This is an exceptional European style tapas restaurants I would highly recommend. We had our first visit recently and were so happy with every single dish. The ambiance location is obviously a good pick but the small plates were just as fantastic! Loved the crudo empanadas prawns and the brulee the most of all. Service was friendly and parsed out perfectly
I had this place bookmarked on Yelp since November when it was all dressed up for the holidays. The pictures of the interior looked beautiful and the food looked great. Yesterday, I came here for my birthday lunch with my mom after she made a reservation, and honestly, I wish we had just gone somewhere else. We sat down right at our 1:00 reservation and then waited 35 minutes just to get a drink menu. Not food. Not to order. Just the menu for drinks. After we finally ordered, the champagne showed up about 20 minutes later. It was served in wine glasses, which feels like basic wine bar knowledge, but apparently not here. When we asked to switch them to champagne glasses, the waiter brought out smaller wine glasses. Not exactly good etiquette for a place that leans so heavily on its bar concept. The whipped ricotta appetizer came out even later, around the 65 minute mark. As an appetizer. It was fine, probably the best thing we had, but "fine" after that kind of wait is not a positive. From there, everything just dragged. It took almost an hour for my mom's meatballs to come out, and when they did, they were raw. Not slightly underdone. Fully pink in the middle. She sent them back and was so turned off she didn't even want to eat anything else. I ordered a salad and specifically asked for light dressing. What I got was the opposite. It was drenched in a thick, heavy dressing that made the whole thing borderline inedible and the lettuce soggy. After our food, I tried to order drip coffee, which they didn't have, so I settled for an Americano. I asked for warm cream, which I've had done at plenty of places, and somehow it came out clotted. If you know anything about coffee, that shouldn't happen. At this point, we had been there for over two and a half hours. For a salad, an appetizer, and four raw meatballs. The server was very nice and doing his best with being busy. BUT, the overall operation felt completely disorganized and untrained. We weren't the only ones either. The couple next to us was also complaining after waiting 40 minutes just to order breakfast items. To make it even better, parking is only comped for 90 minutes. So because of their slow service, we ended up paying for parking on top of overpriced, underwhelming food. What should have been a 45 minute lunch turned into a 2.5 hour ordeal. The bathroom also wasn't clean either time I went, which pretty much sums up the lack of attention to detail across the board. The only slightly redeeming part was the crème brûlée, which was... fine. Not amazing. Just fine. It's a pretty space. I'll give them that. But that's about where the positives end. The food is not good, the timing is unacceptable, and the whole experience feels like Instagram style over quality and substance. Definitely not worth the money, and not somewhere I'd ever go back to.
Really enjoyed this place. Great decore. Fun drinks. Tasty food! Love the vibe and that they have outdoor seating , so dog friendly! Our server was great. We had a small issue with the drink bill and the manager corrected it immediately. Very professional and I would come back in a heartbeat.
I made reservations at Casa Dami to celebrate my daughter's birthday, and overall, it turned into a really memorable experience. When booking, I had the option of dining , chef's table, or patio seating. I specifically chose the dining since my daughter loves creating content, and the indoor ambiance is absolutely beautiful for photos. The hostess seated us on the patio, and I mentioned that I had selected dining. I was told that seating is based on first availability, which was a little disappointing, especially since the restaurant is right on the water and by 7:30 PM it was getting pretty chilly. While they do have heaters outside, sitting in gusty winds with the smell of gas (especially after a fresh trip to the hairdresser!) just wasn't ideal. My daughter went back to the car to grab a blanket. Thankfully, the hostess noticed my discomfort and came back shortly after saying, "Donna, we have another table further down that's out of the wind and under a heat lamp." That small gesture made a big difference, and honestly, that's when the experience started to turn around. From there, things only got better. When our entrées arrived, our waiter Nick realized we had never received our appetizers. Without hesitation, he assured us he would make it right, and he absolutely did. He brought out a selection of cheeses for us to sample, which led to us ordering a caviar bump paired with champagne (highly recommend!). To top it all off, he surprised my daughter with olive cake and fresh berries to celebrate her birthday. Such a thoughtful touch. If I could give this place 10 stars, I would. Not just because the food was amazing, but because of the attention to detail and how seriously they take the overall dining experience. Parking is available in a nearby garage, and they validate the first 90 minutes, which is a nice bonus.
Beautiful space to enjoy a few spritz's and good bites. Each time we go here it feels like we're entering a mini vacation. Dining on the patio is as stunning as the feel inside. They also have small boat dock with complimentary boat parking.
*review based on a Monday, which is limited to their pre fix menu I have been hearing about casa dami from friends, highlighted for its cute Christmas decor and vibes for the holidays As noted, we went on a Monday which is their steak and frites prefix night. The cut of steak is hangar, it comes medium rare, and is covered in a beef gravy. You get about 6 oz if I had to guess? It's not a large portion to say the least, the same goes for the fries. They were perfectly crisp, lacking salt but, that's an easy fix. The salad that comes prior to the meal is simple and light, and the affogato that follows is heavenly (but to be fair... you can't eff up a affogato lol) They validate parking in the garage IF the machine is actually working. We weren't able to pull a ticket so instead entered our phone number. When we asked about validation our server noted we could just call security so that they can raise the gate for us. Not the fault of the restaurant but it was just annoying after having paid several hundred dollars for a dinner I left hungry from haha Overall, is it worth the hype? Not so much. However it was a good time, the food was good (just extremely overpriced), and the service was good as well. We may come back on a different day to see about their full menu.
Very cute little European style cafe and wine bar tucked away in NPB peninsula village. Was taking a stroll one morning with my furbaby when we found this place so checked it out. They were decked out in the Xmas season so had Christmas ornaments and reefs around which gave it a more warm and festive energy. Super cute. I had the trifled egg Benedict with smoked salmon (you get a choice of prosciutto or smoked salmon with the dish) which was very good. Also tried the Patatas bravas on the side which were essentially potato wedges with garlic aioli sauce. This latter one was just ok. Noticed they had a number of tapas and other protein entrees they offer for dinner which I would love to try one day soon.
Came back for a late dinner with my gf and I don't especially love it as I did for the lunch. We were walked outside to sit but our table for 2 ppl were sooo close to the table for 4ppl next to us that I asked to sit inside. Really was not in the mood to be breathed on. We ended up at the counter and I'm not sure why we were not offered other tables that I see inside and outside. Our reservation was for 8:30pm and for the rest of the night, I did not see that many ppl come thru. Nonetheless, my gf and I haven't seen each other so we focused on the time we had with each other. Espresso martinis were actually really good. Love the pitch of sea-salt on it. Brought it to another level. At the end, we did a type or margarita that the bartender suggested and that was a nice drink as well. I recalled from the last time, they did have good wines but I did not have any this time. The truffle bikini is a must. Amazing flavors! Skirt steak with good as well. Great temperature on it. I didn't enjoy it on the mash potatoes. Salad, chicken were also good. No complaints there. Music got extremely loud and a weird mix toward the end of the night. It's so loud that we had to just call it a night and we couldn't hear each other. Our reservation was at 8:30pm so about 10:30pm, ppl arriving just to drink and then the music got straight loud. As we were at the bar counter for dinner, it was not as we intended for a late dinner. Overall ok. Prob will stick with lunch if I come back.
Came here for our anniversary. Service was nice and friendly! Food was okay. I was a bit upset over the charcuterie board. It's not the same as shown on their Yelp pictures. False advertising?. For the price of $48 it's not worth it. There's no balance of taste on the board, all salty types of cheese. One of the cheese slice had the entire rind on there which is wax, it's edible, but I don't want to eat that...it's wax. However, the tomato jam was good. To add on, seems like if there's a party of 2 people you get less and little care for the Board, maybe bigger party if people you get a variety of options on the board? But correct me if I'm wrong. That was just was i noticed. I just wished it was better. We ordered the empanadas, but we got the ham croquetas instead. Great mistake lol, it tasted good. Meatballs were good, sauce was on point. Truffle bikini sandwich was okay. Literally bread and the thinnest meat. Ratio could be better. Chicken Milanese could use some seasoning. We didn't enjoy the drink. From Yelp pictures, seems like this place is best for breakfast/brunch. Dinner was not on par. Overall, scenery was beautiful. Chicken Milanese was just lacking some salt and needs balance on board.
Casa Dami is a beautifully decorated restaurant with a sophisticated European vibe. The manager was very hands-on and clearly knowledgeable about wine, and the wine list was excellent. We started with the charcuterie board and whipped ricotta, and both were outstanding. The service throughout the evening was attentive and friendly. We had a wonderful experience and will definitely be back. Casa Dami is a place we will gladly recommend to friends.
Visited this cute spot after work and would say it's more of a spot with a good ambience vs the tapas or wine. Our table had dirty wine glasses and when they were replaced the ordered a bottle that was over $100, that came out flat. We then asked to try a couple of others, until we found one that wasn't. I found that odd.. As for the tapas the empanadas were the tastiest. We also tried the octopus, which was decent as well. Not sure if we visited just in a bad time of day, but felt like the price was a little overrated based off the quality/amount of food provided
Isabella was such a great server and made our experience amazing!!!! The food and the ambiance were awesome. We will definitely be back!

