This place was okay but certainly not a restaurant I need to revisit. The chicken in the enchiladas was very bland. The red salsa was pretty good, the green salsa was a vinegary soup. I should have just gotten a quesadilla. The bathrooms were super strange, two open toilets, a sink and a washer and dryer. Food was fair. I asked for a Chicken Burrito and if they could make it spicy. They charged me an additional $1.99 to "make it spicy". Of course they didn't mention it would cost $1.99 to be spicy.. $18.00 for a Burrito and a drink. No thanks. read more

A nice little find in the middle of some chaos during Boom Days. Food was great service was good and pricing was relatively decent. I had a burrito which lasted me for three days and my wife had a taco salad which he thought was excellent. Give it a try. read more

If you are looking at a place that follows the Colorado mandates for COVID this is not the place. The inside was packed, nobody was wearing masks except servers. Several people walked in with no masks and the tables were barely wiped down. Clearly no rules or regulations were followed. read more

Love this place! Cute kitschy ambiance with nice servers. House margarita is really good with fresh agave nectar and lime juice. My favorite part thought is the tortilla soup. Light and brothy with lots of chicken breast and veggies. Definitely worth the stop! read more

Went in around 2pm on a Saturday with 5 kids and 4 adults. Service speed and attentiveness was below average. Food average. Beware margs, heavy with sweet mixer. Added 20% tip to our family party of 9. Would not have given that much due to quality. Delicious authentic Mexican food! I had the medium combination with the shredded beef tamale and chicken chimichanga. The tamale has the silk texture you expect from homemade with a flavorful red sauce. My chimi was delicately crispy finished with homemade salsa. I highly recommend a visit. My wife had her usual chicken fajitas cooked to perfection and bountiful. Chips, salsa and beans and made onsite too. read more

This place is legit real Mexican food. We had the shrimp a la diabla and unlike a lot of Americanized Mexican restaurants, the flavor and spice was very authentic, and by authentic we mean spicy as hell. But in a good way, great flavor. Also had the natural margaritas and those were no joke either. Possibly the elevation or the half a bottle of tequila that was in them, very tasty but couldn't finish the job. Dirtiest bathrooms I've ever seen in a restaurant, and I waited tables to get through college. Ate here on a slow Wednesday afternoon. 4 tables and at least 4 people working. One guy rolling silverware. Trashes overflowing and one toilet looked full of puke. They were out of guacamole, and said they were very busy the night before. Looked like no one had cleaned the whole place post 4th of July libations. People were nice, but makes me wonder what the kitchen looks like. read more

As soon as you walk in, you are greeted with a smiling face. Very welcoming. Queso dip and salsa were a yummy starter...and so was the natural marg!!!! The carnita plate was AMAZING!!! So juicy and tender, the meat was just falling apart! Husband got the carnita burrito and was impressed!!! And of course the sopapilla to end the meal was fluffy and delicious!!! Excellent Mexican restaurant in this little mining town on top of the mountain. We have had breakfast and lunch. Both were great and the wait staff (real Mexicans as validated by my Mexican wife) were super friendly. We were the only ones for breakfast...not sure why however, lunch was packed but we didn't have to wait. Will visit again when we vacay next year in CO. read more

Stopped by on our way back from Aspen to pick some food up for the way. Got a couple of tamales and some guacamole with chips. The tamales with the sauce they gave (salsa?) were really good! Thin shells, filled with very well seasoned meat, not the thick shelled monstrosities served by many Mexican restaurants. The guacamole was very good too, with just the right amount of onions, tomatoes and some kick. If I'm ever in Leadville again, I'm likely to be back here. read more

Stopped in here tonight to help replenish two of our group that had just completed the Leadville 100 MTB race. Having eaten elsewhere earlier that afternoon, I personally only ordered drinks and indulged in a plethora of complimentary chips and salsa. Both of my margaritas were very tasty, and I could have gone for a few more if not for the 100 mile drive back to Denver that layed ahead. Our server was personable, knowledgeable, and attentive. The food, although I can not vouch for taste wise, looked and smelled delicious and was reasonably priced. read more

