Celebrating my daughter's 19th birthday today with a family dinner as Casa Toro. 7 of us all got something different and we all enjoyed our meals. Tacos, burritos, fajitas, a cheeseburger, coconut shrimp, and bar drinks. All were excellent and flavorful. Our service was excellent, quick delivery of our drink orders, food was hot and fresh. I absolutely LOVE Casa Toro. The food is always delicious, and with generous portions. There are many different sauces to choose from, all which are delicious. I always want to try new menu items but these are my go to favorites (in photos)! Their house chips are my absolute favorite! Thicker, crispy triangles, perfect in the nachos I love! The Happy Hour is great, there are cheap drinks and great food options. The Jefe Menu section, usually $8 selections, are only $6 during HH at the bar and high tops around the bar (more high tops in Doylestown location). $6-$7 margaritas as well! The service is always fast, attentive, and enjoyed. Decorated inside is traditional Spanish tchotchkes and murals. Never too loud even when full of patrons, with classic Spanish music playing soft. Tried this place for the first time with my husband and daughter for dinner last night and we were so disappointed! I had margarita, it was watered down:(. For appetizer we had Guacamole with chips. Came here for Cinco de Mayo ... which, given the cuisine you would think that they would be equipped to serve clientele on this holiday. I understood it was going to be busy and that there would be a wait ..... but I did not expect our service to be absolutely HORRIBLE. I was in the service industry for 10+ years and never in my life (even in the most stressful, "busy," or nonstop shifts) would I ever speak like our server talked to us. We had an awkward initial introduction and I thought we had started over once I mentioned it but it only went downhill from there. My dad and I came here for a special night out and to here specifically and I am disappointed in myself for allowing our experience with the server to have any influence on our experience overall sharing a meal as a family. Started off with asking for a blended margarita and "the machine was broken." Asked for sugar on the rim and got salt. Little things - I get it. We waited close to thirty minutes for our food (after waiting about forty five minutes for a table) and were not checked on or kept in the loop-- to the point that when we flagged her down and I brought it up to her casually calmly and generally speaking if it was going to come out soon she went OFF on both of us. Super confrontational raising her voice with a ton of attitude and flagrant body language "THIS IS THE BUSIEST NIGHT OF THE YEAR WHAT DID YOU EXPECT!!". She even went so far as to ask us if we wanted to cancel it. We had already waited 30+ minutes at the table for rice and chicken enchiladas. Call me crazy but I would think a Mexican restaurant would prepare for the "busiest" night of the year more efficiently. And no fault to management, but maybe give servers a smoke break or something so they can get it together and put the happy game face on. Like honestly I understand how serving can be be but there is absolutely no excuse to be SO SO SO rude and inhospitable. I mean, basic serving 101 - keep your manager in the loop so they can do a table touch to follow up. It was obvious she tipped out the support staff accordingly so she was more than less inclined to follow up on her orders herself. I didn't even feel comfortable asking for napkins I had to go to the front hostess to ask because after she begrudgingly brought our food after we pulled teeth to follow up on it -- she didn't even swing back around to see if we needed anything. The crazy part was was that it honestly wasn't even wildly busy -- and of all places we were in Coopersburg, PA -- super super mild in customer flow in comparison to say a regular slammed night in San Diego....let alone a Cinco in SD. After all that, the food was lukewarm if best, bland in flavor...nothing special. I wish I could make it up to my dad AND I WISH WE LEFT WITH A BETTER TASTE IN OUR MOUTHS both of food and service. I tried to give our server Amber S the benefit of the doubt but I'm sorry the service was less than standard and the flippant attitude was no bonus. Will not return. read more