Barkeep Allen is amazing. We were introduced to some great champagnes and cocktails. A appetizer must is the caviar with cream fresh and crispy potato chips. Ahi tuna was good too. The eggplant on toast was very flavorful and cool. Sundays are for burgers. Yes they have the best hands down burger in the area, The two different ground beef Blend was seasoned and cooked to perfection. They added some sort of creamy sauce and of course the fries were cooked nice and crispy. We wished we had more of an appetite or guest with us for this party of two, to try more food. But I guess we have to come back for more! Ambiance and service was impeccable read more
This place had been on my bucket list for over a year after I saw how cute it looked on Instagram during the holidays. I'd walked past it a few times and always thought it had a great vibe, but the seating situation was a little disappointing. The only nice seating consists of the three tables by the entrance; everything else is bar seating, and the restaurant itself is very small. Taking away the seating situation and evaluating just the food, I'd say Casa Damí is your average "try it once and perhaps never go back" kind of place. We started with the burrata, which was good, but I've also never had a bad burrata before. The croquettes were basically fancy cheese curds, which I could totally get behind if I were at a bar. The tiger prawns were a chef recommendation, but unfortunately they were pretty small and overcooked, which made them difficult to remove from the shell. The flavor was okay, but they were frustrating to eat, and at this price point I expected more. The olive oil cake was great and probably the best thing I ate all night. I can't say I'd come back just for that, though. Maybe I ordered the wrong things, but based on what we tried, I'm glad I experienced it once and don't feel much of a need to return. read more
Had a staycation weekend down in Dana Point and had dinner with some friends here at CasaDamí. We ended up having a few appetizers at the bar before being seated at a table for our party of 4. Had a glass of white wine which was recommended by the manager/sommelier while we browsed the menu. As our friends have dined here several times, we started to nibble on the whipped ricotta, burratina, empanadas and the pan con tomate w/jamon. All 4 were delicious but the empanadas were amazing! Our table was ready once we finished the 4 appetizers. Next up we decided on the tiger prawns, branzino and seared scallops. Thought the prawns were a tad bit overcooked as it was a bit tough. The scallops were well seasoned and especially loved the saffron risotto. Finally, the branzino was cooked perfectly but wasn't a fan of the romesco sauce as it tasted sweet to me. Though we were absolutely stuffed, we ended up trying their creme brûlée, gelato/sorbet flight and their olive cake. I absolutely loved the creme brûlée as the custard was super light. The gelato/sorbet flight was also tasty but sadly wasn't a fan of the olive cake. The place was packed and patrons seemed to stay for a few hours at a time. Only complaint is with how loud it can get with both the music and patrons drinking countless bottles of wine. Service was phenomenal and would definitely head back if in the area. Although they do validate for the 1st hour, we ended up staying for quite some time and parking ended up costing another $18. read more

