I've been looking for the soft serve margaritas everywhere. From socials, this was the place that had them. As soon as we walked in, you see many specials in front of you. We were seated within mins. Our table came with complimentary chips and salsa. The waitress was attentive & friendly. Never felt like we had to track her down. We ordered Cheesy chicken and rice, ribeye steak tacos & 2 soft serve margs (pineapple & mango). The ribeye tacos was so flavorful. Had to order a 2nd order of it. The soft serve margs were everything that I wished for. So delicious, sweet and left me with a nice buzz. I overall enjoyed my experience. read more

Absolutely disgusted by this place! I have been coming here for years and today I went in with my daughter and was accused of disputing a tab in the past and asked to pay it. The owner showed me the tab and it was absolutely not me, not my bank, not my card! I had 4 servers surrounding my table. It was absolutely humiliating. I told him to look at the cameras it's not me. Stopped by this place today and this was the worse experience I had. Me and my partners order was taken, when we received our plates I received a totally different order. Completely the opposite of what I asked for. I let my waiter know and automatically she had an attitude which I would be upset too if I got a simple order wrong. She walked away came back and told me I would have to pay for the meal that I received and the meal I wanted, TWO DIFFERENT MEALS. I didn't even take a bite out of that plate and yet was expected to pay for the meal. At this point I no longer want to eat so i proceed to tell the waiter it's fine I will pay for that meal but I will not eat it, if that's the case. The manager later came back and fixed the situation. Which very appreciated of that great guy but the waiters are horrible. Nasty attitudes and very rude!! We accidentally ended up at this place today after trying to go to 5 places that we have been to already for lunch/early dinner and then either being closed or having a 40 minute wait. This was probably one of the best accidental restaurant finds we have had. The service was VERY quick, the food was great, the waitstaff was amazing. My husband got a taco salad (which is his go to at most Mexican places) and I got a shredded beef chimichanga. This was THE BEST taco salad he has ever had and my chimichanga was phenomenal. Their salsa is really good as well but a bit more on the tomato-y side. Guac is excellent, beans were so so good, but the rice wasn't the greatest I've ever had but not bad at all. The meat inside my chimichanga was so nice and moist and full of flavor. Decor is pretty neat too considering they have a lot of authentic Mexican decor accents. Overall, we are really excited we found this place and that the hospitality level was as high as it was. An added bonus was the little note I found stuck in the seat that someone's kid left behind in regards to a secret plan they had. Wait staff was very attentive, but it was after the lunch hour and I was the only one dining (for lunch). I ordered guacamole on the side, and it reminded me of sour cream salsa and some avacado, to make it up. It was soupy, no chunks. And was not a cheap add. Little on the pricey side for lunch. This might be the worst Mexican food we have ever had. We went for lunch and my taco salad had so much water in it that I dumped out what looked like close to 1/4 cup of water onto my plate. By far my favorite Mexican restaurant in Memphis! The service is always great but I'm always seated at a wobbly table! The same time! EVERYTIME!!! But by the time i get a drink and some guac, the table is the least of my worries. The first time i went here i got the chicken chimichanga! My go to! It was very good and fresh! I ordered the shrimp chimichanga and the wife had the tortilla soup. My son got the cheeseburger - surprise, surprise! I really enjoyed my chimichangas. The beans and rice where good, as were the little condiments - sour cream and guacamole. I tried the wife's soup. It was really great. I actually liked it much better than my chimichangas. It had a nice smooth flavor and just a tiny bit of spice on the back end. I recommend it. Overall this place was pretty good. As you'll see in previous reviews I love Mexican food. This place didn't disappoint. I've had better, but it was still pretty good. I recommend you at least give it a try if you're in the area. read more

