Just like out of a scene from Billy Joel's "Scenes from an Italian Restaurant" I felt transported. The staff and owner are awesome!. The bread was fresh and the rosemary garlic olive oil with the parm set the mood. The eldest son had spaghetti and three meatballs (HUGE meatballs!), our other son had spinach, pepperoni and garlic pizza, our other son had bread because he just wanted to come and celebrate. I had the killer Bari Pannini and my wife had the Caprese Pannini. I got the parm fries and my eldest had the lemonchello cake. Everything was truly awesome! The atmosphere, ambiance, food, service and prices were all perfect. We'll be back again. We promise. I feel like we are part of the family now. Visit this place! You won't be sorry. Don't listen to the negative Nellys out here who aren't happy with their own selves. It was pretty epic in our eyes and we moved here from Chicago. We know food. We know Italian. This is good eats and good times.

The host seated us and brought three glasses of water for the table. What was really crappy was the table service. A fourteen top table was getting all the attention and we were solidly ignored for more than ten minutes. Not a drink order, not even an acknowledgment that they'll be with us. Nothing. When a server finally showed up we ordered everything. Drinks, salad and entrees. That's when I started a stopwatch on the phone. It took over twenty five minutes for our dinners to arrive. The food was fine. