The food was average. The salsa was spicy and the French fries were excellent shoe string fries. The staff was more than helpful. They were great. The time I went must have been an off time. It was after 2;30 pm. The place was neat and clean. It was roomy and there was an outside patio with seating. It looked like there was an upper level as well. I think they had beer and soft drinks. I had heard good things about the restaurant but was disappointed with the results. I ordered 4 regular tacos and my bill came to more than $15.00. I could not believe it. The tacos were nothing really outstanding and even tasted a little bland. I hate to compare a mom and pop with a chain, but a couple of days later I visited nearby Del Taco and ordered 4 regular tacos again. These were just fine and the way I like them to be, and my bill came to $5.06. Also didn't have to wait there as long as I did at Casa Taco. This place has great Chile con queso. The chips are homemade, crunchy and taste delicious. On Monday's after 4 they serve $1.50 ground beef tacos that come with lettuce tomato and shredded cheese. I appreciate that the lettuce and tomatoes were freshly cut. Tacos were good but not the best I've ever had; maybe because I know Mexican tacos from Mexico. There's also a small area for you to get salsa, limes, condiments, etc. The tomato salsa was not good for us, it's sweet and not spicy. I recommend coming here on a Monday night for good tacos at a really great price. Thursday are $1.50 cheese enchiladas and both nights have 2$ nachos but if you're a Riverbend guest you get a free order of chips and queso. The restaurant is very casual, you order and pay at the front and wait for your food to be called out. Some of the best tacos we've ever had. There's not much in Elephant Butte, but this is a must stop. They don't skimp on the fillings (meat) d they have a little magic trick with the corn tortilla shells--soft AND crispy. They make their own tortilla chips. I'm writing this 5 star review as I sit on Thier covered outdoor patio listening to AC/DC play over the speakers. As a true New Mexican I always judge a restaurant by thier red chillie, but today I could not make up my mind so I went with a red AND green chillie smothered brisket burrito . Fantastic!! Yes I know it's all ways either thier red is good and the green not so much, or the other way around, but BOTH were fantastic! The service is great, fast and very family friendly with the out door patio so my kids can be as loud as they want. I will for sure come back! read more

I've been enjoying Casa Taco for a couple of years. I'm not a fan of their rice, but everything else packs flavor. They make their chips fresh. Their tacos ate always corn tortillas, two to a taco, and they will never serve a hard shell taco. The sauces for the special taco are fresh and spectacular. Guacamole, delicious! Our favorite little spot when we visit Elephant Butte Lake. The food is always delicious, quickly made to preset and the staff are always friendly. They are currently under construction so it's a bit loud, but I'm certain it will be worth it when complete. Casa Taco, one of the few places to eat in EB. While their tacos are good, albiet a bit pricy for a taco, my reason for the three stars is they seem to be going down hill lately. We eat there often, sometimes as much as once a week, almost always call in and get it to go. Order has, almost always, something wrong. Lately they are making it less and less worth it. Used to be, the tacos would be fresh corn tortillas, lately you can tell they either are not as fresh or have changed brands. If you are going to charge four to five bucks a taco, it needs to be consistently good!! I will probably continue to give them my business but would really love to see them get back to being the best taco around! I love Casa Taco in ABQ. We were so excited to try it in the Butte. Won't be back. RUDE! Worst experience ever. Called in an order, girl on the phone incompetent, came in, sat down and waited an hour! We called it in to not wait so long. Got dirty looks by the line cook with the piercing. Went to the counter 3 times to ask for our order cause I thought I was the stupid one that missed something while they called numbers after ours and watched take out orders go. Showed them my ticket AGAIN!!!! and one guy seemed to figure it out... it had been sitting there an HOUR. And on top of all of this... the staff was sooooooo rude. The food was good but cold. If it would have been warm I would give it 5+ stars. I placed my order online. It was scheduled to be picked up at 5:19pm. We got there are 5:20pm and waited in a line of trucks until 5:50pm. I asked the lady at the window if our food had been sitting for 30 minutes and she assured me it hadn't but when we sat to eat our food just a few minutes later it was cold. I understand that pick up/drive up are the only options during Covid-19 however, maybe those who drive up to order should be asked to pull forward while they wait for their food so those of us who ordered online or called in ahead can pick up our food while it's still warm. We will definitely order from here again but we will leave to pick it up right after we order it. read more

We love the food from here...in fact we love going to the locations in Albuquerque. However, after going to the one in Elephant Butte and the poor, rude service we recieved I will refuse to give money to any of the locations. We called in an order and at the time it was placed they.said it would be a 25 minute wait. We pulled up literally 1 minute after placing the order and paid for the order and was told it would be "25 minutes" We waited 25 minutes and called to see if the order was ready and the lady said "no" I asked how much longer and she said "25 minutes". I told her that we were informed at the time we paid that it would be "25 minutes" and she said "well it is like an hour wait because we are busy!" I said that this was not ok and she said "that is what it is". We waited about 20 minutes and pulled up to go to the window and waited another 20 minutes behind another truck. Oh yeah they made us move after we paid!! We pulled up to the window and instead of being greeted with "how can I help you" by some man with a dirty shirt he said "what is the problem?". Luckily my dad was driving and asked for the order and when we got our tacos they fell apart and were COLD!! RUDE SERVICE AND DISAPPOINTING FOOD!! You only get two fish tacos for the same price as three brisket tacos(brisket tacos were recommended and excellent),however, you receive a LARGER than usual amount of tasty tilapia in each taco.
