We have been here many times and always enjoyed the food! Their salsa is our favorite! Cheese dip is great! Everything is always hot and fresh! We generally have a short wait too. I typically get the La Hacienda chicken tacos or Chicken torta. Kiddos love the grilled shrimp! I like adding sour cream and/or Jalapeños to the tacos. Pick up orders have always been good too with short wait times. The environment is relaxed, and there's a lot of space. They have several TVs set to closed captioning. Some in English, some in Spanish. They do have an accessible sized stall in the women's restroom. A smaller wheelchair or crutches could get through but maybe not a larger one. Plenty of space in the dining room, and tables are easily moved if needed for access or larger groups. The employees are always super kind! They are very good with kiddos! BEST SALSA EVER! This place has been a favorite of ours for years. We always know the food will taste great when we come here! It's also a great place to practice your Spanish with the waiters. I practiced here for a long time. My all time favorite thing on the menu is the Chorizo Cheesy Fries, with chicken instead of chorizo, a side of cream, and a side of pico de gallo. They also have Fiesta Fries, (formerly Chicken Asada Fries) but there's too much to change on that one. They sometimes use crinkle fries if the don't have seasoned ones so I need to make sure I ask if they have seasoned fries before ordering this every time. My go to dish is the Asada de Pollo Burrito but I have a lot of things I really like here. The Pollo Borracho is amazing. It has a great presentation and the corn tortillas really balance the flavor out well. Ask for corn tortillas instead of flour- it's delicious! The carnitas are rich and flavorful and huge. I was really impressed. The steak and chicken fajita nachos are fantastic, though the chips were soggy and generally indistinguishable from the rest of the food. My parents often order the fajitas (chicken, steak, and shrimp) to go whenever they're in the mood for takeout Mexican. We called the waitress and she argued with me saying I ordered beef. I told her that was incorrect. She was insistent that I ordered beef. Merry Christmas to all the men...At La hacienda in Collierville, me and my mom were ignored while 3 other tables of men were seated after us and served first. While we continued to wait, the servers looked at us but chose to eat behind the counter and serve the men. We should have skipped this place when the address in yelp was incorrect, apparently they moved across the street and never took the time to update. This should have been the 1st red flag. The restaurant was mostly empty on a Sunday afternoon, it took about 5 minutes for anyone to acknowledge and seat us. Another few minutes go by and finally someone took our drink order. I ended up ordering the Alambre and the wife had the Carne Asada Fries. My order partially came out (just the meat) followed about 5 minutes later with the rest (rice/beans/tortillas/other toppings). Another 5-10 minutes and my wife's order finally arrived. No apologies for the delay or anything. To make it worse, the Carne Asada Fries were not as listed. On the menu it describes the proper recipe (fries covered in cheese topped with steak, guac, pico, sour cream and cheese), but she received a plate with a pile of fries covered in cheese, and a piece of steak to the side. When confronted with the issue, our waiter argued with her over the dish. He brought over a menu and she even showed him the listing, asked where the other toppings were, why the steak wasn't cut on top, etc... he went to (I assume) the manager and came back still arguing that the dish was correct. In the end he just brought over a bowl of sour cream and pico and never said another word. With as many Mexican restaurants around, I suggest going elsewhere... You would probably get better food and service at a Taco Bell. read more

This is my favorite non-authentic Mexican restaurant. The salsa is my favorite thing here along with the Burrito Supreme with queso instead of whatever sauce it comes with. I also like the Combo Steak and Chicken Nachos, Pollo Blanco, Mexican Lemonade, and the Siesta Drink (according to my wife's notes). The queso blanco (aka white cheese dip) is another favorite. Haven't been here in a while and it hasn't changed much. It's not my favorite of all Mexican places but it is super close and will do in a pinch. It is unfortunate this place falls into a very "taco bell" kind of culinary sadness but seriously it isn't hard to add some spices to the food. Getting ground hamburger in a tortilla or on some iceberg lettuce is not very Mexican. Some onions, chilis, cilantro, garlic something to enhance the color, aroma and of course the taste. The closest I've come is the fajitas but even those are lacking the spices needed to make the dishes jump out at you. On my previous visits the service has been good to just okay and the overall experience ranges in that same spectrum. I am not trashing the place but if you are looking for some genuine Mexican food then there are some better choices but if taco bell tastes good to you then this is a step up and definitely not too spicy. The only reason this place gets one star is because the salsa is pretty good and the food is good sometimes. I just received the WORST service in my life from an older lady named Griselva who was my server today. My friend and I just came for a nice and quick lunch, and our waitress was disrespectful and came back 15 minutes later after we politely asked for a few more minutes to decide on what we wanted to eat (we finished off a whole small cheese dip in the time it took her to come back) and when she returned she mocked us asking if we needed more time because "we could have it if we needed" and then walked away in the middle of us ordering. In the middle of sitting writing this review we got our checks back where we saw they had already added a tip under the title "propina" and didn't know I know spanish which added a 16.5% tip (keep in mind we are two college girls who definitely tip and respect servers but there were TWO of us, why did they add a tip???) My wife and I have eaten at La Hacienda for years, before and after the move and love it. We both work in the service/hospitality industry and understand the issues that can arise. This past Labor Day I had to work and my wife was off. When I was getting to my car I called her and she asked me to meet her at LH. I did. She was greeted with chips and salsa and ordered a large guacamole. They were out of guac. We understand. Holiday weekend, delivery trucks will be here tomorrow, etc. Then she ordered veggie fajitas, add mushroom and corn tortillas. I was indecisive, so I asked the lady to come back. We were extremely busy that day and I was super tired and wanted something light. I then asked for a salad with all the raw veggies they had and as I described what I wanted, I was made aware that some of the fajita veggies are frozen. So no carrots or broccoli. I proceeded to explain that I whatever was raw as a salad and I was going to use salsa as my dressing. Then I ordered a side of refried beans. (I'm vegan) My wife's veggie fajitas were missing the mushrooms and her wraps were flour. A few minutes later I received a plate of piping hot sauteed onions, peppers, and tomatoes with a side of shredded lettuce. Oh, and my side of refried beans. I looked at my wife and just shook my head in disbelief. The lady returned with more salsa and my wife reminded her of the corn tortillas. They arrived soon after. The restaurant was not busy compared to where I have worked and there were only two servers. I get not wanting to work, much less on a holiday evening. However, our server spoke little English. (She could work on that.) I could work on speaking Spanish, but I'm not Mexican. But, she never once wrote anything down. Also, as she walked away from our table she was shaking her head and behaving as if I had ordered pasta and meatballs or some other "we don't have that sir" item. We left her 20% because we know. And I chose not to embarrass her by calling the manager over. He, however, could have been more interactive as managers should be and came to our table to inquire about our meal and service. She sat us and said nothing about how apparently 5 people are not allowed at a table. Our 5th friend showed up and our waiter was EXTREMELY rude to us and started talking down to us like we were 5.
