    The outside of Casey's restaurant.

Casey's did not disappoint with ots offerings. The ambiance was a step into the past with spreads of coke bottles, Pepsi cans and posters that remind me of school days. I glanced around for the Dick and Jane series of books! Amazing food was served on wooden chairs and inside plastic booths. The service was there to clear away used plates and make room for several trips back to the buffet. It is a road side stop ypu must consider on your travels, especially to Myrtle Beach. Just 45 minutes aways!

    Love them southern greens!!

First time here. I'm in the area for work and I like to try local cuisines and this was recommended. So first the collard greens, black eyed peas, fried cabbage, and the green beans. Was just delicious as hell!! That's what I look forward to when I eat southern food!! The fired chicken was majorly over cooked, but their pulled pork with their bbq sauce was bomb!! The fried catfish was okay and their hamburger steak was decent as well. Overall I say this place was good quick stop if you love them southern greens!! The service was polite and honestly I don't like being overwhelmed with "you okay sir" or "how are you"!! I can see you looking to make sure I'm okay but not shadowing is great. The location was really off the beaten path from where they could be striving but not bad. Inside was good and it gave the vibe of old school southern cooking, but this place could use some updating. Overall great spot and would definitely be back if I'm in the area!! PS the sweet tea was PERFECT!! Really well mixed !! Wasn't over powering on the sweet side!!

Let me start by saying this restaurant is not for everyone. If you LOVE good ol' fashion country cooking...then this is the spot! It's not fancy, but the food is delicious! I haven't had pig feet in YEARS! The chitterlings were okay, but it was mostly hog jowls mixed in. I went up to try dessert and they put out some fresh chicken so I had to try. Those wings were awesome!!! The service was wonderful. The tea was sweet. And the locals love it!!! A must try if you're passing through.

The server was very welcoming and attentive. There was a wide variety of southern fare for a reasonable price. There were a few concerns to note: the food was not replenished in a timely manner, so it appeared that some of the food was dried out especially the desserts. The food stations could be cleaner. There are food spills all around. The floor is stained and soiled looking. The plastic plates are worn and look like dishes for school children. The iced tea was great. The meats (ribs) were tasty. The fried chicken and the catfish were delicious. Even though, I do not prefer catfish. I didn't like the Mac and cheese. That said, the server provided freshly prepared fish and desserts upon request. With some revitalization this place would be great. BTW -- the old crumpled newspaper on the glass in front door of the building looks scary and like a harborage for critters. All said, they serve authentic, down home cooking like pig feet and chitterlings , so you should check for yourself.

Home-cooked meal. buffet style and staff is very friendly they have fried chicken chitterlings, turkey, Brunswick stew I'll do different kinds of vegetables in the best is the dessert. I got the pecan pie in the homemade banana pudding. They they even have crabcakes and fried shrimp. The shrimp is made to order. All you have to do is ask him, and they will bring it to the table for you.

Food from buffet was soo good

Is the BBQ vinegar based/Carolina style?

That's the only sauce on the table. Traditional NC bbq pork.

    Do they still serve oxtails?

They did when I was there in April.

    Sensation farmhouse restaurant?

Don't waste your time! Not good! Save your money! Highly don't recommend..

Great counter service BBQ in the heart of Wilmington. It was our first visit, so the lovely lady at…read morethe counter explained the menu, how to order, her favs, etc. Very helpful if you are not sure what to get. We settled on brisket. My hubs got the brisket sandwich with side of Mac and cheese and side of green beans. I had the chopped brisket the comes with the sauce mixed in with a side of baked beans. Sides do have meat mixed in as well. But the portions were sizable and very good. No option for cornbread or a little pile of pickles with the sandwiches, but if you get a platter, it does come with cornbread. The place is covered with military and firefighter patches, photos, and downtown Manhattan pictures of the former World Trade Center. As a former NY'er, we appreciate the dedication to the first responders and military service people. It is why this restaurant got started. They donate to charities for veterans and first responders. We are grateful. Overall, good experience. When we arrived the restaurant was quiet, but once our food was ready, and we chose our seats, the line reached the door. It was very busy. We also took more time ordering so it was good we were there early before dinner rush on Tuesday. I will definitely return here. Very casual, good food, lots of sauces to try and they have a mission to help the military. 5 stars

