I came here with a group of friends and we had a great experience! We ordered a little bit of everything, from the pizza to the branzino, and everyone enjoyed their meals. I also ordered a mocktail, and it was so refreshing and flavorful. We sat outside, and the patio was beautiful with plenty of shaded seating and really cute decor. I didn't even realize they had indoor seating until I got there, which was a nice surprise. Overall, the food, atmosphere, and service made for a great brunch/lunch spot. I'd definitely come back!

Beautiful restaurant with a gorgeous interior and a warm, inviting atmosphere. We came for a family Sunday dinner, and everything was excellent. The pasta was delicious, and the pizza was cooked perfectly. The service was outstanding, and everyone on the staff was so friendly and welcoming. We had a wonderful evening.

New brunch spot and aesthetically placing? Sure I'll check it out! We had a girls brunch here and sat inside but the vibe is cute and very open. However, everything else is meh.. as expected. You must valet or there's a parking structure near by for a short distance of a walk. I believe with validation is $15 for 2 hours. The portions of the food are tinyyyy. Kind of a joke honestly for the price you're paying. But I guess it's for the location at Pendry's. Calamari- decently tasting but portion is tiny Pizza- Calabrese&Honey. The honey really makes the pizza Dessert- Crème brûlée- very creamy Drinks- Hugo Spritz- very refreshing Most places that are cute the food is usually meh. But cute spot to hang out

Cute lunch/brunch and dinner cafe inside Pendry NPB. Very bright and happy yellow vibe that seems perfect for ladies brunch, baby showers, bridal showers, or simply an intimate lunch or dinner spot. Here's what we tried: - Chicken Piccata: perfectly cooked chicken breast with lemon caper butter and side of charred broccoli - Butternut squash and sage Pizza: thin perfectly crispy and chewy crust with Swiss chard and herbed goat cheese. Garnished with some greens (assuming it was safe although couldn't really taste it) and pecans. A little greasy but not bad. - ended with some latte which was good. Cute place for brunch and events. Convenient as it's in the Pendry hotel and there's a very nice bar inside.

Afternoon tea visit at this high end restaurant inside a fancy hotel. The scenery is nice. Ordered the set that included tea, savory and dessert platter. Overall food was ok. The sweets were a bit overpowering. Tea was hot water with tea bag. Since we paid $$$$ for this combo, I'd expect more out of the food, presentation and quality. Probably wouldn't recommend as there are better choices out there

Meatball in spaghetti not properly cooked, raw

The food is not good, the beef meatball marinara pasta was bland and the meatball was not cooked properly, calamari portion was very small, not shareable. The pepperoni pizza was good. Ambiance is good

Viamara is located inside the Pendry Hotel where parking is valet only for $15 for 2 hours with validation (without will run you $65). This place is such a beautiful little getaway in Newport Beach- It feels like you are on vacation somewhere tropical and lush with all the greenery. This place got popular on social media due to their high tea offered (I believe you have to book ahead of time) but I came here just for their regular brunch menu. Everything here was quite delicious from the margarita pizza with a very savory garlic butter crust, to the fresh sweet oysters. I also ordered the working lunch with half a market salad and eggplant sandwich; both were delicious but a little pricey at $25 for the portion. The staff is so friendly and attentive making my meal and experience here that much more enjoyable. Overall a very nice experience but you very much are paying for the ambiance and vibe. The food is quite good but definitely on the pricier side and nothing is spectacular about it. I can definitely see myself coming back here for special occasions or if you want a pretty and aesthetic place to dine.