This is was my first time at Casa Mexicana. In fact, I have never really given the place a second look. I had never considered eating at this establishment before, because I always just assumed it was another average Mexican restaurant. Don't be fooled, it really is just another average Mexican restaurant. What drew me to Casa Mexicana was the convenience factor. The Cordova location is situated very close to Wolfchase Honda, where I take my car to get serviced. My usual routine is to drop off my car, walk to the Wolfchase area to run errands while they are working on her, and then walk back to pick her up when ready. This was my plan on this particular day. Only, I had not eaten before I dropped my car off. There are not many favorable dining restaurants in this area. They all tend be mediocre chain establishments. The only options otherwise are Casa Mexicana and Eat Well Sushi. Eat Well is yummy, but I wasn't in the mood. Casa Mexicana was pretty empty when I walked in, but it was during the week. I took a seat, and they presented me with my chips and salsa, like you get at pretty much every a-typical Mexican dining establishment. The chips were really thin and greasy. The salsa was pretty average, with a little bit of kick and not a lot of spice. I munched on them, mainly because once I start eating tortilla chips, auto-pilot kicks in and I keep munching. I ordered a margarita while I waited too. I read on FourSquare that they have super strong margaritas. These people did not lie. Warning! I could taste some of the neon green, lime-y goodness in the glass. However, I mainly tasted tequila. To put this in perspective, all of the ice in my Margarita on the Rocks was melted in less than five minutes. I had to ask my server for a glass of ice. I used every single ice cube in a tall drinking glass to keep this thing cool while I drank it. It was strong. It was also awesome. It was not too overwhelming for me, but I definitely did not order a second one either. My food finally came, thankfully before I was able to finish the chips and salsa. I ordered an enchilada, beans, and chile relleno combo, but I got a tostada instead. This actually worked out perfectly, because I would rather have the tostada anyway. There is not much to say about the food, other than it was pretty average. Nothing had an incredible amount of flavor or impressed me, but nothing was bad either. It tasted a lot like going to any other average Mexcian restaurant in Memphis. Overall, I will probably be back to Casa Mexicana eventually sometime in the future. Not because it blew my socks off, but mainly because I will be hungry at some point when my car is being worked on. If you are stuck in the same situation as me and need some place in walk distance, Casa Mexicana is not a bad choice. Otherwise, skip it and go somewhere else. read more

I mean, I honestly could eat it every single day and not get tired of it. Sadly, my metabolism won't allow for that. This particular Mexican restaurant is one of my favorites in the Cordova/Bartlett area. The food is pretty authentic, and some of their specials are really delicious. One of my favorites is the Pollo a la Mexicana. Essentially, it's grilled chicken sautéed with onions, tomatoes and bell peppers and served with rice, refried beans and flour tortillas. And it's garnished with lettuce, guacamole, sour cream and pico de gallo. It's about 9 bucks and the portion is huge. They also do a really good Chile Colorado here too. My first time here I was disappointed but it seems things have changed. Chip are thin, fresh and tasty. Salsa is fresh and has a slight and interesting flavor of oregano. I have a crispy beef taco and a fried tamale - both were good - the tamale had nice burnt ends and a sauce flavored with adobe. As a side they let me substitute pico de gallo for the beans or rice - pico was fresh with just enough heat to get my nose running. The place is clean and service is good. Nice improvement from our last visit - we will be back. read more

We went to this place for the first time and I can't tell you how much I loved the interior design of this place and decors to match everything. Getting back to food, I ordered Nachos and this is the first time in last May be five years and it was good. . My wife ordered all flat wings and unfortunately she didn't like it, she said it was too sweet instead of being hot. We told our waiter and he asked us if we want anything else instead and she decided not to. My wife is the most difficult to enjoy eating out so she settled just for salsa and chips. I have been a huge fan of this place for a long time. The food has been consistently above average or at least it was. The last couple of times things have just gone down hill with my most recent visit being a complete disaster food wise. The chips were most likely rancid as they tasted like they were cooked in chemicals not oil. A replacement basket was only slightly less discussing. My fajita quesadilla was swimming in oil and the the steak was tasteless and chewy. This is a 180 degree turn from what I was used to here. It will be a long time before I visit them again. The margaritas are not the best, to be honest... but they are CHEAP when they are on special. :) I really enjoy the chips and salsa. They salsa is a thinner, smoother and mild salsa. I will often over indulge on these and end up having to take 3/4 of my meal home or have Paul eat it for me. Those days we try to be strategic and order something smaller and then share the nachos... which one of us gets every time because they are yummy. read more
