Unfortunately I found the food leaving much to be desired. This place is more on par with Tex mex than Mexican cuisine if I had to categorize it; the food was lacking in flavor and it all tasted a bit plain compared to other local spots I've tried. I'd heard less than stellar reviews from family, gave it a shot myself( I ordered ACP - thought it was a "safe" order that couldn't disappoint too badly either way), and was admittedly very much so disappointed. Good place to eat while I was in town for training. I had the Fajita Tacos with steak and chicken and a house Margherita. The meat was true fajita meat, not just fried with some seasoning, like many places do. The service was very good - my server was attentive without being overbearing or giving the appearance she was anxious for me to finish and leave. There are very limited options to eat in Kingsport. Unfortunately I ended up here. I ended up getting the chimichanga which came with guacamole, sour cream, rice and beans. After a long day of work a good meal is well needed. I was greeted by Ricardo who amazing his service definitely should be recognized for Great Service. My servers name was Karina she was very pleasant and had great service. We ordered a milanesa de Pollo came with rice, side salad and beans. The plate was well served, the chicken was full of flavor. I asked for some corn tortillas and made milanesa de pollo tacos it was the Best. The rice reminded me of my mom and no one makes rice like hers. For dessert I had the churros they took a little long to make but the taste is worth the wait. If you live in the area or are visiting make sure to stop by and taste the authentic Mexican food. It was quite fun inside. I really liked the decor. Our server was nice and polite. The food on the other hand was not what we were expecting. The chips are delicious. The cheese dip was more watery, but wasn't bad. The rice was dry. We ordered the fajita dinner and they only brought us two shells, which was not enough for a whole dinner. I mean, I really tried to find floor particles or some sort of grime. I couldn't! Wow! Lampshades... Hospital clean. I've been in 6 restaurants of many genre, so far, having just moved here. Five of those I would never eat or recommend (separate reviews pending). But this place beats every Mexican restaurant I've seen. Seriously. No wonder they always seem busy. The server was spot on. Very attentive. If I had any recommendations, I'd love to see an option for the salsa... Tacos served on flour tortillas? Requested corn and accommodated. Meat has no seasoning, maybe salt and pepper. Enchilada bland. The ONLY redeeming part of the meal was the rice and beans. Won't go back. If you like bland, which evidently is a TN thing then you will love this place. I was in town for work and found this spot across the street from my hotel. The reviews weren't great, but i figured it would be okay to try. I was wrong. I've definitely had better Mexican food and felt that I wasted my money here. Nothing that I had was good, but it was edible. The salsa tasted like it came out of a can with not much flavor. My cheese quesadilla was soggy, the sauce on the enchilada was bland and the beans in the burrito tasted bunt. Maybe they just had an off night, but nothing that I had was good. Worst mexican restaurant around . Go to Santa fe . This used to be the only mexican food chain so you really had no option but to eat here . It needs to be updated and the salsa is tomato water . The portions are big but low quality food . I guess since it is so cheap it is ok to serve low food . I wont be back since Santa Fe opened up .