If you're looking for a cutesy spot to catch up with your girl friends, Viamara really is a good option in terms of atmosphere, photo ops, and catching up over small finger foods. The restaurant is gorgeous and everything is aesthetic which was definitely made for photos and long chats. That said, for an afternoon tea experience, I did expect little more. Instead of loose leaf teas, they only offered tea bags which felt underwhelming. Also, all the food in the sets were so cute, but a couple of the bread items didn't taste as fresh and were borderline stale even though they were plated so aesthetically. Some of the bites were okay, while a few others definitely stood out and with good service during the time we went, it balanced out the experience. There were two courses, and the second one (dessert) was my favorite. Overall, Viamara is worth visiting for the aesthetic and vibe, especially if your goal is catching up with friends in a super cute setting or even celebrating a friend's special occasion! Believe it or not, we actually got full but were ready to order a full meal right before we got into our second course. I would recommend to hold off until you finish both courses and to see how you feel. If you plan on visiting this spot, just go in knowing the food is a bit hit or miss, and you'll enjoy the experience for what you make of it.

I've been to SET and the Pendry before, but I hadn't even heard of Viamara until recently (I think it might've been members-only before?). I came here to celebrate a friend's birthday and ended up loving it. The aesthetics are so cute--every corner of the space feels thoughtfully designed--and the service was genuinely amazing. Our waitress was incredibly kind and attentive. She made conversation with us, checked in regularly, and even surprised us with a complimentary crème brûlée since we were celebrating a birthday. It's torched tableside, which made it feel extra special. We ordered the burrata, beef carpaccio, chicken parm pizza, and pasta, and they brought out some complimentary bread to start. Everything was good, but the pasta was the standout--so flavorful and perfectly cooked. I'd come back just for that. Highly recommend if you're looking for a cute, elevated spot with great service in Newport.

This place is so pretty. Tucked away in The Pendry. The food was great but the atmosphere was the icing on top.

This place is definitely a vibe. Came here for the tea experience with my girls. Ambiance is vibrant with cushy seats, comfy pillows, painted ceilings, and lush greenery so definitely a 10/10. Overall we had a great time, as the service was amazing. There were several people helping us throughout and everyone was attentive and friendly so a 10/10. As far as the food, it was only mediocre. The savory tower had several sandwiches, and my fave was the prosciutto, but the others I could do without 5/10. The sweet tower was better, but nothing to rave about 7/10. And the tea itself, I was disappointed they were not loose leaf as I expected them to be so 6/10. If you want to come here for the vibe and experience, definitely yay! But if you're expecting great food and drinks, it's a nay for me.

Cobb salad, salmon and working lunch.

It's been a while since I've been back to the Pendry Hotel in Newport so planned a girls' brunch at their new restaurant called Viamara. Food: 4/5 We got the Cobb salad, salmon and the "working lunch". The salad was a bit on the salty side so I'd skip this one the next time. The salmon was our favorite, flaky and flavorful. For the working lunch, the lobster fusili was refreshing and cold cut was good but not the best I've had. The drinks were STRONG!!! We got tipsy from one drink! Thanks! Service: 5/5 Joe was our server and he's the best! He was welcoming, professional and had great recs! Ambiance: 5/5 Beautiful inside and out, just like me LOL. The restaurant was bright and intimate and clean. Parking is valet only, which is $15 with validation for the first two hours, or you can park at the structure or Fashion Island and walk over. Would love to come back here and try their high tea.

Caesar salad pizza is a MUST! Also their drinks are delicious and their burrata appetizer. This is located at the Pendry hotel for brunch the opposite side of Set Sushi and Steak. It's a bright lively atmosphere and perfect for a girls day out