Had a great experience here but they don't have a full bar yet. The sommelier was very helpful. We didn't order the squash but they accidentally brought it to our table. It was delicious. Everything is tapas style so it's fun to share and try a variety. Outdoor seating was nice. read more

Claire was absolutely amazing! She made our experience so enjoyable from start to finish. She was incredibly friendly, attentive, and helped us with everything. She recommended their incredible salad with the cashew dressing, and it ended up being one of the best dishes we had. The coffee was also outstanding. We loved our experience at Casa Dami! The food was delicious, the atmosphere was wonderful, and everything was beautifully done. Our server was so sweet, attentive, and made us feel very welcome. The only thing we would suggest is adding more options for the bigger sharing plates on the menu. Other than that, everything was great, and we had a lovely time. Girls brunch spot! Came here to celebrate my sisters birthday just us 2 and were seated right away. She was given a complimentary glass of champagne to celebrate 30 and provided with great recommendations. Loved the truffle eggs Benedict, the side salad offers perfect freshness to cut through the richness of the hollandaise sauce. Great experience! read more
Happy to add this spot to the list of hot new restaurants in town. Tapas with the girls is my kind of evening. We had the perfect combo: empanadas, meatballs, glorified chicken nuggets (I forgot the real name, sorry lol), and whipped goat cheese. Every bite was perfection--no notes. The staff was super friendly, and the interior is just as stunning as the outdoor patio, which gives off European vibes with an ocean view and boats passing by. Me and my girlfriends stopped by to split a bottle and share an app! We visited on a Sunday night and we got really lucky the bar seating was open since we didn't have a reservation. Parking is super tough around the area, but if you don't mind walking a couple blocks there's plenty of free street parking. The restaurant is beautiful, it reminds me of some spots you walk past in Europe. Very loud music if you're seated inside. We loved the details of the dinnerware and the service was great. We split a bottle of white wine and shared the patatas bravas which was good! A bottle and the one app came out to $120 which is pretty pricey, but I'd visit again for a special occasion and to try more of their food! read more

