We were in Wilmington and were looking for a place to eat. We saw a lot of cars so we figured it must be good. It is run down on the outside and even more run down on the inside. The carpet and chairs are torn to pieces. We sat in the back near the buffet and it didn't look very clean. I must say, the pulled pork was delicious. It was some of the best I've had and I've had a lot of southern-styled barbecue. The squash casserole is unusual and tasty. I didn't care for the mac and cheese. It tasted leftover and dry. They have great all you can eat oxtails that are included with the 8.99$. Included is chicken, greans, Mac and cheese, basically any soul food. All you can eat, all good food, 8.99. We decided to stop here on our last day of vacation. I read the reviews and they seemed pretty good. When you walk in you're greeted by the very friendly staff at the door. Our server, was very attentive and helpful. She heard it was our first time here and walked us through the process. The restaurant has a nice homey feel. It felt like I was at a family cookout and not in an unfamiliar restaurant. The food was glorious. Flavored and cooked to perfection. When I was on vacation down in Wilmington, NC this summer numerous locals suggested that we stop into Casey's Buffet and BBQ. The short version was that it was darn good. You definitely need to bring your stretchy pants when you visit this place! The amount of food and selection is pretty ridiculous. Thank goodness I was eating meat back when I visited this place. The BBQ was great, but also there so many sides. Everything was really good. And if I'm honest, that's not really an adjective I normally associate with a buffet, but Casey's is pretty amazing. And call it Southern Hospitality or call it "Frank's just used to rude people", but the staff was so nice. It felt more like being over at a friend's house than being a customer. Every aspect of this meal was enjoyable, except that I should have starved myself before I went so I could have enjoyed it more. The next time we're in Wilmington I'm going to starve myself and wear stretchy pants before bringing the whole family back to Casey's Buffet and BBQ! read more

This place has some good food, I would,not categorize it as great food. They had fish, chicken , bake chicken , pigs feet , roast beef , bbq and fat back . Chitlins and chicken & pastry but it all had the same flavor ( grease ) Although I don't eat anybodies Chitlins or Chicken pastry ( only my wife's Vegetables green beans , green Lima beans, Can rutabagas ( not fresh ) there is a difference.rice and coleslaw , cabbage , potatoes salad turnip greens and hush puppies. The desserts peach cobbler , blue berries cobbler, bread pudding and banana pudding. Food here is awesome. Good atmosphere, southern style food and feel. Great staff as well, very personable. Highly recommend filet catfish, potatoes and gravy, and seafood cakes for your main foods but make sure you save room for dessert. Homemade banana pudding was my personal favorite but there's also very good bread pudding and brownies.. Many things to meet your needs. Best true low country soul food here in town. There simply is not that many "good" BBQ places here in Wilmington NC and sadly the real stuff people all talk about tends to be further inland but give this place a try. It's been an established buffet in town for forever in fact I think it still has fish filets from the 60s. Just joking, but stick with the BBQ and gravy and the biscuits and you can't go wrong. My only other BBQ recommendation is Piggly Wiggly in Leland. They have the best SmokeRise BBQ found in the back in the deli area just look for all the SmokeRise briskets. read more

YES. This place is mouth-watering good. I seriously wish I lived in NC, just so I could go get some delicious food. I go to Wilmington once or twice a year to visit family, and my trips are never complete without going to Casey's. I'm from Utah, so I'm used to the Western/ Texas style of BBQ. But holy cow, this Carolina style BBQ blew my mind. I've tried to replicate it at home many times, but it never seems to come close to Casey's. I love that most of the BBQ sauce seems to be vinegar based (this is new to me) it gives it such a unique, yummy taste. The employees are always friendly as can be. I almost thought that southern hospitality was a myth, until I came here. The atmosphere is very homey and comfortable, and everyone is very helpful and kind. I was so disappointed with Casey's. The reviews were awesome online. I'm baffled at these people that actual say this place is great. Their standards must be low. The place was extremely dirty and the food was low quality. We had 7 people in our party and not one of us enjoyed it. I tried everything on the buffet and nothing stood out. I hate golden coral and would rather eat there any day then go back to Casey's. I was excited for some good southern cooking and this didn't even come close. Casey's Buffet was an unexpected treat. We stopped in on a whim after a trip to Jungle Rapids across the street and it did not disappoint. The fried chicken, pork barbecue and catfish were delicious and you can't beat the price $13 for adults and $6 for kids all you can eat. Our waitress was super sweet and offered to put in an order for freshly fried shrimp at no extra charge which the kids devoured. The place doesn't look like much from the outside but the service and down home cooking can't be beat. So glad we stopped in. read more
