Even though it did not end up working out for me (due to issues with the airline) Kendra Lee was BEYOND helpful. She took an overwhelming situation and turned it into an experience that allowed me to feel supported when I had to travel on my own and leave my dog and was offered to care for my dog while I'm gone. It's not heard of and also not part of the package of my care to board my dog, but she had enough compassion for me and understood that I was at an impasse and helped out. I have loved Hannah's for a long time. When it comes to the Portland location, I still do. You can tell they have employees who care. Unfortunately I cannot say the same about the Tigard location, the 24/7 emergency location that you have to go to when things are maybe more serious or overnight stay is needed. Myself and another family member have now both had very unpleasant experiences when our Dogs had to come here for what could have been life threatening moments. The employees here seem uninterested and unbothered with their jobs. There is absolutely no urgency to pick up the phone or call people back (even when there is fear of death with the animals). For example, I called at 10AM asking for an update on my dog's condition and by 4PM had still heard nothing from anybody. Other times they just didn't answer at all after multiple calls and never called back. To the point where the only option left was to just show up at the location. It also seems like most people at this location are clueless. Two different employees will tell you two different things, suggesting there is no communication happening. Or one will just guess and tell you inaccurate information altogether. And I'm wondering why it seems like none of these employees have any knowledge or training when it comes to dealing with very anxious and scared pet parents. You are dealing with family pets and life or death situations, this is not a grocery store. This wouldn't be okay at a human hospital, it shouldn't be okay at a pet hospital. If you don't like the work you do, then find different work. Dont take up space in a facility where urgency and genuine care are vital. I am saddened we have given so much money over the years and this is our experince when it really matters. I'm writing this review to share my deeply disappointing experience with both the Portland and Tigard Hannah Pet Hospital locations, as well as to advocate for Queenie and all future pet owners who may consider bringing their pets here. My beloved cat, Queenie, was only 9 months old when she passed away under their care a month ago, and the way this has been handled has left my family and I absolutely devastated. We brought Queenie in for a spay surgery, and she returned to us in a completely different state--completely disconnected from her mind and eyes, and avoiding us at all cost. At Portland, we were sent home with assurances that she was fine to return, despite our concerns about her lack of appetite and severe dehydration days after her surgery. Dr. Aldo Mata, who saw her that day, mentioned issues with her gallbladder and possibly her liver, yet reassured us she'd be fine after administering more medications. We were told she'd improve by the morning, but she continued to worsen as hours passed. It was clear to us that red flags were missed, and she died in the most tragic and traumatic way, leaving us in complete devastation and immense trauma that even calling them triggers flashbacks from that day, leaving me in tears after I get off the phone. Since her passing, the communication from both locations has been way too quiet for way too long. We've reached out multiple times, but each time we've only received minimal updates from front desk staff, never from the actual doctors. Despite numerous promises that a doctor would call to explain what happened, we've heard nothing for over a month. We weren't even contacted about letting us know that her ashes were ready (God knows how long they've waited...). It's truly unfathomable how little regard they have for us as grieving pet owners. Losing Queenie has been an indescribable heartbreak, but the lack of compassion and responsibility from the staff has made it even worse. It has shaken my trust in their ability to care for animals and support grieving pet owners. Since her death, there hasn't been a day where I haven't stopped crying. It has deeply affected our whole family, and our Christmas and New Year's were overshadowed by the pain of her sudden passing. Queenie deserved better, and for a clinic that claims to care for pets as if they're their own, it's painfully ironic that they failed her so terribly. It seems clear to me that they used the holiday season to avoid accountability, and that makes the situation even harder to accept and bear as the days go on. I sincerely hope this review prompts the clinic to reevaluate their practices, particularly their communication and aftercare procedures. No one should have to go through this level of neglect. If you're considering this clinic, please do yourself and your pet a favor--ask thorough questions about their care and follow-up procedures. I would not wish this experience on anyone, and I strongly encourage you to read through other reviews online and on other sites before making a decision. This comes from a very hard and heartfelt place. Hannah was literally the worst decision we could've ever made for our dog. I would never imagine the lack of care, courtesy, and overall kindness when it comes from a veterinary office, but apparently I was proved wrong. We started our sweet girl at Hannah when she was nine months old hearing so many great reviews from two of our friends who had pets at Hannah. Her surgery was the first negative interaction we had after the ghosting numerous times from their training coordinator (Tigard - Poppy though at Portland was amazing) for which we never actually got our pup into any kind of training