This place is really cute! The interior is very aesthetic, and it was a cute spot to grab brunch with a girlfriend. The presentation of everything was great overall, but nothing really captured my attention at the same time flavor-wise. We also waited quite a while for everything. This was fine by me since I was catching up with a friend, but I still noticed that service was pretty slow. I'll have to make a point to come back and see if anything has changed! read more

I don't leave reviews, but this time I absolutely had to. Casa Dami was just too good not to talk about. The food was honestly amazing every dish was flavorful, fresh, and beautifully done. You can tell they truly care about quality. Everything we ordered exceeded our expectations. The ambiance was so good and made our date night absolutely perfect. The atmosphere felt warm, intimate, and inviting the kind of place where you can really relax and enjoy the moment. And the service? Nick is hands down the best server. Delivering top-tier service with a genuine smile the entire time is so impressive. He was attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was perfect without ever making us feel rushed. You can really tell he loves what he does. We'll definitely be back not just because of the incredible food, but because of him too. The service, the food, and the atmosphere were all unforgettable. read more
Stopped by to grab some drinks with some friends on my birthday, and glad we did. Service here was great, and the drinks were even better. Still think about the limoncello spritz after a month.. My friend got one of the dessert wines, and that was delicious as well, coming from someone who isn't the biggest fan of wine. Ambience was great, definitely hope to come back soon. read more

I'd say it was a pretty good amount of food, especially if you're planning to get dessert after. It's definitely on the pricier side but that's Newport for you. Like, the croquetas were good but it was $16 for three little ones. Drinks were good, nothing super strong, but they were fruity and bubbly which I liked. Went on Monday which is when they have their prefixed steak frites menu with fries and salad. Salad was delicious loved the dressing. Steak was tender but drowning in sauce which had a lot of pepper in it. If you don't like a lot of sauce tell them not to. I upgraded to truffle fries for $10 more and there was barely ANY truffle on it. Waste of money and disappointment. The affogato at the end was so delicious and highlight of the meal. read more
came here once on a weekday for coffee and wine and again on sunday, both around one. amazing prosciutto, tomato jam, and cheese. I'd definitely recommend the board to anyone that visits. Coffee, especially the spanish latte was great and the wine was fine as well. the brunch items were also good, ie. truffle bikini, breakfast sandwich. Unfortunate, the server who was so kind and amazing the first visit is no longer working there. Service was fine the second time, it was definitely busier during sunday brunch. Had a group of five, and were seated at the bar due to lack of tables. We definitely should have made a reservation ahead of time but wish they would've opened up the additional outdoor seating (which seemed to be available, as another group was seated later on) or set up a yelp/physical waitlist system. overall, would visit again. +before visiting, note that charcuterie is not available during brunch hours (until 2) during the weekend! read more

I had a fantastic evening at casadami! I went with a party of 6 and it was nice because we got to try nearly everything on the menu. Our server was great and he had amazing recommendations. My favorites were the patatas bravas and the meatballs. read more

The attention to detail is amazing! From the menu design, plates, napkins, Togo bag everything was thought out. Our server was outstanding, I didn't catch her name but we came on a Sunday for brunch and she was exceptional! Gave us great recommendations and always checked up on the table to see if we needed anything. The restaurant is beautiful, great for a girls brunch or a date. When seated outside there are outdoor heaters to keep you nice and cozy. You can park in a parking garage behind The Crab Cooker ( the red building ) and you can get the parking ticket validated up to 1.5 hours. Avocado breakfast croissant 5/5 the poached eggs were cooked to perfection and the flavors went very well with one another Spanish latte 4/5 the flavor is not as intense for typical Spanish lattes but not bad!
