Three Item Combo

Honestly... the food here really hit the spot for me. This might've been one of the best FRIED fish tacos I've ever eaten outside of Seven Lives in Toronto. We came in on a Sunday after walking the mountain trails just a few miles away. We had a great experience. The service was excellent. Our server was extremely nice and attentive (as was our hostess) and the food came out piping hot in a short amount of time. My favorite item was definitely the chicken tamale, though. The guacamole needed a bit more salt and maybe spice but I can't wait to come back here.

Chilaquiles

We decided to give their breakfast a try this past Sunday. After looking over the menu we both decided to try the Chilaquiles. We had watched a couple of Youtube cooking videos about Chilaquiles recently and wanted to try them. I've never had them and didn't know what they were until we discovered the dish online. Turned out to be quite delicious. I had expected the dish to be saucier, but it was still worth it. We were both quite full afterward. We chose scrambled eggs as a topper. My wife had verde sauce, I had the red sauce. Both tasted great :-). If you drive over to the usual Mtn View on a Sunday morning and find them to have the usual 20-minute wait, go up the road a minute or so and give this a try.

Breakfast Menu

A friend and I tried the new breakfast at Casa Rico this morning. My husband and I LOVED Tex Mex breakfasts when we were in San Antonio but have never found anything like it-until today. Casa Rico is now serving breakfast daily at 7am and the food is delicious, well priced, and generous portions. As a stay at home mom with my last kid in preschool breakfast dates with friends are a new treat, and Casa Rico will be my first suggestion anytime someone asks. My friend and I decided to get two entrees and share them. I ordered the Huevos Rancheros and she ordered the Chilaques with steak. Both come with a sunny side up egg but we asked for our eggs over easy and they were perfectly executed-Cooked white, runny yolk. The Huevos Rancheros came with two corn tortillas piled with beans, egg, sauce and avocado. The Chilaques was the start-a mounding plate of flavor! We joked that next time we will just split the Chilaques with extra steak because we had leftovers. The steak was sliced into juicy strips, the sauces tortilla strips with still crunchy. We tried both the red and green sauces, the green was a winner for us! I also ordered a side of bacon for $2.50 and was presented FIVE slices of bacon. The service was perfectly attentive, our coffee and tea were always full. The restaurant was clean and well lit. Our meal was less than $35 for both of us which is a steal for the quantity and quality. If you find yourself in the mood to try a new breakfast spot, you won't regret rolling down to Casa Rico at the end of the Golden Mile.

GRILLED CHIPOTLE BURRITO
Darby D.

Every Mexican restaurant has to have good chips and salsa. Theirs? Out of this world. (Agreed on by all 4 of us). The service was awesome (especially since we kept ordering more chips and salsa). I got the chipotle burrito, which is one of the best life decisions I've made to date. Yes, everyone was jealous, and yes, it was absolutely incredible. Highly recommend. If you're on the fence, you've found the right place.

Best fish taco in town!!

Casa Rico has the best fish tacos in town!! LOVE them. Friendly servers good week day happy hour prices.

Chicken Fajita

Second time trying Casa Rico. I would say their food is ok. Not the best Mexican food I've had but not horrible. The one thing that they make well there is their chips and salsa. We ordered the Chicken Fajitas and Mexi Roll.

They serve several breakfast dishes all day. I had the Huevos de Mexicans--which came with rice and beans for carry out. It was great! I will definitely go back. I also liked how they have covered outdoor seating. Cafe Bueno is located conveniently close to Shan row in downtown Frederick. Best of all, they had margaritas to go--so I took some home, since it was Cinco de Mayo!

Based on current reviews something has obviously happened. The server was nice and pleasant and the ability to sit outside is nice. However, our kiddos chicken fingers and fries were OBVIOUSLY undercooked. The chicken tacos were average at best and light on the meat if nothing else. The steak burrito meat literally looked like chopped steakums not an actual cut of steak. We haven't been this disappointed in a long time. Cafe bueno was no bueno. They are charging just as much as some of the other mid to high end Mexican restaurants so you can definitely do better in Frederick.

Got there at 5ish, and had a few patrons and kinda quiet. Very clean, music playing. The staff were SO FRIENDLY! They let me sample the tamarind drink = yummy. We ordered CARNE DESILADA CON HUEVO with French bread vs tortilla, I had the TACOS DE LENGUA and a TAMALES DE POLLO. Every bite was amazing for us both! I gotta say I have judged restaurants solely for their tamales alone, and this is literally one of the best I have ever had. It was huge with a giant tender piece of chicken in it, with a potato, tomato and chickpeas in it! Very unique but the taste...goodness. I want to go back now for another but I am FULL. The Lengua street tacos were on point, delicious. My husband's breakfast dish was fantastic he said, just enough. And he was SO HAPPY he chose the French bread, because apparently that was delicious. He wouldn't let me taste it, it was so good! We wanted to try the BUDIN (Salvadoran-style banana bread pudding) but they were sold out, likely because it was super delicious as well! Next time... Needless to say, we will be back and I'm going to brag to my office mates about this place. Please, try them out!

Well, we were sorely disappointed in what arrived. Including a picture of my Lengua taco. I asked for no onions but keep the cilantro and add cheese and tomato's. Instead, they gave me a horribly tiny portion of meat and nothing else [smh]. My husband was excited to get a breakfast plate. It did not have 1/2 of what was described (no cheese, no avocado, and only a mouthful of rice!). Additionally the eggs were supposed to have "peppers, onions and tomatoes" in them. The peppers were JALAPEÑOS! Loaded. Almost an inedible joke. And, they forgot to send the pupusa I ordered.... Again, very sad. Never again. I can't justify a second chance based on what they served. No pride in what they sent out tonight.