A terrific find! Recommended by a friend and exceeded expectations. Menu selections more varied than just standard items. Food delicious, like homemade--lighter, fresher, more flavor than standard restaurants (examples: enchiladas, guacamole), and very ample portions (kids portions seemed just like those for adults!) We came away with quite a stack of take-home containers.) Margarita good, with homemade lime solution, though probably "longer" (a bit more water) than it would be if you made a standard recipe at home--but still tasty. Prices quite reasonable. Attractive but not fancy decor. Restaurant includes a modest-size bar + TV area right by the entry, which doesn't intrude on the adjacent dining area. We hit this place maybe 6-10 times per year. It's always good food. The staff is always pretty friendly and helpful. Last time we were there we made reservations and requested the back area. It's much quieter there as the main dining area can be a bit loud. When we were seated it was not in the back as there were no tables available. But a couple minutes later the hostess came over and said we could move a table just freed up. We appreciated the consideration. The food is always good and large portions. The fajitas are really tasty as is the chimichanga, it's a real belly buster. The drinks are good too. I enjoy the house margaritas and the Mexican beers on tap. On second visit, we both ordered Pollo Mole, which wasn't served hot enough. Housemade mole was pretty good. From shape of rice doled out onto plate, one can tell measuring device of that shape used to measure out rice. Quantity rice not enough for how much chicken and beans served with rice. Twice we had to ask one of the runners to bring us chips & salsa because she wasn't readily available once it got busy at dinner time. In addition to standard Mexican fare, you can expect a wide variety of interesting dishes and specials... Elotes. Birria tacos... Too many to list here. And when you ask for hot peppers, you get hot peppers. Not some bland version of a jalapeño that could be served in an elementary school cafeteria. Of course, the calling card of any good Mexican place is its margaritas. Even the least expensive margarita at Casa Toro is excellent. Just the right combination of tart and sweet with an ample amount of tequila to make its presence known after just one goblet full. Service is consistently attentive, whether you sit at the bar or in the dining room. Weeknights are my favorite time to go. If you go on a Friday or Saturday evening, expect to wait for a table. However being In the mood for Mexican we decided to try Casa Toro because we were in the area, the meal was just fine. The location is a bit odd, it's in the corner of the shopping center, so easy to miss if you are not looking for it. I will also admit because of the sign out front I thought it was a Mexican pizza place for the longest time. Normally I like to give the good and bad for places that I review, I can't do that here, nothing was better than anything else, but nothing was worse than any thing else. So let's start with the food, it was average Mexican food, the enchiladas were a little bland for my liking, but they were not bad. The Casa Toro burger had a lot going on, unfortunately a lot of the flavors got lost in the shuffle. The churros were ok, I have had better I have had worse. The dining room was nice and so were the tables, but they were a little sticky. They have an out door seating area that over looks the St Luke's Pediatrician office, so if you want to sit outside and see sick kids you can do that here. The service was average, she did what was expected of her and I have no complaints about her. The price was ok, not expensive at all, but also not cheap. The portions were not too big but diffidently not small either. Overall this is just an average restaurant, and there is nothing wrong with that. They don't do anything poorly, but they don't excel at anything either. So if you want Mexican food and are in the area sure why not. read more

We get takeout from Casa Toro many times a year. Glad they do takeout and it is ready pretty fast. We usually a chicken chimichanga and fajitas or the tacos. They are all enjoyable. Especially in a relative sense in our sadly not-very-ethnically-diverse area, it's a treat to have quite edible Mexican food. I haven't tried the mole or anything yet, but I'm tempted. A note for improvement: I wish they didn't use styrofoam containers, and a lot of them overall as it's 1 each for each side (1 for black beans, 1 for rice, then more for sour cream, salsa). I'd be happy to just have them all mixed in with the entree to save on all this packaging which will "outlive" us. Anyway, overall, it's a decent place and the only real restaurant we buy from in all of our home town of Coopersburg with any regularity. We are happy to give them our business and to have a decent, lively place like this restaurant here. read more

I have been going to Casa Toro for over 10 years. The food has always been delicious and service has been great. I have only ordered take away since Covid started. Today I went with my family of 10 for dinner at 4:55 and was TURNED away, literally turned away. The manager informed me that she couldn't seat a party of our size and that she had turned away another large party earlier. I asked if we could split into a table of 4 and a table of 6 and she said she still couldn't accommodate us. By turning away two large parties, the manager lost the restaurant at least $400 (and that is just the 2 parties I know she turned away). A more savvy business move would have been to say we have many big parties now and coming up soon, I can seat you but you are going to have to wait 60 minutes, 90 minutes, 120 minutes (however long)..... and then we could have decided to stay or leave. She didn't give us that option she literally just turned us away, I have never seen such bad managing. We went to Copperhead and were told to wait 5 minutes and they could seat us. read more

