OMG this place is AMAZING. Service is amazing, food is made to perfection and views are beautiful!!!! Our server was fantastic and always came to check up on my boyfriend and I and kept refilling our water which we appreciated. Our food was delicious!! Everything was actually perfect. It was busy on a Friday night so it was kind of loud but it wasn't crazy loud or anything. Will 100% be back again for breakfast menu.
Celebrated a friend's birthday brunch here and had a very pleasant experience thanks to the spectacular service from our server (I forgot his name but he was excellent!) We sat outside and had a nice view of the pool. I got the poke bowl which was seasoned well and had plenty of chunks of fresh tuna. The sushi rice was vinegary and paired well with the diced creamy avocado and crunchy bits of crispy shallots. I also got the truffle fries which are to die for!! The fries aren't too thick nor thin; they are crispy on the outside and perfectly fluffy on the inside. The cotija and truffle bits on the outside slightly melt from the heat of the fries and stick to them. I would come back just for those. We also brought a cake to celebrate my friend's birthday which our server later mentioned there is a cake fee that he waived for us. So beware and ask ahead of time before bringing a cake... not sure if there really is a cake fee or he was just saying that.
the restaurant it self is absolutely beautiful... has a fantastic view of the ocean and they also have super pretty fire place on the outside patio perfect for a glass of wine on a date night. We got the bread and butter and the whipped ricotta (not pictured) and it was delishhhhhhh. the bread came with truffle butter which I never usually see and was a great touch to a simple thing, definitely elevated. I wasn't a fan of the cesar salad , it was very bland and the dressing tasted more like olive oil rather than cedar but the chicken was good. I really enjoyed the sauce on the crudo. the service here was also very good our server was great, we went to celebrate a friends birthday with 9 gals and the brought us all a glass of champaign and 3 mini chocolate mouse dishes(i'm not sure if this was complimentary for birthday or someone paid for this service ) never the less very nice! a good tip to note as well is they only do valet parking but if your just dining at the restaurant they do validate for 3 hours which is awesome! just make sure to tip your driver:)
Aldo is the best waiter ever and I would come back here in a heartbeat every night to see him because he is so attentive and wonderful and is so knowledgeable about food allergies! The food is OK, he is amazing.
I would give more stars if I could, I chose this place for my birthday with my friends and they were so accommodating with the reservations. They sat me outdoors with a view of the resort and were very attentive. They even went out of their way to slice my cake that I brought and plated it as well!!!! I was so happy with the level of service that they provided.
The View is a must try if your around the area ! The parking is kind of tricky but if you do valet parking it's free for the first 3 hours I believe or 2 you might need to double check that but my girlfriend and I diddnt pay . The service is top notch the restaurant is an upscale restaurant that treats each customer like royalty. The food tbh I did not get any food we just went for the views and the drinks but the drinks were perfect moderately priced not bad. Overall if you're looking for something romantic and private then you definitely have to check them out !
We are back w friends of mine this time to celebrate my anniversary and Christmas. I told my friends about the breakfast quality and flavors when we experienced the foods in February for my B day. There are lots of people waiting for the tables during holiday season. Busy busy everywhere outdoor pool area, the VIEW restaurant, and Edge bar. I planned to have dinner just husband and I on Sunday. The menu is quite simple. Not much selections for the dinner but I liked croquettes w gruyère as an appetizer, then chose rigatoni bolonaise for the entrée. It took lots of time to have our first appetizer. I was starving to the death after swimming. Not many chefs are working at night???? Sooooo slow! But the croquettes were so tasty, crunchy, full of potatoes w gruyère cheese. Loved! For the rigatoni, obviously took a long time....I asked the staff when can I have our rigatoni bolonaise. Wow!!! So slow!!! However, rigatoni was well cooked, flavorful, well balanced w brocollinis. That was our dinner experience on Sunday. Next morning we planned to have breakfast together at 10:15. Waiting for the party of 4. I noticed immediately the breakfast menu was updated. I wanted the same Denver Omelette but not anymore on the menu, replaced w omelette Lorraine. For me, I am ok to take other omelettes as long as the omelette w ham, bacon, cheese, and some veggies including tomatoes. My friends and my hubby had the same 2 eggs, sausages, wheat breads w regular coffee. They all said so fresh and good. Thank God!! They liked the breakfast at the VIEW. I recommended this restaurant so many times. To be honest, last time I had wheat breads in my omelette plate. And French marmalade and Fraise (raspberry) confitures were on the table. I couldn't find any preserves on the table this time. No where.... nothing. I asked the server, can I get the French preserves like orange marmalade many times. Wow!!! I can't think about the Tartine without the butter and preserve in the morning. So weird!! Overall, the foods were good but I wanted to have the same Denver Omelette, wheat breads w orange marmalade. I know the menu is always changed, updated by season, but almost same ingredients to cook the omelette. I have no idea....only one option for the omelette. Why??? I didn't ask for the wheat breads but should come together w omelette thou. When I recommend some restaurants, I was so happy about the foods, services, then I wanted to come again to try my fave foods. Hopefully the menu will be added Denver Omelette w breads, of course, French or English preserves too.

It lacked so much flavor even with salt and pepper and I didn't like it. I ended up sending it back and how it taken it off my bill. My friend got the chicken millions and she really enjoyed it. My other friend got the lobster roll and she said it lacked Lester flavor as well. Overall, that was a consensus. The drinks were good though. It is a bit pricey, but it is a very nice upscale and chic place. Plenty of places for photo opportunities. Service was great. No complaints there. The food just wasn't it for me.
Loveeeed the View. They do valet here, so bring your ticket with you because the restaurant will validate you. Free parking! Upon arrival, we had no reservations and were seated promptly. Our server came by and took our order. The menu is super limited I'm NGL. So if you're picky, maybe this place isn't for you. Lunch options were poke bowl, burger, turkey club, salads, vegan bolognese. Luckily, they do have gluten free bread. My mom ordered the turkey club on gluten free bread. She said it was nothing special, but brownie points for having GF bread! Tons of fries which was nice. She also ordered a Carrot Ginger Soup which she loved and thought was very flavorful. I ordered the Poke Bowl and found the portion to be great. Super flavorful! Just ask for soy sauce. The view from the patio is beautiful. You can see the pool and the golf course greenery. This is definitely a grate place for a photo-op. The vibes are elite. Drinks are also bomb-diggity. Don't remember what I got but it was flavorful and strong.

Went there for some late night bites after our anniversary, we got the oysters, truffle fries, and some poke nachos and they tasted amazing! Staff were extremely nice and helpful and brought out a complimentary dessert to celebrate our anniversary together. Overall, I would recommend this place if you like an intimate and quiet evening :)
Valentines dinner was beautiful and delicious! I loved their squash soup and my favorite was the dessert. I love how all the ladies were given a long stem rose. Such a romantic meal. I loved every minute of it.
Wish I found this place sooner! We wanted to go to a nice brunch restaurant that had a 10/10 vibe and this place checked all the boxes! We ordered a ribeye Benedict, aperol spritz and some pancakes which were all to die for. Make sure to ask for view seating during the day because it was such a great atmosphere. Valet is also free if you're dining there which was great. Can't wait to go back!
I'm in love with the firecracker sushi roll. That is a 10/10 sushi roll NO JOKE. You MUST order it Everything else was pretty average on the menu. The service was very slow, despite the resturaunt being nearly empty on a Saturday night. For the price point, everything was mid-tier, other than the firecracker roll..it was just so insanely good. The desserts were delicious tbh. The dubai chocolate mousse is soooooo good. Ambiance is great! They don't call it "View" for nothing. read more
Love this spot. Great views, beautiful and clean place. The service was excellent, thanks to Aldo for treating us so well. Highly recommend this spot. The food was amazing we loved the shigoku oysters . Oysters tasted fresh and delicious. We also loved the poke bowl and the firecrackers roll, the chili oil gave it an amazing taste. Surprisingly good breakfast and service for a hotel. The patio also had amazing views. On the pricier side but service, food quality and ambiance were all great. My hashbrowns were half overcooked but everything was fresh and hot. It's valet only at the hotel but they validate with 3 hours at the restaurant. read more

Had breakfast here after our stay this weekend. I ordered the breakfast sandwich (pork belly, arugula, onions on a ciabatta) and my husband had the breakfast burrito (eggs, avocado, and chorizo). We both enjoyed our meals! As someone who is picky about sandwiches and can't have bread that is too crunchy, I was pleased with their ciabatta. Pork belly was so tasty and the onions were sweet and caramelized. I wasn't a fan of the smoothie but my husband loved it! I'm not big on sour drinks and the drink was a bit sour with the berries and yogurt mix. Not bad, but not for me. We didn't have to wait long for our seat and we sat at one of the fire pit tables. It was a bit big for 2 people (6 chairs) but think it would be difficult for 6 people to eat breakfast. We didn't mind and loved the view! Excellent spot for drinks and appetizers but wouldn't want to sit at this table for a full on dinner. Plenty of other seating options throughout the restaurant if you are with a group. read more
Came here for breakfast while staying at the hotel. Sat outside overlooking the pool And ocean. Ordered coffee and breakfast. Greek yogurt bowl with granola and fruit was very good. Eggs breakfast was good. Hash browns were especially good. Avocado toast with an egg was exceptional. Prices typical of a hotel restaurant. Service was very good as well. read more

Great location with a great view... While everything started out great at View Restaurant and Lounge located at the VEA Newport Beach hotel, the service was beyond slow. Drinks and french fries were great, and the servers were super nice, but they just couldn't handle the crowd. read more

Atmosphere: Absolutely gorgeous spot to unwind. We came on a Sunday & it was perfectly chill: glowing pool, medium-volume beats setting the mood, & multiple fireplaces adding cozy ambiance. Both indoor & outdoor areas are stunning, with beautiful chairs & tables that make you want to linger. If you're a "vibes" person, this is the place. Service: Wonderful! Our server checked on us multiple times without hovering, making sure we always had what we needed. Friendly, attentive, & genuinely kind..the kind of service that makes you feel well taken care of. Food: We started with the asiago bread & miso apple butter..just perfection. The right balance of sour/tart & decadent. The Caesar salad had a subtle hint of sweetness that made it stand out from the usual. The ginger carrot soup with Thai basil & coconut milk was thicker than expected & had a slight kick to it from the large pieces of fried shallot crunching in your teeth- really good. We split the poke bowl with yellowtail..fantastic. Crunchy texture from the fried shallots & crispy garlic, lightly sweet (which we prefer), with two types of seaweed, edamame for added protein, & high-quality sushi rice. Drinks: Loved the What Up Doc & the Zentini..both delicious, light, and refreshing. Extras: Complimentary valet was such a nice touch! easy drop-off and pickup. Downsides: The only downside was that both the indoor bar Reveal & the outdoor pool bar had limited hours, so they were closed during our visit. We came to experience dinner + a night cap at a different venue within the property, so we were a bit disappointed the online hours didn't reflect reality Overall: Beautiful ambiance, excellent service, & delicious food & cocktails..this spot is a total vibe. We'll absolutely be back, especially when both bars are open! read more
Enjoyed brunch today at View restaurant located inside VEA hotel in Newport Beach. Amazing panoramic view of the coast and overlooking the Newport Beach golf course. I ordered the Huevos Rancheros. It was actually very tasty, love the combination of green and red sauce on top with guacamole. Service was excellent ! read more

Have been here for a few times. The reasons for us to come back again and again not just because of the beautiful view but also the BEST service every time we visit. The interesting part is we had different server at our table each time but overall they are just super friendly and attentive!!! It's so consistently great! Today, Brandon was our host, he was so helpful and did so much for us from the beginning to the end!! He deserves a great tip from his outstanding service and we truly appreciated him!! Also we had BEST valet service from Nater..He also is so amazing! He went extra mile to get me info and details for the recommendation spot in Newport area!! Hotel Vea has the best employee and management.. everyone here is just simply nice! read more

