An empty bench at 8:10am as we entered (crowded later on!)

We were made to feel at home as soon as we walked into this busy, cozy restaurant. As we sat at our first table the server saw me put on my sweater (right under the A/C unit) and quickly whisked us away to a different table. Then we met our friendly, knowledgeable server, Kathy, who made our experience special. We let her know it was our first time here. She went over specials, asking us our likes/dislikes, made sure our coffee was refilled throughout the meal and her recommendations were spot on for the quality and flavor of our meals. Hubby is a corned beef fanatic--had the corned beef hash served in a skillet and said it was well worth it. I'm a bit more adventurous and had the sweet potato bravas (after Kathy's explaination). How does the chef do it? So many flavors all complementing each other--a winner! This will not be the last time we visit this location. Hint: show up early--there was a line as we left.

This place slaps you in the face with souther vibes the minute you walk through the door. Everything was delish but that SAUCE was top notch. They were attentive and made sure we were being helped even during a rush.

What a great place to eat! This short rib hash was phenomenal and rich! I think it needed more salt but the famous hot sauce was worth it! Service was great and we had Grace!

This restaurant was recommended to us from a local! Plus the Restaurant was on Triple D! Everything we ordered was amazing! The friend chicken and biscuit in the dirty south was out of the world! The blueberry pancake tasted like a thin pound cake! So good! Our waitress was helpful in ordering and great personality! The restaurant was super clean.

    BELT with potatoes

The Cast Iron Kitchen had a real cute vibe. There was so seating outside, but too windy today to partake. I ordered the BELT with a side of potatoes. The sandwich was incredibly large, as were the potatoes. I had to cut the sandwich in quarters and use a knife and fork to eat the potatoes. The BELT is just a BLT with an egg and some sauces that were very tasty. The overall portions were meant for a giant. I took half home and sliced the potatoes into a more manageable size and reheated them in my air fryer. The service was excellent.

First off, one of the orders was for scrambled eggs which came out like a folded omelette. The eggs had a weird taste. Not sure if it's the oil they are using, but the egg whites didn't taste good either. The grits were weird and tasted pasty and undercooked. The country ham was dry and very salty. The biscuits were good and quite large enough to eat the next day with butter and jam. Overrated IMO. The service was great and the staff was friendly.

    Dirty South Biscuit*

We went to CIK at 10 am on a Sunday so we were pleasantly surprised that there was no wait & we were given the option of both indoor and outdoor seating. The Maple Cinnamon roll is a MUST get & I enjoyed the robust flavor profiles in the Dirty South Biscuit bowl because every ingredient shined through. There were numerous breakfast cocktail options & my friends who ordered this enjoyed them as well. I took off one star because our waitress would ask us a question & walk away in the middle of our response every time she engaged with our table. She also tried to take our plates away when we were still actively eating off them. We weren't super bothered by it - just seemed strange because there wasn't a line or need to quickly turn tables that day.

Food and service were great! We took our dogs and eat outside. The place seems to stay busy but we didn't have a long wait.

Always get the biscuits. Always. So good, we wish they opened for dinner daily! Take some of their hot sauce to go!

A majority of the staff were welcoming, but when we first arrived, no one acknowledged or greeted us for about five minutes while we waited to be seated. Mind you, there was a line so acknowledging our presence would have been appreciated. There were also quite a few dirty tables that had not been cleared, which seemed to delay seating for everyone. I'm not entirely sure how their first-come, first-served policy works, but when it was our turn as a party of two, we were told the wait would be another 30 minutes. I had pointed at a table that people were sitting at and were boxing food and I asked if this table was available. She said no because that table was a table for four. I've actually been here with my husband and sat at said table of four. The party of four behind us was seated immediately, at that table. I completely understand that larger tables are often reserved for bigger groups, especially during busy hours, but it became frustrating when we ended up waiting over an hour for our food. The table seated after us had already eaten, paid and left before we even received our meals. There were also several careless mistakes throughout the experience. My cup arrived with lipstick stains and smudges on it. They did apologize and replace it immediately, which I appreciated. A dishwasher not washing a lipstick stain is not really in their control, but it is in their control to serve me a dirty glass. When my food arrived, it was completely covered in sesame seeds to the point that it looked excessive and unintentional. My husband actually watched the girl, who was the one in charge I guess of filling sauce and grabbing dishes from the kitchen, dump the sesame seeds onto the plate, and even our waiter, who was not the person handling the dish, agreed that it looked drenched in them. They corrected the issue for us, but for a meal that cost over $100 (including tip, for a table of 2) without alcohol, I expected more attention to detail. They were all really understanding of the issues and corrected them. On top of that, someone who was not our server added two extra drinks to our bill when we were paying. That was $11 on our bill. Again, mistakes happen, especially in busy restaurants, but after multiple issues throughout the meal, it started to feel careless rather than accidental. I do appreciate that staff tried to fix the problems when we brought them up, but I wish there had been more mindfulness and attention to detail overall.

One morning with 2 breakfasts & 2 coffees + tip it was $70. Ouch! Lovely food choices, some great healthy choices & some delicious griddle offerings. Everything was very fresh, great quality & food came pretty quickly. Coffees always great, but if you're getting a latte I highly suggest ordering in a to-go cup and extra-hot. Glass cups small & get cold fast. It's great decor & has a modern-bright-beach-vibe. Super clean as its new, hope it stays that way (happens a lot here locally that restaurants get kinda dirty, we travel a lot & especially in Raleigh the restaurants there are always kept very clean even over years in business).
