The place was deserted - there was one couple here but they were waiting for their pizza. The dining room (see the pictures) has a TV on the east end. The tables and chairs were comfortable. They seem to get a lot of carry out business. We ordered an Aldo's Special Pizza, with spinach substituted for bacon. The pizza came out nice and piping hot after around 20 minutes. The toppings were fresh and tasty. The crust was a little dry, but it was okay. There was oregano present on the pizza. I swear all the pizza places in Rochelle that aren't chains except for this one think oregano is unavailable or something, but along with a little fennel, it really makes pizza better. Our drink glasses stayed filled - we stuck with soft drinks tonight, and water.

No problem. 20 minutes pass and still waiting. I go up to front counter and ask what's taking so long. Supposedly a party group came in and ordered a bunch of pizzas after my order. ( they take precedence I guess). 45 minutes later I get the order. Talked to Aldo and straightened things out with a 7 dollars off my order. That wasn't offered (was my suggestion for having to wait so long) with no apologies for the long wait. No communication was given by front staff that the order would take so long. I was upset at this point. Aldo must of been at the bar having a few by his demeanor. I get the pizzas home and open them. One pizza was thinner than a graham cracker. The pizza wasn't fully cooked so the hot melted cheese made the cracker crust soggy. Grossest pizza I ever had. I called up to talk to Aldo after a 10 minute wait on the phone. Front end needs proper training in customer service, attitude, and communication with its customers. Aldo said what can I do to make it right. I asked him what would you do if this happened to you? He said you don't want to go there. I suggested the pizza should be free at this point for such a horrible service. He ended up laughing and hung the phone up on me. I've been a customer of this establishment for over 25 years and this is how you treat a loyal customer? Beyond bad. Aldo, it's time to hang your boots up and give full ownership to your son and retire. 0- stars You lost a loyal customer.

We decided to drop in since it had just opened, and we wanted to see what they had to offer. If you look at the name "pizzeria napoletana" you may get the idea that this isn't Pizza Hut. It isn't. This is (according to my wife who has been to Naples in Italy) pizza the Napoletanese way. Thin crusts, interesting toppings, and different than mainstream American pizza. When we arrived we were promptly greeted at the door as we walked in, and given a choice of bar or dining room seating. We selected the dining room. Both areas were warm and comfortable, with the usual things in the bar (big screen TV) and dining room (art on the walls, nice tables and chairs, nice booths). We started with the Bagna Cauda, which was delicious. It seemed to be a little light on the garlic compared to my friend's version of the dish, but it was still good. It was served with bread, fennel, pepper and zucchini for dipping. It could have fed 4. For pizzas, my wife ordered their Margherita Verace, and I ordered their Puttanesca pizza. The Puttanesca had green olives, brown olives and white anchovies. The crust was very thin - so thin that I ended up cutting this with my knife and using my fork. I couldn't even fold it - the crust is very soft. I tried my wife's Margherita Verace, and it was similar in crust. It had lots of good stuff on it, and tasted good. Drinks were reasonably sized. I had a glass of wine which was fresh, and my wife after trying to order (and pronounce) Raganrok found that they were out of the sweet mead, so she went with a Negroni instead, which she said was quite good. The bathrooms were clean, but chilly in temperature. I hit the hot air hand dryer as I walked out in an effort to warm up the space. Clean, all fixtures worked, and well kept. The question boils down to this: Are you willing to experience pizza the way it was originally made - or not. If you are willing, you should try this place out. If you aren't willing - well, that's on YOU to change. You're missing a lot.

I don't believe my order was complex but, I like my pizza the way I like it. I'm particular about it... I like extra sauce, easy cheese & well done. We ordered a 12" pick 5 While it had the toppings requested, I ALWAYS ask for extra sauce & it barely had any at all. Like literally NONE. Almost as if I said easy or no sauce- which my receipt shows I did not. It was extremely dry & flavorless as I also always request slightly well done. One piece for us both (in fact it was 2 bites for me) removed the toppings to see a couple specs of red & in the trash it went. Not sure what's going on in the unit at the end of the strip, but it was a madhouse & made parking a bit of a challenge... I probably would've opted for delivery had I known that. However!!! I WILL say the checkout/pick up process once made it in, was smooth, fast & the staff was friendly. You'll see by my reviews, I'm NOT a repeat constant bad reviewer. I personally always check out reviews before trying somewhere & when I see negative ones... I'll click on that person & when I see NOTHING but bad reviews- I take those reviews with a grain of salt because the person obviously is never happy & has nothing good to say about anything... I give praise when it's deserved but I also have to give a thumbs down also once in a while when it's deserved as well. Better luck next time I hope....‍

If you want to dine in, go to their Elburn location. I was looking for a pizza with everything - I got their healthy choice, and substituted sausage for the spinach, and then added pepperoni. Good choice! I was driving the pizza 30 minutes home, so I know it came right out of the oven steaming hot, and was reasonably hot after driving in my car for 30 minutes or so to get home. To be honest, the pizza was actually very good. The crust was good, there were plenty of toppings, and it had good sauce and lots of cheese. For price, you get what you pay for. This isn't one of those chain restaurants - it has people who hand make pies and do a good job of it. I was out the door for $31.50 for a large pizza. Is this place for you? Well, do you like good pizza? If you do, pay your money and enjoy some. Also, if you see someone go into the back door, you might see their Christopher Walken Cooler - complete with his picture on the door. The $3.50 brownies are also very good - pre-packaged, but ooooohhhh. Good!
