    Uptown Theater seating

Nice venue to see the Oak Lawn Band in concert. Clean and comfortable seats. Great renovation of an old movie theater. Free and easy parking. Concessions were reasonably price for this type of venue

Went to the Uptown a few weeks back to see a good friend perform in Sister Act the Musical. Parking was across the street. Few restaurants in the area for those looking to dine before or maybe after a show. Nice set up had the old time feel to it from the ticket booth to the lobby to the concession stand with the fresh popcorn and bar offerings to the theater set up with ample seating for great viewing of the stage. Nice sound system everyone could be heard and the acoustics were wonderful. The play was great and the lead actress was AMAZING! Well put together. Outside in the lobby there was a showcase of artwork by local artist on display. Glad I was able to make it out and look forward to visiting again.

This place is a hidden gem I think. Just by visiting one time here I became a fan. Honestly there does not seem to be a bad seat in the place. The theater is a nice size with cushioned seating. The stage is plenty big for whatever kind of show they are doing there. What really stands out to me is that they place is very open to sharing with the local School District. The GP district is big on Arts and alot of talent gets to be shown off here which is a HUGE thing for kids. There is plenty of room in the lobby for art shows or whatever. I hopefully will be able to go to many different things here in the upcoming years with my kids going through school in the district. This place is like in the middle of town on the main strip and parking can be tricky but if you drive around a bit you can find it no problems. Thank you Uptown for being a huge support for your local school's.

Nice, clean community theater with adequate parking. The manager and employees are very accommodating and friendly. They have a concession stand that sells popcorn, candy, soda, water, and alcoholic beverages which you can bring inside the theater. From the layout, it appears all seats would have a great view of the stage. Attended the theater production, "The Little Mermaid" with my granddaughter. The cast was excellent. The cost for tickets was very reasonable. At times, during few of the songs it was difficult to hear. I look forward to the next summer musical at Uptown Theater in Grand Prairie.

This is really a nice theatre with a community feel, small and intimate all the seats are good. First visit was for the Hank Williams tribute show, here today for the Cab Calloway Review. Clean and modern restrooms. The Texas Family Musicals are well-produced with excellent performances!

Uptown is a theater that has been converted into a theatre. It has an art gallery vibe to it but with popcorn, candy and alcohol. There is stadium seating and really no seat is a really bad seat as the space is small and intimate. The host was warm, welcoming and witty. He did a wonderful job of introducing the actors and getting us even more excited about the musical we were about to see.

Amazing experience!…read more We saw a concert last night at Arlington Music Hall. This was our first time here. TICKETING We found the concerts we wanted to see on the Arlington Music Hall's website. Then we initiated our purchases online through their ticketing agent - Eventbrite. We got a confirmation via email from Eventbrite. TICKET SAVING We downloaded the Eventbrite app and were able to download our tickets into our Apple Wallets on our iPhones. Perfect! PARKING There is free street parking in front of and around the corner from the venue. There is a lot and ramps within a block or two that are also free. Winning! DOORs vs SHOW Our show start time was 8pm. Doors for this show opened at 6:00. We were not able to go into the theater portion of the facility until 7:30. We arrived around 7:00. LOBBY, BAR, SNACK BAR There were staff members in the lobby scanning tickets for entry and that went fast. You may stand in the lobby area to wait for the theater doors to open, but the space there is limited. Behind the lobby is the Bar and Snack Bar area. There are a number of small, round high-top tables to stand at and there are cushioned bench seats along two long walls to sit on. The Bar also has some tall chairs for customer use. We didn't buy any cocktails, so no idea on the cost but I've read that its reasonable. The Snack Bar has water, beer, soft drinks, candy, popcorn, hot dogs, nachos, bbq sandwiches and such. And the pricing is very reasonable vs any other live music venue I've been too. RESTROOMS The restrooms are located near the bar/snack bar. I found the men's room to be clean, have a number or urinals and stalls. Very functional. THEATER GENERAL The Theater has two entry doors, so two long aisles from back to front. The sound and light boards are located between the aisles at the back of the theater (between the entry doors). About 2/3 the way towards the stage, there is an aisle going across the theater connecting the two long aisles. There is a balcony. Unsure if/when it is used, how many seats it has or how to access it. STAGE The stage is quite large in width and depth. It has a very high ceiling which likely easily accommodates tall backdrop set pieces and curtains. SOUND I saw short linear array speakers hanging from the ceiling in front of the stage. There may have been some subwoofer modules on stage behind curtains - unsure. The sound was quite adequate for this space. Note too that the walls seems to be concrete or stucco, so pretty reflective of sound. The sound team seemed to do a great job of managing levels and EQs. LIGHTING There are various uplighting on stage, downlighting above stage, lighting at the ceiling maybe 40 feet out from stage plus spot lights, likely up near the balcony. Lighting was well done and that team was responsive to the entertainers needs as he called out from stage a couple of times. SEATING / AISLE DEPTH Wow the seating was really comfortable. Cushy and wide and with cup holders in each of the arm rests. The aisle depth at your feet was enough that people could pass by you without the need for you to stand or leave your row. CONCLUSION We been to a lot of theaters around the country. This one is quite comfortable. More so that many we've been too. We have two more shows booked to see here. Looking forward to coming back.

They spend a good bit of funds on sets, costumes, and props -- they actually have some of the best props in the city. Since ICT operates as the full community theatre, which means they do not pay their actors. That frees up some money for more visual infrastructure. Their season subscription is a good savings and will give you a good chance to get a flavor of the sort of talent that gets drawn to the company. If you like, keep attending. You'll enjoy. They often produce their shows at the Dupree theatre at the Irving Arts Center, which they use well.

When we first arrived in the parking lot, we were a little apprehensive because it is in the same strip mall with a Dollar General and the entire shopping center looks a bit run down. However, the performance more than made up for the location. We were greeted at the door by actors already in character and the entire venue was set up to feel like a bar/night club. They even had a small selection of water, soda, and beer and a bartender and a waitress. I loved the way the actors used the entire space, sometimes even behind us. I also liked the use of mixed media. I'm not sure if every performance is like this, but I am definitely interested to go to another show and see what they come up with.