Stopped in around 1pm for lunch while in the area for a XC meet. The first round of chips/salsa are free, and nice to know they are fried in a dedicated fryer so totally gluten free. Their menu notes what is available gluten free, and then just eliminated cheeses to keep things dairy free. We laughed at the amount of food, it really was large portions, and then when the bill came we realized the waitress had put in for a dinner portion of fish tacos. She adjusted the bill since we had ordered from the lunch menu, but I'm pretty sure my husband may not be hungry for the rest of the day. I was in the area for work, and thought that I'd check this place out. I worked late and got there just before closing, but the staff was still welcoming and attentive. After being seated, I was brought the complementary chips and salsa- which consisted of fresh baked chips and pico salsa. Overall it was pretty good. For my meal, I ordered the cheese enchiladas with a side of rice and beans. The rice was as expected, and the black beans were actually pretty tasty. The enchiladas themselves were pretty bland. The cheese was mild so I didn't taste it much, and the sauce was also not very strong in flavor. I asked for jalapeños to be baked into them, and if it weren't for the jalapeños then I wouldn't have tasted much. Service was good, except I don't believe they checked on me after I was brought my food. Food did come quickly, though I did leave a little hungry still. read more

The food was good and the service was fair. We rented a room for a company pary and they charged us a mandatory 18% tip (which I didnt see listed on their menu) in addition to a $50 rpom fee, which was also poorly explained. We ordered a $100 taco platter and when we asked for hard tacos (which wad on the order sheet) but they said that they didnt have any until I asked the manager at the end.) Very large portions and good food presentation, but not worth price. Also they dont give a price break on pitchers of soda. Nice atmosphere but confusing menu. this is our go-to place when in Coopersburg . Extremely disappointed as we left on Saturday night. Our waitress was super and we ordered 2 different meals I had the Polo Colorado- delicious sauce this was recommended by our server. True it was so yummy but the beans were cold and rice was just luke warm. My husbands whole meal was cold. Combo Toro. Its Sat night and very busy. Ends up our server says they can heat up my husbands. He gets his plate taken away after he ate off of it and it was brought back warmed( microwaved) and new rice given to him. I on the other hand had nothing done to mine. Very upsetting . She even mentioned something about the food runners didn't know what table to take it too so it sat in the window. they gave us free dessert- I would have preferred getting our order straight or taken off the bill. I receive a birthday coupon in the mail every year. It expires at the end of your birthday month and last year I didn't get a chance to use it. This year I was SO determined to use it that I wound up going alone since I couldn't find someone to go with me at the last minute. I ordered the tres comBo which was a tostada, 2 enchiladas and a taco and it was all very good. I decided to save room for dessert and got the fried ice cream. I've been a long time fan of this restaurant for the past four years and I can truly say I will never come back. Something clearly has changed in terms of management because the menu has changed, prices have gone up, servings have gotten smaller, and the quality of overall disappointing. Queso tasted powdered and came out way too fast--store bought would have been better than what they served. Carnitas were dry and nothing to rave about. Chimichanga was microwaved and cold in the middle. Chicken enchiladas were borderline inedible and were reminiscent of canned chicken meat. Good quality Mexican food with a few cuban items tossed in. We've been coming here for years and really appreciate the consistency and value. Nothing fancy or exotic on the menu, just your basic traditional Mexican dishes you'd expect to find, perfectly executed at a reasonable price. They offer a great happy hour value at the bar and have various daily specials, such as taco Tuesday and all you can eat mussel Wednesday. Great authentic Mexican food. The restaurant is nicely decorated and comfortable. Decor is not overly done like a lot of Mexican places. Staff is friendly and attentive. Menu has a lot of options and you are sure to find a lot to like about the food. It is hard to decide what to eat because everything is good. This used to be my favorite restaurant, been a customer since it opened. But the last 2 times it's been utterly devoid of flavor. And tonight they screwed up our take out order so thoroughly it was inedible. We ordered the red sauce and our meal came smothered in verde sauce which I refuse to eat. the parts of the platter I could eat had ZERO seasoning. Pasty bland beans in a soggy fried tortilla with unseasoned grilled vegetables. Barf. The rice was good I guess. We ended up going to the store and getting frozen enchiladas and some chips. They gave us half a dozen little cups of salsa and no chips. Guess take out customers don't get the chips they give everyone else. Avoid this train wreck until they get their act together. read more
