What a perfect little taco spot! Best tacos I've had in a very long time. Corn tortillas on the grill makes them soft yet crispy. Fresh toppings and perfectly tender marinaded and grilled meat. THE BEST TACO EVER. We made a special stop while driving through Elephant Butte on our way to Santa Fe from Las Cruces, because I had a hankering for a good taco. And boy, did we find it! I've eaten tacos all over the country because I'm kind of fanatical about them--and the tacos here are hands down the best. Because we're from the East Coast and knew this might be our only chance, we ordered one of every taco except the vegetarian. This place was very good we would definitely go back. There is an outdoor seating area but not really a "play" area for kids as some of the reviews at hinted towards. The burrito was huge!! The food was good but we wait 1 hour for our food and as we were waiting, they turned away at least 6 or 7 people that came to eat. They said it was a 2 hour wait. I tried Casa Taco for the first time. I ordered their 3 brisket taco plate to go. I had two problems with it. The biggest was that the brisket was way too salty. It spoiled the flavor of the brisket. The other problem was that there was a lot of liquid in the bottom of the to go plate which made the taco shells soggy. The salsa that came with it was very good. The beans and rice were okay. I will go there again and try something different in the hope of a better experience. read more

Love Casa Taco. Been going to the Elephant Butte location every week for years. Here's a tip: the busier it is the hotter the grill the better the tacos. Our vegetarian always orders veggie tacos or huevos rancheros; others in the group switch between brisket tacos, shrimp tacos, ground beef tacos, pulled pork tacos, carne asada tacos, burritos, chimis, quesadillas, and burgers. The cook really talked up how hot the green chile and pico de gallo were so I was a little apprehensive because I've had stomach surgery and heat doesn't always agree with me. We had the brisket tacos and the asado tacos with chile and pico on the side since he assured me they were very hot. The tacos were great. I'm going to go with a 3.5, but we can round up! I've heard a lot about Casa Taco since being in T or C so I figured I outta check it out. They do have a pretty decent menu with good prices! Everything is under 9 bucks (more around 6ish). But do not go expecting to find healthy options! I was able to talk to the cook and he made a vegan salad for me with rice and I added guac, so they are at least very accomodating! Most of the service was great, but there was one bitter woman that didn't seem thrilled to be working, but we made due. Seating is very nice, with both inside and outside seating. I don't know if I would choose to go back, but if you want some good authentic tacos (and green chili) this is a good one! read more

We went on the coldest/rainy afternoon this fall. We had the combo of three separate tyoes of tacos. The DH had shrimp, brisket and asada tacos. I had chicken, brisket and asada. the chicken was a little dry, the asada on the other hand was very juicy, almost too juicy but very tasty, the brisket we both agreed just didn't seem right with a taco. We love tacos and brisket but the combo was odd. The DH liked the shrimp tacos. Overall the food was good, the salsa was good and we ordered a side of guacamole which was very tasty. We topped it off with the warm brownie a la mode for desert yum. We will return. Just hope there is a warmer place to eat than outside. Unless they cover the outside eating area which was nice but very drafty and cold. read more
