specials that are more reasonably priced. While I was there somebody ordered the margarita flight that comes in the airplane and it included an entire show that was fun to watch. But they want $30 for it!!! Typically a flight of any kind is $12-15 I get the margarita flight at Bahama breeze all the time for half that price Overall it's a great addition to Palm Harbor and worth a visit My understanding is they also own Taco Quila in Clearwater read more

Amazing new spot for excellent Mexican food in Palm Harbor. We were greeted warmly at the door, and led through a bright vibrant dining room to our comfy table. We had chips and salsa (if you as for the hot salsa...it IS HOT!) to our table within seconds, and were quickly greeted by Diego. He did an incredible job all night long, and was just full of energy and great vibes. We'd prob ask for him again he was so good!! We were there for happy hour, so go the 2 for 1 margaritas....and they were tasty!!! We also had their fajitas, which were ample enough for us to share (unless you're really hungry). Would like to have some shredded cheese with the condiments plate, but everything else was perfect. The interior was super bright and festive with tons of beautiful murals and colors throughout the area. The lights could be a LITTLE dimmer, but we loved the feel of the inside. We were greeted with smiles and friendly faces. Quick to seat us and very helpful to tell us about the specials. Monday was a bogo night with fajitas and margaritas! Deigo was our server and he's was the best! The manager offered us the "HOT" sauce over the mild sauce that is offered with the chips. WOW! Hot a delicious flavor with a hint of smokiness. DELICIOUS!! Our fajitas were fresh and very hot with full flavor and char on the peppers and onions. The decor was extremely colorful and well done, nice tables, bright, red seating, etc. the murals on the wall are gorgeous!! They're having a grand opening on Sunday 1/4/2026. We had a coupon and tried their tacos. The restaurant is beautiful with vibrant and bold paintings on the wall. There are different sections inside and outside. We had a table outside and were entertained by the alligators and turtles swimming in Lake Tarpon. Food was seasoned well. We will be back to try items off the menu. Celebrated two birthdays yesterday with a party of 8. A new restaurant - fantastic. Loved the atmosphere. The entire staff is fun and friendly. The drink and menu has a large number of selections. Our food was simply delicious all the way around AND OMG, the portions are very large. We had about 7 go home boxes!!! Will be returning and spreading the word on this new (4 months open) restaurant. read more

Went there with my daughter tonight to support our new latino local restaurant and were not disappointed. The ambience was better than expected with a water view which was a surprise to us. Larger than it appeared online..the margaritas were amazing, the food was delightful and priced reasonably. Now as far as the staff was concerned, Mateo , Jose and our waiter the young man who was so pleasant ..these wonderful people made us feel like we were at home. When I'm hungry for lunch or dinner I don't typically think of going to a hotel but this place is on a canal leading to/from Lake Tarpon in Palm Harbor. Boat docking was adequate and accessible with the water levels up and the weeds minimal but that can always change. The interior decor is very vibrant, bright and authentic Mexican with plenty of seating. We ate lunch with family that were visiting and everything we ordered was hot and fresh. The menu is extensive and I have never seen a drink menu with so many choices! Our waiter was very attentive and the food came out quickly. I would recommend anybody in the area to give this place a try! The only criticism I have is the entry when coming by boat could be improved, we had to step over a rat trap to enter the building. read more

I have eaten here twice since the Tarpon site opened. This is a great location near tarpon springs, easy parking, but easy to miss as the Hotel connected is the most visible from 19. The food is good, but pretty much like every other Mexican restaurant in the area. Service is excellent but as it is new most servers use English as a second language and that has caused some "order errors" that are happily and quickly rectified. If I had to comment on anything that needed more attention.... The chips...last night some were stale and no salt or flavor... try harder as this is the first food offering after being seated. Most Mexican RR around here offer chips that are really just off the shelf products. Perhaps be original. Here The salsa is good, both mild and spicy but the chips...2 out of 10... Summary...try it, nothing to blow you away but good food, friendly, quick and reasonably priced. Hope it succeeds I will be back. read more

absolute awful food but the waitress was very nice.we sat outside and the only atmosphere was the water view.had the Monday special fajitas which had no flavor and the meat was dry.wife ordered enchiladas alacarte which they charged 4 dollars for and had no seasoning at all.The meal was served in 3 minutes which makes me question how much work the microwave is doing.i will never go back I can make the food at home tastier and cheaper.by the way 5 bucks for an iced tea that's crazy. read more

My husband and I visited Casa Mateo for the first time. Ambiance is nice and bright. Greeted and seated right away. We tried the Spinach Chicken Enchilada and it was surprisingly delicious. We plan to come back by boat with our neighbors. It's definitely worth trying out especially if you have a celebration event. read more