Food is really good but Ive never seen a more incompetent wait staff. I ordered steak fajitas and the waiter came back to ask what I had ordered, annoying but not the end of the world. My fajitas came out sizzling but I had to wait on tortillas with the rest of my food on the table for 5+ minutes. When the tortillas did come the manager came back & grabbed them off my table to re-heat them. Finally I got the tortillas & my side order of cheese took another 5 minutes after the tortillas to come. The waiter couldn't make correct change to boot. Owner or chef, if you read this, I'm imploring you to require your waitstaff to watch a video or two on YouTube about restaurant service. Your food is too good to have such abysmal service. My waiter was nice he just had no idea what he was doing and that is most likely not his fault he earnestly tried but had no idea how to wait a table. read more

We were driving through Leadville on our way back to Taos and needed a good Mexican food stop. From the second we walked in the door we felt at home; friendly and welcoming faces and an authentic feeling. Before I was even settled in my seat there were waters, chips and salsa brought to us. The food, drinks and service were great and they even brought us a free 'Mexican dessert', two tequila sips. We will definitely make Casa Sanchez 2 a regular stop when we're in the area. read more

My husband called the restaurant and let them know about the credit card overcharge we disputed. He spoke to the owner, who stated they were having problems with the Leadville location's credit card processing machine adding on additional charges to people's totals. Not sure what that's all about. They offered us a free meal which we took advantage of yesterday. Food was good, standard Mexican fare, decent queso, and large portion of tortilla soup with white meat chicken. read more

A horrible experience. I joined Yelp just to let people know what happened. Yes we had a party of 13 but only had 5 adult meals and one kids meal. There were larger parties in the room that were served before us and didn't seem to have the problems that we had. Let me start; no refills on drinks (only water), 45 minutes to get our meals after asking what was taking so long, my beans and rice were cold and my fajitas were hot but the bottom was scorched, one member of our party ordered a quesadilla with no onions and of course it came with onions, and when the check came I paid it in full only to be brought another check because they had left off items ordered. Wanted to talk to the manager but of course he/she wasn't in. Paid the bill and left a 43 cent tip only because I didn't want to wait in my change. Can I give zero stars? read more

My family and I are from Texas, and for being so far from Mexico. It exceeded our expectations, while the service was not great. Our waiter spoke poor English, the food was authentic! It was beyond amazing, this food was better then some of the Mexican restaurants in Texas! Which is saying a lot, while I am not a fan of spicy food my family is so the appetizers where over the top amazing! I would recommend this to anyone who wants a nice meal! read more

The food was delicious, but the margaritas were just okay. The chili rellenos and the Tacos de Carnitas Pork were amazing! Our server, Luciano, tried his best (he was friendly and fun) but the restaurant was terribly understaffed, which contributed to a not-so-great dining experience. We were a party of six. Napkins and silverware arrived after the chips and salsa. Drinks took a long time to arrive (one of the margaritas never came, and were charged for it, but Luciano quickly corrected the error after we pointed it out to him). Three of the members of our party ordered two ala carte items each (rather than combination dinners) and instead of putting the items on the same plate, the cook put them on soparate small plates. Our poor server had to make many, many trips from the kitchen, meaning that all the dinners were not brought to the table at the same time. Two of the entrees arrived lukewarm (and had to be sent back for reheating). No one came to fill our water glasses. Finally, someone in our party went and found a full water pitcher to bring back to our table. Also, the table-top needed to be refinished (it was pretty rough). If Casa Sanchez can rectify the staffing/service issues, we would love to give it another try. Like I said, the food itself was great! And the complimentary tequila shots at the end of the meal were an unexpected surprise! read more

Only place in Leadville that is edible. Great customer service, good food. Eaten twice so far, no issues or complaints.