The ambiance at the restaurant was basically the reason I wanted to visit, and it did not fall short. The restaurant is beautiful, the staff is friendly and the VIEW is pretty good. The restaurant is on the second floor, so the view wasn't what I expected, but it was still nice. I thought it was higher up, and had a view that lived up to it's name. You still get a nice partial ocean view in the distance, but it was hard to tell on a cloudy day like when I went. The food was mediocre. Not many choices if you have dietary restrictions, and their website menu is out of date, so some of the options I would have been able to eat were no longer available. It was almost expected, however, with a hotel restaurant. I came for the vibes. :) The Lobster Garganelle was underwhelming. The pasta was a bit too al dente and there was not nearly enough of the lobster cream sauce, so bites of dry pasta here and there. Definitely not enough lobster in there, either. The side of wild mushrooms was good, but nothing special. The Dungeness Crab Salad was my favorite from the three. The crab was really tasty, and the avocado vinaigrette was delicious. It was a pretty poor salad, though; just some cucumbers topped with cherry tomatoes and then the crab. I do appreciate the large, perfectly ripened cherry tomatoes, though. Anyway, it's a nice place for a gathering or evening out, but it's pricey. read more

For a restaurant, the prices are pretty expensive. For a restaurant at a 5 star resort, the prices are reasonable. It's fine if you're staying at VEA and just want a restaurant with good ambiance to sit down and relax. But otherwise I wouldn't go out of my way to come here. FRENCH TOAST - 5/5 The french toast was amazing. The bread was thick in volume but it didn't feel thick and heavy. It was fluffy and not too sweet. DENVER OMELET - 5/5 The omelet is pretty decent. It's nothing unique, but it's still a very good omelet. The hash browns it came with were very light and crispy and the bread was deliciously crispy and chewy at the same time. BANANA GRANOLA - 4/5 It's exactly what you'd expect with granola and yogurt paired with fruits. It's decent but nothing special. It came with a good bit of fruits. I just wish it comes with more yogurt as the granola to yogurt ratio was not balanced. WAGYU SKEWERS - 3/5 The flavor of the skewers were alright, but the meat was too dry. BABY KALE SALAD - 3/5 This was alright and nothing special. CRUNCHY ROLL - 3/5 This was alright and nothing special. WILD MUSHROOMS - 3/5 This was alright and nothing special. read more

I recently dined at *View Restaurant and Lounge* in the VEA Hotel, and I have to say, it was an extraordinary experience from start to finish. The food was absolutely amazing, but what truly stood out was the impeccable service. And that says a lot, given how delicious every dish was! We tried the curry lettuce wraps, the short rib with potatoes, and the naan, each bite bursting with incredible flavor. To top off our meal, we had the most exquisite cheesecake, perfectly complemented by a pistachio dust and crust. It was a memorable culinary experience, to say the least. On top of the phenomenal food, the views are breathtaking, making it an ideal spot to unwind and take in the beauty of Southern California. What truly made our visit unforgettable, however, was the exceptional service. Our server, Jay, was attentive and warm, while the restaurant manager, Justin, went above and beyond to ensure our experience was flawless. Their hospitality made us feel incredibly welcome. I highly recommend *View Restaurant and Lounge* to anyone in Southern California or those visiting the area. Whether you're looking for a lovely brunch with friends or simply a place to enjoy exceptional food in a serene atmosphere, this place will exceed your expectations. A beautiful restaurant with great staff. The ambiance is amazing and it isn't pretentious. Everything was set perfectly, I did not have to wait long to be seated after checking in with my reservation. I had sushi and the cheese board along with a sweet drink. Ambiance: A Beautiful hotel and decorated wonderfully, and unique/ show stopping art instillations Food: B- Everything we got tasted well but we were a little dissatisfied with the amount of food items available on the menu. The drink menu was great and they all came out beautiful. Service: D+ Our server was missing for half of the time when we were looking to order food items or drinks or even get the check. Great food. Super ambiance! I had cabernet and pork-belly. Both were super! Shishito and colorful bell pepper slices with sweet and tangy sauce with peanuts. Super. It was a bit chilly sitting outside looking pool, but I loved it. Recommend anyone who's in the area or nice dinner alone. Perfect place. Very friendly service. read more
