The Chicken & Waffles were the standout. The chicken was crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and paired perfectly with the sweet syrup and smoky bacon. A great balance of sweet and savory flavors. The Spinach & Swiss omelette was light, fluffy, and packed with flavor. The spinach and melted Swiss worked well together, and the home fries were nicely seasoned with peppers and onions. The English muffin was a simple but welcome addition. The bird & Brie sandwich was another winner. The brioche bun was soft and buttery, while the brie added a creamy richness that elevated the sandwich. The arugula brought a fresh peppery bite that kept everything balanced. Wow oh wow! I'm quite impressed by how tasty this down- home local diner is. The kids devoured the donut holes and we adults loved the sweet potato biscuits to start (with a tasty cream cheese frosting dip). I had a perfectly vinegared chicken and dumplings (wedneaday lunch special), hub got a great goat cheese omelet off the specials board. Daughter did the best ordering with a fantastic chicken and waffle with juicy perfectly crisp and seasoned thin chicken breast and candied bacon. Her sweet potato fries were great too. Came in on a Monday morning relatively early and it wasn't too busy. The employees greeted us and were helpful seating us immediately letting us pick our seats. If you can GET THE BANANA FOSTER WAFFLE. Not going to lie, it's expensive at about $15 (without any sides) but man it was so phenomenal. The eggs and bacon I got as additional sides were also quite good. They have flights of alcoholic coffee which seemed fun. It has the BEST food, cocktails, and service, and it's unique, so my husband and I will drive across town to treat ourselves at Savor. We love the chicken and waffles, the "Lil Bit of Chicken Fried," the "Hissy Fit," the cheese grits, the amazing food specials, the boozy coffee flights, the Deluxe Bloody Mary, the mimosas, and more. Today, I ordered a boozy coffee flight with flavors of Dubai Chocolate, Butterscotch, and Chocolate Strawberry, and it was awesome! Just go, that is all you need to know! My husband is working in this area (from Ohio) and we stopped by on a Sunday morning for brunch. We will for sure be back! We love trying local farm to table restaurants and this one did not disappoint- it lands in our top 3 of all time across the entire Eastern seaboard and Midwest. There was a wait, as is typical with Sunday at brunch- but only about 15 minutes, which was also what was quoted to us. Service was friendly and quick. Atmosphere was upbeat, lively, beachy local vibes. The food was stellar and the prices were great considering the amount of food you get. We are def coming back to try more. The alcohol flights are very large portions- the mimosa glasses I think would have filled up 2 champagne flutes. I would suggest sharing, neither of us finished our flights. The avocado toast was SO good. Incredibly fresh and real taste. The waffle also was the perfect max of crispy outside and a moist chewy inside with a lovely taste. My husband raved about the grits and he is very picky about grits. Huge portions, local ingredients, made from scratch foods, low prices, friendly service. Can't ask for more! They excel in all categories which is often hard for restaurants to achieve. Prices are reasonable and portions are big! Everything was delicious and the service was great. Domino was our server. She was lovely. Very kind and attentive staff here. Got our weekend off to a good start! Ok, we went back a couple days later for breakfast and we were certainly wowed today. It was early, right after they had opened so it wasn't too busy yet. We saw Domino again. We ordered hot tea, the 2 egg breakfast, and a Good Ol Boy. The food was plentiful and hot. There is a lot of food when you order the Good Ol Boy so, I am just putting that out there. We had a great stop at Savor this morning so we were happy we came back. This is my favorite brunch spot in town. They have HUGE biscuits that are buttery and flakey as well as some excellent fried chicken to go with it. They also have rotating specials so you never know what you might get to try. They have a ton of different mimosa options of that is your thing. Stopped by Savor for brunch and it did not disappoint! It is a quaint restaurant with seating in the inside as well as the outside. When we arrived, we had to wait about 10 minutes for a table. Once seated, we ordered orange juice, a caramel latte, and red velvet donut holes. The donut holes were so good, and the two sauces were super yummy, which I was doubtful when I originally read the menu. Only complaint about my caramel latte was that it was lukewarm/almost cold when it arrived to the table tho it was good. My husband ordered the good ol' boy, which came with just about everything - at least it felt like it. It comes with a ton of food! It said he loved everything on his plate. I ordered the chicken and waffles. Loved the waffle, the syrup and the chicken. The home fries - I could've done without. They were decent but unnecessary. Waiter was really sweet and helpful. Went to check out Savor for breakfast this morning because of their outdoor pet friendly seating and great reviews and we weren't disappointed. The staff were very friendly and accommodating to our pups and to us. The outdoor seating was great. It's under a large tent with music and fans and quite a few tables. Plenty of room for large parties outside and inside, but I would suggest reservations for more than 4. The food is amazing! Hot fresh and delicious. The grits alone are 5 star easy- stone ground with cheese *chefs kiss*! This will definitely be one of our fave places for breakfast any time we're in Wilmington! We chose Savor Southern Kitchen for our annual Valentine's Brunch. This has been an annual tradition for at least 10 years, and we select a new destination every year. There are usually seven of us, including a wheelchair, so we always look for a location that is not only accessible but wheelchair friendly. I found SSK by chance when I searched for brunch spots. While they do not take reservations for brunch, when we called to explain our circumstances, we were offered a call ahead to let them know we were coming. We did so and were very pleased that they had kept a table for us to accommodate our party. We started with two mimosa flights and a couple of Bloody Mary's. These were beautifully presented and generously portioned. Other drinks were ordered and outstanding! We requested 2 orders of the donut holes, which were moist and delicious. Our brunch orders spanned the offerings from the menu and we were all envious of one another's plates when they arrived. Between perfectly cooked steak and eggs, a Captain's Omelet full of goodies, and Til the Cows Come Home with braised beef and sweet potato biscuits, all the food our table experienced was delicious and reasonably priced. The presentations were attractive and neat. However, what surpassed the food was the level of service and welcome we experienced. My wheelchair-bound mother is dependent upon others for feeding and care. When enjoying her bloody mary, she lost part of her favorite garnish. An attentive member of the staff immediately replaced it. Similarly, when a strawberry was dropped mid-share, the same staff member went into the back and brought out a pair of strawberries for her to enjoy. These simple acts of kindness set SSK apart from other brunch locations! We highly recommend Savor Southern Kitchen to anyone! read more
