After being unable to get appointments with the vet we found prior on Yelp, and seeing the writing on the wall for the issues they're having, I found Willowbrook here. From the VERY first phone call, to make an appointment for Miles for an annual check-up, and his vaccinations, to bringing him in the entire staff I interacted with has been wonderful. Karen is the front of house, office manager and does all the administration. She advised me that they do require a $75 deposit, which is non-refundable, but applied to your visit. She answered all of my questions and took all of our information. When I arrived for our appointment, we were taken in right on time (they came and got Miles from the car,) and within a few minutes Dr. Kristin Trerise called me to let me know all about Miles health and we spoke and together came up with a plan. I felt like she included me and discussed his health and moving forward, his future treatments, as he needs his teef cleaned since they are a bit icky!!! From parking to receiving my puppy back, we were in and out in about 35 minutes. I love the on time, punctual staff because my time is important as is theirs. I really liked the staff, felt like we had good communication and appreciated the punctuality. I haven't experienced all three of these at a vet for my dog yet! So I hope we are FINALLY done searching as I really like Willowbrook. The ONLY reason I can't give 5 stars YET is because I'd like to be able to go in with my boy and meet everyone. We absolutely adore the staff here, their receptionist Karen is outstanding. Our now 1.5 year old yellow labrador retriever has been seen here since he was 8 weeks old. They have been extremely kind and patient with us, I tend to be a bit of a hover parent and call/email them with every tiny concern I have. With their guidance we have a very healthy pup. We have been taking our dogs here since we moved to the are, and we are so happy with them. Our dogs LOVE going to the vet! They are always there to answer questions, and often can get me same-day prescriptions too! They have great advice for rehabilitation after my dog had TPLO surgery, and great referral services for when my other dog had a rare salivary gland issue. They send out reminders for vaccinations and wellness exams too. And, when one of my dogs needed a broken tooth extraction, not only did the surgery go perfectly, but they also did a full dental cleaning too. The staff is very kind and the physician is very knowledge. Vet bills gets expensive fast (my first half of injections and annual check up with a heart worm test was about $285) so I need to understand the necessity of everything and he did a better job then most vets my 5 year old dog has been to. We're originally from California and my dog had a intense allergic reaction to one of the shots that is common in Oregon, but not in Southern California. The care and medicine was free to treat her reaction and they told me if she goes to the ER that night to bring them the receipt. Luckily that didn't happen and she was just sick for a couple days, but nice to know. read more

First of all, I called many places to see if I can take my cat in and this one was the fastest. The staffs are all friendly and nice. I took my cat in late afternoon, after they took my cat inside 10 minutes later I got a phone call from a vet told me that they have found out why my cat was acting weird and being quiet. He is hurting his left leg. His left front leg got swollen maybe from a fight with neighbors cat. And soon after he come home with pain medication, antibiotics and inflammation. The price is reasonable comparing to the hospital I took him earlier (4-5days) I paid too much for that hospital and the vet said he was fine. They didn't even physical exam him if they've done they should see that he has scar on this left leg. anyway, I would recommend Willowbrook and be definitely bring my cat back here if need! read more

So far every staff members we met are very warm and caring professionals. No matter how busy and stressful they must get dealing with all kind of situations with both animals and their owners, they are always calm and courtesies. Organization must be providing them solid employees trainings and educations. We are impressed. But we are not too sure about one veterinarian who might be educated, skilled and experienced. But this vet is impatient and lack wisdom to know how to talk with you(pet owners), when you share your thoughts or opinion. He easily gets upset if you don't agree or obey what he wants you to do. We have taken dogs to Willowbrook for several years now. They are the best! Our puppy's kidneys didn't develop properly. We went to Willowbrook for a second consultation. While the diagnosis wasn't good, Willowbrook went to great lengths to help us find the right food, and to help us administer fluids on a weekly basis. There efforts likely extended the life of our puppy and helped improve her quality of life. They took great care of our puppy at Willowbrook. The staff is very friendly and was very accommodating to our schedules. We worked with Dr. Leon and he was very knowledgeable. I will not becoming back here. The staff is very nice with animals but don't play well with humans. They are extremely judgemental and do not listen to what the owner is saying. A while back my dog got a yeast infection in her ear. They treated her once but it wasn't enough ($200), so we went back again they gave her the same medicine and it seemed to almost do the trick (another $200). There was some gunk still left in her ear so I called to see if there was any way we could just get another dose of medicine to get the rest gone. The lady making the appointments explained to me the doctor would want to see her before giving more medicine, to which I said I couldn't afford the extra cost of a visit plus her meds and flea meds etc. And that I could wait. She assured me that the office visit was free and they just want to look in her ear. So i made an appointment. I came in and they took us into the room where the nurse started to take swabs of her ear and I told her I couldn't afford to do testing and I just needed the refill and flea meds. She tried to push the testing on me and after a few more times of saying no she went to talk with the doctor. I could hear everything they were saying and it was extremely judgmental and made me feel very uncomfortable. The doc came in and also tried to push other testings on me and I explained again I couldn't afford it at the moment. She then tried to pressure me by putting fear into me (obviously we all have dogs because we love them and would never want anything bad to happen to them) but I explained again I didn't have the extra funds at the moment and I would have to wait until the first to do any testing but I could keep an eye on her ear.. Long story short she didn't give me meds said her ear looked a lot better. She did say in the exam room she would give me ear cleaning solution, but when the bill came up they charged me for the solution, as well as the exam fee! I didn't even say anything about the solution, but I did say Hey I was told this exam was free. They explained to me I must have misunderstood because the doctors time is valuable. I told them no there was not misunderstanding thats exactly what I was told or I would have never come for a visit I would have just come to pick up the flea meds. She said the best she could do was discount it and just kept trying to make it seem like I misunderstood or even made it up by saying no one here would ever say that. To which I told them who ever was answering phones at 8am is who they would need to retrain so she wouldn't be giving out false information. The doc handed me the medicine and then immediately went into the back (still visible) to talk negatively about me. Which was not the first time. It was the thrid!!! Once when I declined the nurse to do testing, then when she was getting the flea meds she was whispering about me with another nurse, and lastly after our big "misunderstanding". I told her I won't be coming back her response was a big wow. Very passive aggresively rude and extremely judgmental. No dog parent wants to be made to feel that they are being bad parents. Especially when you love your pup like a child. If you have a lot of money to fork over then go here but if you are looking to get things done on a schedule that will not be breaking the bank each time, this isn't the place for you! read more