The food quality always impresses us, and the prices are some of the most reasonable in town--honestly, next to Costco's hot dog meal, Mission BBQ is the cheapest place to enjoy a lunch meal. As you can see from the attached photos my favorite meal is the 2- Sampler, Pulled Pork and Brisket with sides of Baked Beans and Coleslaw. These are the best baked beans that I have found in Wilmington and the coleslaw ranks high on my list. Depending on the cooking staff on duty that day there may be a slight variation in the coleslaw. My wife's favorite meal is their Pulled Pork Sandwich, and I will give her my cornbread which she thoroughly enjoys. What earns this restaurant 5 stars is their consistency of delivering great food over the years and I feel confident in recommending to Visitors and natives alike.

I was not in love but I think there are some caveats there because I am not the typical customer. First, we appear to have come right at the height of their dinner rush. It took a while to get seated. The hosts told us to sit at the bar and then the bartender kicked us out of our stools because we were waiting for a table and apparently the bar stools were only for people who were eating, so we had to go find a bench. When we did get seated they put us at a really weird high top in a separate room when there was a much nicer low top available in the main room that we switched to. I got the sense both that this place was kind of hectic and that they didn't think they needed our service. But then as we were eating it cleared out all of a sudden and we were the only people left at like...8 pm. Our server was...accetptable. Not rude, but kind of short. Compared to the lovely personable service we got at other places in Wilmington it felt...I dunno, New Yorky? Then there was the food. And here comes my biggest caveat. I am pescstarian and do not eat chicken. So I ordered a shrimp po boy. It was not good. Not bad. But not good. Especially for the price which, honestly, competed with the prices where I live in DC. Every other person around me ordered chicken. My husband ordered chicken. He really liked his chicken. So obviously, this is a place where you get chicken (if the name didn't make it obvious). Had I ordered chicken I likely would have enjoyed my meal a lot more. But if you have shrimp po boys on the menu, endeavor to make them decent or take them off. Also I subbed a side cesar instead of fries and it was an afterthought. The fries themselves were excellent. If I ate chicken and came back to Wilmington I would maybe give this place another shot but as it stands, nah.

It was a little frustrating, but it's also a testament to how popular this place is! We ended up stopping by to place our order in person instead. Between the two of us, we ordered a burger, the Pow Wow Shrimp, Philly Egg Rolls, loaded cheese fries, and fried mushrooms. Honestly, this has become one of our favorite comfort food spots, and every visit reminds us why. The Pow Wow Shrimp is absolutely phenomenal every single time. It has just the right amount of spice--even for someone like me who has a pretty low tolerance for heat. It's flavorful without being overwhelming. The Philly Egg Rolls are easily one of my favorite comfort food dishes anywhere. They're always packed full of delicious filling, never skimpy on the ingredients, and cooked to crispy perfection. The loaded cheese fries are another favorite, topped with plenty of melty cheese, bacon, and green onions. The burger was juicy and flavorful, and while the fried mushrooms probably aren't my favorite in town, they're still a great option if that's your thing. They're large, crispy, and cooked well. That said, if I had to choose, I'd order the Pow Wow Shrimp and Philly Egg Rolls every single time. We also usually grab one of the fresh juices or lemonades from the cooler by the register. I can't remember which flavors we picked this time, but I know they were delicious, just like always. One thing that really stood out was how well everything traveled. Even by the time we got home, every item was still hot, fresh, and tasted like it had just come out of the kitchen. If you're looking for a place with consistently delicious comfort food, generous portions, and dishes that are packed with flavor, On Thyme is definitely worth a visit.