Lets try this again since my original review was removed…read more The night was going great. We just had dinner near by and decided get drinks here. We've been here a few times before and always thought it was decent. So, we made the last minute reservation online and got here 15 minutes early. When we arrived, there was a short line, but per the reservation instructions, one of my friends went in to check in while we waited outside. Friend: Hi, I'm checking in for a reservation. Bartender: What time is your reservation. Friend: 10 Bartender: What time is it now? Friend: 9:45 Bartender: Then I'll see you at 10pm. Friend came back annoyed and explained what happened. The bartender didn't say it in a joking way, but with attitude and annoyance. Most staff would respond "Thank you for checking in, we will let you know when your table is available." We weren't going to let this ruin our night, so we waited and were seated by the hostess. The bar itself is dimly lit and very tight. The music was loud enough that we had to almost yell to hear each other. The waiter came by soon after and was extremely friendly. We said we'd been here a few times before, but it's been a while. He refreshes our memory by saying they specialize making variations of classics. They want customers to focus on the flavors and that's why the menu doesn't list the spirit in their drinks. Also, they only make drinks on the menu because their drinks are prebatched/premade. We ask for recommendations which he was happy to give. We each order a drink and a snack for the table. As we're talking (very loudly so we can hear each other), we lose track of time before we realize that it's been 20 minutes and we haven't gotten our drinks yet. For something that's prebatched, it shouldn't take long. Before we can flag down the waiter, he comes by and apologizes that they lost our order and had to put it back in. We appreciate the honesty and say it's no problem. 5 minutes later, our drinks and food arrives. He again apologizes for the wait and has a second order of our food that he's including for free. Honestly we were ok with just the apology, but extra food too? Hell yea. Sounds like it was turning around. The drinks were okay. Not amazing, but definitely above average 3.8 / 5. The snack, bread and butter, were surprisingly good. 4.5 / 5 When we asked for the check, the waiter brought the credit card reader and told us we can swipe our card any time and left it on our table. We look at the bill and realize the waiter not only gave us the 2nd snack for free, but comp'd 2 of the drinks also. We all agree this waiter is GREAT. So why the 2 stars? Well first let me say, I would leave it at 1 star, but the waiter definitely earned them another. We wanted to pay cash, so we waited for him to come back. Instead, the original rude bartender comes by and realizes we haven't paid yet. We ask if we can pay with cash. He explains that they don't accept cash. Friend: Are you sure? *Proceeds to try to insert cash into the chip reader slot* Bartender: You're pretty stupid, aren't you? Friend: Maybe if I swipe it instead *Doubles down and proceeds to swipe the cash through the magnetic strip reader* Bartender: Wow, you really are stupid. My friend is a 100% a goofball and having fun with the bartender. It was OBVIOUS that he was joking. Was it funny? A little. Was it stupid? 100%. But for the bartender or ANY customer service staff to call a paying customer "stupid", that's simply unacceptable. We're all pretty pissed at this point and simply swipe the card and the bartender leaves. As I said earlier, we've come here a few times. We don't live especially close, but when we're in the area, we would always consider coming here. Now, there's no chance. For any business, even if your drinks and food are great, customer service can easily DESTROY your experience and that's exactly what the bartender did. Note to the male bartender with no hair: You really shouldn't be interacting with customers. You were rude from the start and have no sense of humor. Could you be having a bad day? Sure, but that's not an excuse to be rude to customers. I know management saw my original post because it was removed, probably because I referred to the bartender by his hairstyle (or lack thereof) multiple times. If they rather remove my post than deal with their bartender, that's another sign to avoid this place.

The restaurant has a warm, inviting atmosphere with a beautiful design that strikes a nice balance between upscale and comfortable. It's the kind of place where you can settle in and enjoy a leisurely meal. We started with the roasted bone marrow, which was pure indulgence. I spread that rich, nutty, buttery goodness over the crispy toast points, and every bite was better than the last. Next came the prawns. The chefs did an outstanding job highlighting the natural umami from the shrimp head before the sweetness of the corn and shallots blended perfectly with the tender, succulent shrimp. It was a dish that kept evolving with every bite. The smoked short rib was the star of the meal. I asked for the sauce on the side, but it was clear the meat had already been cooked sous vide with the sauce, allowing those deep, savory flavors to fully penetrate every bite. The result was an incredibly tender short rib that practically melted in my mouth. Absolutely delicious. From the welcoming ambiance to the thoughtfully executed dishes, Fable and Spirit delivered a memorable dining experience. I'll definitely be making a return visit the next time I'm in the area.

It was hot and fresh, and contrasted very nicely with the burrata. I really wished they gave a bit more Chinese donut so that the ratio of cheese to dip was better.
