I actually found Arden Courts in Winter Springs by mistake. I had been given directions to another…read morefacility nearby, but when I saw the Arden Courts sign and my GPS said I'd arrived, I pulled in. I'm so grateful I did. I missed my next appointment because I was given a tour and immediately knew this was the right place for my mom. The community is small, warm, and easy to navigate -- it feels like a home, not an institution. I love the intimate dining rooms and the individual living areas for each hall. Shan'a and her assistant Aixa are fantastic about keeping in touch and are always easy to reach for even minor questions. The nurses call with any updates or changes, which gives me so much peace of mind. I had been my mom's caregiver in my home, so I know firsthand how hard this job is. Arden Courts has a terrific management team and caregivers who truly care. Many of them have been there a long time -- Bernice, Jaquice, Gigi, and Kate have all given my mom so much attention and affection. My mom no longer speaks and mostly communicates with a smile, but every caregiver still stops to greet her and often gives her a hug. She's also a fall risk and likes to get up at night so she doesn't "miss anything" -- she has always been this way. The evening shift lets her stay with them in the dining room while they finish their tasks, then they tuck her into bed when she starts getting sleepy. That kind of flexibility and compassion is rare, and it means a great deal to me. Before Arden Courts, she lived in an assisted living community with her husband and complained about the food constantly. Now she enjoys her meals and the special activities the staff plans. About once a month, they host a family event, which is such a thoughtful way to bring everyone together. My daughter says it feels like a sorority house -- and honestly, I love that image. Arden Courts has been a blessing, and I'm so grateful for the care and warmth they've shown my mom.

They even managed to get him to participate in activities, when at first he was not fond of. But they kept inviting him, and they never gave up. They found meds that helped calm his agitation, and that made us all so happy! Everyone on staff has been awesome, and they communicate often, which was so helpful. I was at ease when I knew my dad was being so well taken care of. The facility is spacious, clean and "homey". My dad loved to walk, they have a large outside walking court, which he used often. I am so thankful for Arden Courts!!!

Don't be deceived by the photos. Go behind the scenes. Severe maintenance issues. Cobwebs abound…read more Many broken, damaged fixtures, faucets missing knobs, toilet tissue holders broken for weeks. Painting needed Several staff were compassionate ( and saved the day for Mgt) however many were not ( on their phones). Memory Care quality very lacking as if a patient is incontinent, unless you're there and push the staff to toilet/change them, they sit there or lie in their bed for hours. Don't expect them to help getting their teeth brushed either. Long story but you're lucky if they get it done. UNLESS you push the issue. Food mediocre at best. Activity provided but if a patient is unable to participate no effort to help or get them engaged. Staff to patient ratio very low. This area had about 20 patients and no more than two staff so if one was busy with meds or changing a patient, the other was responsible for everything else like entering or exiting visitor due to the lockdown policy. Forget the positive online reviews and if you tour, ask other visitors their thoughts. Maybe AL is satisfactory but MC is way below expectations.

The front desk could not have been kinder and accommodating, and meeting the director on duty (on a weekend I might add) for the first time really put us at ease. I appreciate mtce being so willing to help me get settled for the move in, even letting me borrow tools to assemble furniture! Their activities director is a special person, I can't get her positive attitude and smile out of my head, your loved one will be lucky to have her. Their Sales Director was also amazing, she walked us through the process, went out of her way to give us a video tour the same day we spoke for the first time (that meant a LOT to us) and then worked us through all the initial paperwork. We couldn't be happier with the care my father in law is receiving, this is a great facility made so by the incredible staff.

Our mother is even starting to make friends, which was something we didn't think was possible. A big shoutout to Tiana and Shantae for always being availabe to support our entire family as we navigate this challenging life phase for a beloved family member. Anytime we have needed anything, Tiana is there (even on her days off!) to provide support of every kind.

As the court-appointed guardian of a resident, I became increasingly concerned about the quality of…read morecare and communication at this facility. During visits, I observed issues involving room cleanliness, organization of personal belongings, and what appeared to be a lack of attention to changes in my family member's condition. I also observed significant skin irritation and scratching that ultimately resulted in emergency medical evaluation after concerns were raised with her physician. Following hospitalization, additional medical conditions were identified that required treatment and infection-control precautions. As a result of the concerns I observed regarding care, sanitation, communication, and medical oversight, reports were submitted to state regulators and Adult Protective Services for review. Every family's experience may differ, but my recommendation is that loved ones visit frequently, document concerns, ask detailed questions regarding skin conditions, infections, changes in behavior, and ensure they are actively involved in care planning. I hope the facility takes all concerns seriously and continues working to improve the quality of care provided to vulnerable residents.

When I went to see her shortly after she got there, she was sitting in a wheelchair in the hallway with her head down, pretty drugged up and when she saw me, she cried and said "I'm so glad you're here" because she had to go to the bathroom. I couldn't get anybody to help me get her to the bathroom several times that I went there. At one point they said well she can just go in her diaper! My mother has never been incontinent a day in her life. Although she got used to peeing in her "diaper" when she was there! They would leave her sit and not check on her. Also, because of her dementia, she doesn't feed herself very well. I would go in hours after lunch was served and her food would be sitting there not touched. No one would come in and feed her. There were probably two workers that seemed to care about the patients. One had already given his notice to this hell hole! It was one of the top ones on the list of facilities to choose from. I have no idea how that happened! It is a horrible horrible place. If you care about your loved one, do not let them go there!