I did a ton of research for an awesome vet before bringing home my puppy. Willowbrook was able to get my fur baby in for an exam the day after I brought her home. They had a ton of information for me, including the best foods to feed her and what vaccinations she would need. We have had two appointments and so far I love the staff. We had a scare. Someway/somehow after our kitten's routine spay surgery she got aspiration pneumonia. I am a little bit of an obsessive animal lady. I am a them like my babies type. I work in animal rescue however and I understand the clinical side of things having seen it first hand often. Things like this happen. Even when it's rare and even when it's scary and even when you want to make sure it wasn't your fault. What I didn't expect, was Dr Leon's generosity in helping us during our emergency. Dr Leon showed a side of veterinary practice I haven't yet seen (having spent thousands and thousands on my animals and not necessarily having the best paying job at the moment). Additionally, we haven't even met him in person yet!! We lost our animal rescue jobs to Covid and moved out to Oregon because it was so dog friendly!!! but we lost one of our rescue pups a month in to unsuspecting brain cancer. A little while after, we adopted our Mazzy.... so rushing Mazzy to the emergency vet to have them KEEP HER for nearly two days WAS verrrry EMOTIONAL FOR ME!! I couldn't lose another baby!! Thankfully, Tualatin Emergency Vet and Dr Leon teamed up to save my baby and I just can't thank them enough. Well, Dr. Leon really has shown he's just a dang tootin' GOOD person. I look forward to being able to bring my babies here knowing someone with great character is taking care of them. We have had a good experience when our golden needed immediate care...We were advised surgery not necessary when a fatty tumor in my dogs neck wasn't of concern surgery estimate 637 now it great and I've 1000...I asked my prescriptions to.be filled by pet meds ..They stalled ...Causing delay to my dogs health ..There meds 62 dollars pet meds 27 .. Very annoyed last bill almost 400 for 3rd needle aspiration and 4th blood work...Doctor seems to scam and get most for 20 minute visit read more

Everyone is super friendly and helpful, no one tries to up sell and they are very forthcoming about what is necessary and what is optional. A great choice if you are looking for a small local veterinarian. The vet was helpful and understanding when I brought my VERY elderly cat (who I had had since I was seven) in to be seen a few years ago. She had recently gone blind and was having heart trouble and ended up passing away a short time later. I was in school and working two jobs at the time so I was unable to go in for the visit and my husband had to bring our cat in and was also impressed by the care of the staff. We used Willowbrook for 8 of the 10 years we had our dog. Let me start by dealing with the end. When our dog reached the end of his life EVERYONE at Willowbrook was so incredibly nice, supportive and understanding. I can't imagine this being handled any better by anyone else. We were able to have honest discussion about where we were at with our dog, treatment option - and how realistic they really were, etc. When our dog eventually died they treated him (and us) with such compassion and caring. They made a donation in his memory to a veterinarian college - getting the card from the college telling us about the donation really helped our family deal with the grief. All this death stuff aside, Willowbrook was great and we never had an issue during the @8 years we had them care for our dog. read more

This is an unusual circumstance but I feel it's indicative of the compassion, empathy, and professionalism this facility clearly lacks. A car in front of me hit a dog and didn't stop. It was a small, tan, older female dog. She was still breathing so I took her here but she passed on the way. I took her in and they scanned for a chip, which she had, but it wasn't registered. As a dog owner I know I would want closure so I had her cremated and ashes returned in hopes of finding the owner to give them to. I located the owners today through Bonnie Hayes shelter as they had filed a lost dog report. I called the owner and explained what happened to her and what I did with her. They were very appreciative of it all and I told them I would let the vet know that they would be picking up her remains. I text the vet clinic as the tech had taken pics of her for me to post and try and find the owner and text to me. I told them I located the owner and they would pick up her ashes when ready. This is the text I received back: Sir you paid for the cremation and brought in the dog. I think it is fair of us to ask you to pick up the remains and bring them to the owners YOU found. I'm shocked and perplexed at the tone and substance of that response. Unbelievably unprofessional and callous as well. Out of respect for the poor dog who deserved better than to be left for dead on the side of the road as well as the understandably upset owners I will pick up her ashes and give to them. That said, I will never do business with this vet again and I would caution others about their lack of professionalism and compassion. Unheard of in this arena and I will ensure everyone I know is aware of their callous attitude. read more

We've been going to WB since Kuba was a puppy and the customer service and veterinary care has been outstanding. After discussing her symptoms, Willbrook Vet Hospital made accommodations for us to be seen right away. They took reasonable and appropriate steps to address my dog's issues, didn't try to up sale any services to me, and were promptly responsive to my follow-up questions. We have gone to Willowbrook for years, we LOVED the previous, now retired, doctor. Now it's the same front staff (love them) and a new veterinarian. The new vet was advising us on our dog's new diet (chicken & rice) and then she looked at me & said, "You know you can't feed her Kentucky Fried, right?" SERIOUSLY? This was our first meet & greet. I may be a few pounds overweight but I certainly don't look like I eat buckets of chicken. I was dressed casual, but not slobby, and our precious ill dog was super clean. I was already upset because of my old & ailing dog's health problems; we didn't need such a weird insensitive comment. We will NOT be going back. read more

I recently got a frenchie puppy and moved into the area, the vets at Willowbrook had the best reviews and, after visiting several times, I can attest that they have upheld their reputation. Dennis Leon, vet, is incredibly friendly and kind. He never seems rushed when I ask excessive questions and he takes time to address my concerns. He provides additional information and has emailed me books and videos to help with the nuances of training. I am very thankful for all that he has done. The assistants have all been very kind and helpful as well. I feel like I can trust everyone here and they take the time to love and appreciate my pup. I've had many animals and vets historically all through california and oregon, but Willowbrook is my favorite and operates at a very high standard of care. read more

This was our first visit to Willowbrook, and it wasn't on good terms. Our Aussie mix rescue dog, Molly, was on her last legs. She was such a sweet and wonderful dog, but she had something amiss in her immune system and a nasty fungus had got a hold of her. We had been to several other veterinarians in the area with misdiagnoses or just lack of capability to treat her. We educated ourselves and found immune boosters for her which helped her fight off the fungal invasion for several months, but then it came back full force, and it was just eating her from the inside. We nursed her the best we could, but she was loosing her fight. She had what they called nasal aspergillosis, where the aspergillious fungus roots in the dog's sinuses, and she was having massive nasal discharge and it was migrating to her mouth. She didn't seem to be in pain, but was clearly losing her battle, having trouble breathing, and we were afraid she was going to suffocate in her sleep. So, we decided to have her put down and save her the trauma of what was to come. We made an appt. at Willowbrook, for they are right around the corner from our house. I didn't even know they were there. The people were so nice and understanding, and they wanted to look at Molly to see what they could do before agreeing to put her down. The onsite vet was very nice... she reviewed all of Molly's history, gave her a quick examination, and came to the same conclusion we did. She was so nice about it, and made Molly feel calm and at ease. We were the only ones in at that time, so the place was quiet. Molly passed gently and quickly. WVH was professional and knowledgeable in all they did, but what we found out later was what totally amazed us. After learning of Molly's passing, the founder of WVH, Dr. Quin Christensen, made a generous donation to the Pet Memorial Program at the Oregon State University College of Veterinary Medicine. How touching and outstanding!!! We received a compassionate 'we're sorry for your loss' and thank you card from OSU letting us know of the donation. I've never heard of such a generous and personal touch! Thank you Dr. Christensen, and thank you, too, to the doctor on staff that day and the personnel!! Recently switched to this vet after many years somewhere else. They neutered our kitten at a very reasonable price. Then today we had an emergency (kitten found a needle & thread and tried to swallow it.) We rushed him to Willobrook, after calling to say we were coming. They were ready for him when we got there and quickly took care of him. Again, not that price is a factor when it comes to your pets, but it was very reasonable once again.....quality care at a reasonable price is why I like this vet clinic. read more

I really like this vet. I took my mini-dachshund in for a ripped claw/fractured toe. They took good care of him during surgery & he had good follow up care.