ever at Hannah, but definitely not lack of trying. After her spay surgery, she was sent home with a cone and some medication that didn't have any kind of instructions or anything on the actual labels. When I called the front desk to find out what her medication care would be I was met with laughter and the comment of "you don't need to be so emotional. It's just a dog" while I was upset and crying about how much pain my dog was in, it was the most insensitive interaction I've ever been a part of. I was told that person no longer works for them, but it doesn't matter. Over the course of many months and then years, our pup had one dental treatment, which was the most ridiculous situation. The procedure is drop off your dog at six in the morning only to have the procedure done later that afternoon and your pup be kenneled the whole time until you can pick them up around 4 PM that day. Kenneled the entire time is not OK! Apparently emergencies and dogs who have other needs are first and they are just left in the kennel all day except for maybe an hour procedure (then why schedule the dental like that then) The icing on the cake was when my dog went in for some routine vaccines that had previously been administered just fine, and we were in a little exam room each time, she has quite a bit of anxiety and having me in there really helps. This time it was not done in a little exam room, it was done in the main area where all the other dogs are for procedures and what not so of course my dog had a lot of anxiety seeing all these other dogs and what not. Turns out because she wasn't cooperating like they wanted and instead of coming to get me, one of the nurses got on top of her while another one administered the shot. Of course my dog is yelping and upset from being sat on and held down to which I promptly told the front receptionist to get my dog NOW because we were going home. After that, it was months of battling the cancellation fee and canceling in general, after being told people are no longer there or they had different management whatever it might've been, anything to just simply keep my money instead of taking care of our dog. Even more so they don't keep good records of any of their vaccinations or prior appointments, I've had to talk to numerous people to try to get records transferred or or any kind of clear communication on what kind of vaccines she was actually given during her time there. So now following up with that, we go to a normal vet who gives a shit about animals and doesn't see them as a price tag. She's got a lot of things she needs now. She needed to be on heartworm prevention (nott just told it doesn't happen in this area so we don't wanna put her on it). She needed better dental care (she has a lot of dental issues now) she needed people who gave a shit about her in her early life, and Hannah was not the place for that. THIS IS MY BABY SHES NOT JUST MY PET. I would never subject another animal to that place - while there are good people who work for them like Tamara and Bree, they have fallen short overall. To say that they supposedly give great care to your pets and treat them like family is simply not true. My senior dog (12yrs going on 13) presented out of the blue with uncontrollable vomiting and diarrhea. It escalated extremely quickly(less then an hour) to hemorrhagic diarrhea and he was in bad shape. Took him that evening to the 205 location where he was immediately seen. It's not a 24hr hospital so they stabilized him and sent me to Tigard location. He was immediately admitted there and started on fluids etc. he ended up having to stay for nearly a week. They called me 2-3x daily to keep me updated on his condition and inform me of what procedures and medication they were/had administered. He was eventually able to come home with an impressive regime of medication to help treat pancreatitis(7 different medications!) All the medication sent was accompanied by clear cut written instructions that gave exact times, and in what orders the meds were to be dispensed and what each one was for. He's recovered nicely and we are hopeful he'll make it to his 13th birthday. If I hadn't had him on Hannah's there would have been no way I could afford the level of care he would have needed. We recommend Hannah to everyone, especially for those of us who have older rescues with poor or previously lacking proper healthcare. For the comprehensive care at Hannah and peace of mind alone it's worth it. Hannah Pet Society shows you what your pet care would have cost in the Portland market. They do market research every year to ensure their prices are reasonable. For instance Hannah shows that the care for our 15yr old min-pin with ongoing renal insufficiency, being attacked by another dog, yearly dental, large fatty skin lumps removed , behavioral care & anxiety meds has been $22k since we joined in 2017. Our yearly dues are around $1200. Now I will say, if you want a personal relationship with your Vet, if you want to be in the exam room with a Vet , talking to a Vet about your pet, that's not likely going to happen. There are many Vets at each Hannah location and they are kept very busy with emergencies & surgeries ,so the Vet Techs do most of the interaction with members. But I have many times gotten a Vet to review my pets care and call me back that day. Considering how I hear horror stories ( just one last week where my neighbor couldn't find a emergency vet open or one who could take clients ) and the wait times I hear about with walk in appointments here in Portland, I recommend Hannah for peace of mind and excellent care. read more

The 3rd time (I had to take a day off of work by refusing an overtime shift which cost me $337) I was pulling off of Stark into your driveway and Sarah called and stated (I still have the voicemail) "We looked at your pets records and they don't seem to need any dental work but we can go ahead if you'd like but you'd assume the risks related to anesthesia." Your team recommended my diabetic take 3 units twice a day but only if he ate. I kept him on the same regimen prescribed by your team until he started puking brown bile and rushed him to St. Francis (to the tune of nearly $2,000) who QUICKLY diagnosed him with DKA or Diabetic Keto Acidosis and was bordering on renal failure with a glucose level over 2000! The VCA states a sub 200 reading is normal for a cat and may rise to 300 after a meal but a consistent reading of 400 was somehow acceptable to your "doctors?" I kept getting the run around from your team who tried to screw me out of money for doing, well nothing and damn near killing my cat. As far as the "f-bombs" I'm curious as to how and when that information (if true) was obtained? Your phone lines state nothing about a call being recorded or monitored and under ORS that is illegal (big surprise violating the law again). Or if it was merely employee "hearsay?" I did however call one of the doctors a schmuck after a female doctor told me to increase insulin and he was completely clueless about it. Like I said before, go somewhere, ANYWHERE else but here. Get pet insurance through Allstate and go basically anywhere you want, depending on the plan you can actually get money BACK. This is a long overdue review, but just wanted to thank Dr Horner and his great staff for taking care of my Labradoodle, Indy, and for nursing him back to health! I brought Indy in cause he had a sudden limp in both rear legs, and it declined fast. Turns out, Indy had a calcified disc (IVDD), which made both his back legs unusable and caused a LOT of incontinence issues. I was not equipped to nurse Indy throughout this ordeal, so luckily Hannah took him in for 2 solid weeks, doing frequent acupuncture treatments and water rehabilitation therapy. It was a bit scary, as after 2 weeks, his legs were still not working and he had very little sensation still. Still, Hannah persisted patiently with the treatments and the assistants and techs gave him a ton of attention. Fortunately, a little over 2 weeks into it, his legs just started working, and he was able to hobble around again! Fast forward 3 months to present day, he's still been going in for acupuncture once a month, I still take it super easy with his activity level, but pretty much all signs of the IVDD is gone! Anyway, I would've been totally at a loss without Hannah...so glad I had membership! My ONLY thoughts of feedback... They do not do or cover any spine surgery or CT scans. I don't know how common this is or not...but just something to note if you're considering Hannah. They do seem a bit low staff on actual vets. I think with their business model, they might run a bit lean on vets. Before Hannah, I'd get a lot of face time with the actual vets, but with Hannah, 95% of my interactions and conversations are strictly with the nurses. Just another thing to keep in mind if that's important to you. They don't really push any services, dental cleanings, optional vaccines, or yearly health checks onto you. I find I have to be a bit more proactive scheduling these yearly things myself, versus Hannah keeping track of these recommended appointments for me. read more

I have been using Hannah pet hospital for over a year for my cat Vinny and  I am very disappointed in quality of service and very poor customer service. I signed up with Hannah pet hospital because I was concerned about my cat's sudden weight loss and poor appetite. When I brought him to Hannah pets they have done several tests, including blood test but have not found anything abnormal in results. Right after that nurse told me that my cat needs certain vaccination and it took her 5 times to poke my cat before she could  actually complete the procedure , which is very dramatizing for the pet. My last appointment with Hannah pet hospital was for teeth cleaning and when I arrived they told me my appointment was rescheduled and no one even reached out to me to let me know. At that point I was fed up with the service and asked them to cancel my membership on what they response was - it will cost me $300 to cancel, which I paid and left. My cat was getting worse and worse and I took him to Tanasbourne emergency care for diagnosis. When they have done their tests they told me that my cat had kidney disease and it has been going on for a long time because of the stage of the disease. That's just proves that Hannah pet hospital have not done anything to diagnose my cat in earlier stage so I could of started the treatment much earlier. read more

When I would make appointments Hannah would not call or notify me through text or their app that we have an existing appointment coming up so I would miss it and then have to wait longer to have my pet seen. Now that I've decided to cancel my membership Hannah wants to charge me $450 cancellation fee for each pet. I signed up for Hannah to be sure my pet has vet care not to empty my wallet!! Yikes. 10 minutes haven't even "checked in." There is one receptionist and she gave 0 cares for the very upset man two customers ahead of us. I recognize 0 staff members which says turnaround is an issue. The last time we came we got in right away because Saturday they don't do appointments anymore. We shall see as we finally got checked in, after more than 12 minutes waiting. Thankfully we have 1 dog with easy peasy needs. Let's hope we don't wait forever. Well we got here at 3:06, it's 4:33 and we haven't been seen. There are 4 girls at reception now and they're busy chatting. Glad to see they have so much time since mine clearly doesn't matter. Very very seriously rethinking this place. Clearly they're understaffed and don't give a crap about customer service. Hour and a half and still waiting. The reception staff is useless and says "I don't know how much longer it will be." So we left. Total crap. Do not waste your time and money here. They're obviously a total scam. Like Uni said below, they're using the "adoption" program to bring new clients in and when we were there one of the staff said "every room is being used by the adoption manager" so the "clients" of Hannah are left to rot in the waiting room. We don't actually get veterinary services because they bleed you out of money, then you waste your time being "seen" which never happens and then you have to cancel your contract. The end of February I took my dachshund levi in for help with his back legs. They kept him for 7 days without telling me anything is wrong with him besides he had IVDD. That was the first i heard about it and the first time he ever got hurt. A week later my dog died of what his new doctor said was a blood clot. After the autopsy he said he "found cancer", this was the first time i heard this as well. When he first got to the hospital they said all x-rays and bloodwork was "exceptional"... they also didn't call me after his autopsy, i had to go up there myself and collect my dogs collar and hear he had cancer after all the times they have said he was healthy. On top of that when i went to pick up his collar a nurse came in the room literally said "i'm sorry for the miscommunication, your dog levi is alive and getting ready for surgery" i ask to see him because 2 days prior they said he was dead and they bring me another persons dog. They never called the doctor for help when i dropped my dog off like they were supposed to. They let him sit in there for a week and die. He was only 4 years old. A baby. read more

We do not typically go to this location for regular care, but when our dig became ill while in the care of a pet sitter , he was treated here . It was a good experience. I had mixed feelings about Hanna when we first became members in 2015. Their contract is kid of weird, essentially they own the covered pet . As time has gone on, it has been completely worth it. Food delivery is a great deal . Our dog has needed surgery , hospitalizations, and needs regular medicine for the rest of his life. Everything has been 100% covered . We pay nothing but our membership fee. I am leaving 4 stars instead of 5 because grooming and boarding are not available. I can't say enough good things about HPS! My 1 year old kitty Yoshii had all of sudden stopped eating and just wasn't himself at all so I was so afraid that something was seriously wrong with him. And I was told about HPS and gave them a call. They got him in the next day. They found the problem, prescribed him special food and antibiotics. And now he is back to his old self!! But I have to say that if it wasn't for Kendra going the extra mile and took the time to help me with Yoshii he may still be sick! She volunteered to stop by my house and drop off more of that special food along with extra medicines! Thank you HPS and Kendra for making sure that Yoshii got the attention he needed!! read more

I switched over right before I got my second puppy. My first dog was extremely anxious and very fearful of other dogs, due to past trauma. Poppy, a trainer here, helped me SO MUCH with my little puppy, training her to read social cues and be a polite playmate. My old dog and my new puppy now get along and have made tremendous progress in their relati!! It's all thanks to Poppy!! I'd give her 5 stars! The service at the hospital is pretty good, but the small staff makes wait times long and sometimes difficult to schedule appointments. read more

This is a top notch animal hospital!! Sarah Holt was really amazing getting my client set up. We had called 52 vets in the Vancouver area to see my clients cat who had self mutilated her legs due to fleas. Because he was low income no vets would work with what he had. Sarah made the process simple. Its a one time fee and then monthly charges. Everything for your pet is covered to end of life care. THIS IS THE WORST PLACE POSSIBLE HIGHLY RECOMMENDED YOU CHOOSE SOMEWHERE ELSE TO TAKE YOU PET!!! This is the worst place possible that you can bring your pet. Being a broke college student someone recommended this place to me do to it being "cheap" and my original vet being closed. My cat was being lethargic and not eating so I decided to seek medical care and I took my pet into Hannah's once I got in I received a very bad vibe. First of all they didn't even ask me what was wrong with my cat they just made me write it on a piece of paper. They took my cat and said they would call me to inform me what was wrong with him. Waited several hours by the phone and never received a single phone call. I tried calling multiple times and I would just be put on hold and then get disconnected. After calling multiple times I decided to call the other Portland location and they finally transferred me. They told me they were going to keep my pet over the weekend and do surgery on Monday and that they already called me and I didn't answer so they left a voicemail. I was worried sick the entire time waiting literally right next to my phone and I never received a single phone call or a single voicemail. They basically kept telling me straight up over the phone that they did and basically making it seem like I was stupid!!! I immediately took my cat out of their care. I have asked several times for documentation and for some apparent reason their system is always down or they just say "we will send it through email" and it's been a couple of months and I have not received anything. Overall, the nurse that was apparently the caregiver of my cat for the hours that he was there couldn't even explain what was done and why both of his legs were shaved. Not even the doctor would come out to talk. THIS IS THE WORST POSSIBLE CARE EVER GIVEN AND I DONT RECOMMEND ANYONE PLEASE THINK ABOUT BRINGING YOUR PET HERE!! I WOULD RATHER GO SOMEWHERE ELSE AND NOT GET SCAMMED INTO SOME NONSENSE "DEAL" AND PAY FOR A PLACE WHERE THEY ACTUALLY CARE FOR YOUR PET!! read more
