A big, huge screen shouting the venue's name greeted me as I drove up -- a clear indication of easy location. The venue doesn't look like much from the outside, but it sneakily opens up into a HUGE room that can accommodate any type of event. Big, high, wood-paneled ceilings hold pendant style canned lighting, which gives a comforting and very aesthetically-pleasing view when you look up. The carpet is blue-gray with a clean, crisp design and very well maintained. It doesn't look the least bit ratty or tacky! The sound system is also impressive and can flood the place with whatever style of tunes the hosts decides. The host himself was a little hard to hear on stage with his microphone, although I'm not sure if the event's emcee hooked the system up wrong or if it's always this way. The parking is small but easily accessible, and I got my things in and out in a snap! Geez, I sound like a commercial for the Town of Addison...don't I? ;)

They ensured us that the date was available, and told us we would have to view the place before renting it. The day that we come up to view it, that tell us that someone had already booked that date. And that we would have to be flexible with our time. It would have been okay for them to reach out and let us know someone had booked that date. But not that day of us viewing it. Time wasted. Very unrealizable, no customer service. Would not recommend doing business with them.

Ample parking even with potholes to deal with. I think the owners of the rental units are responsible for paving the property. Some serious repaving is desperately needed. I'll be back to visit the other spots because of their uniqueness! The decorations were wonderful! I think they were provided by the persons that booked the unit. They also had servers for food. However, I think that too was booked via the people that rented the venue. The napkins, which were cloth, were dirty and limp. Ugh! Those need to be replaced. Those were quite objectionably dirty! Same with the white table cloths. (Fake)flower arrangements were nice. They matched the decor for this setting. Chairs need serious updating/replacement or a good scrubbing. Bathrooms were clean and the toilets flushed. Lack of toilet paper was limited. As was hot water and soap. I was a guest. Would I rent here? Yes I would, if the price was right. From the very beginning, Luis Luna, the venue manager, was incredibly attentive, professional, and kind. Leading up to the event, he was always available to answer questions, offer guidance, and make sure every detail was covered. The entire planning process felt so much less stressful because of his support. The night of the event, Luis went above and beyond. He was present, attentive, and made sure everything ran smoothly from start to finish. Any time we needed something, he and his staff were right there, ready to help without hesitation. His team was just as amazing--friendly, welcoming, and truly made us and all of our guests feel comfortable and taken care of. You can tell they genuinely care about the experience they provide, and it shows in every detail. This celebration would not have been the same without their kindness, professionalism, and willingness to step in whenever needed. We are beyond grateful and would 1000% recommend Slate Venue at II Creek to anyone looking for a beautiful venue with an incredible team behind it.

Lisa Simpson was a FANTASTIC Coordinator! She left no stone unturned! The place is beautiful and met ALL of our needs, including a picturesque outdoor area for taking pictures. The front desk staff at Avid Hotel Plano North were excellent--polite, professional, and a pleasure…read moreto interact with. Unfortunately, my entire stay was overshadowed by one person: the so-called "manager." From the very beginning, he spoke to me in a way that was dripping with sarcasm and condescension, calling me "buddy" repeatedly as though the goal was to belittle me rather than help me. Filling out a pet form shouldn't have been a big deal, but the way he chose to deliver the request made it unnecessarily hostile. When I tried to handle it reasonably--asking to complete the form after housekeeping finished--he agreed. But then he showed up at my door minutes later, knocking with an irritated tone and speaking to me like I was a problem he had to "deal with," not a paying guest. When I calmly asked to complete the form with another staff member (who, by the way, were all fantastic), he didn't apologize or step back--he escalated. He actually threatened to throw me out and even involve law enforcement over a guest requesting to work with someone else. Think about that for a second: this is a hospitality business, and his response to a guest seeking respect was to threaten police involvement. What's even worse is that this wasn't some isolated outburst. Other employees admitted that this is simply how he talks to guests. That says everything you need to know about how he runs things. If staff already expect the manager to speak down to customers, then this isn't an off day--it's a pattern. The difference between the front desk team and their "manager" was night and day. The staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcome, while the manager seemed determined to make me feel small. A true leader sets the tone for their team; instead, he drags the entire property down. I left not because of the hotel, but because of the one person in charge of it. If this is what passes for management here, then guests deserve to know what they're walking into. Until this individual learns the meaning of professionalism--and perhaps humility--I can't recommend this location to anyone who values respect.

Rooms still have that new building smell. Beds are comfortable. The continental breakfast is typical of hotels of this nature. My corner room was quiet! The best thing ever was the FIREWORKS! I looooove it! Everyone should go there...it's amazing! They have a kind of ..tropical fire/water thing..we didn't use it, but it looks really cool from the pictures I had seen of it. The staff was super with sparklers and whatnot and gave me what I was looking for. A little far, but so worth it!
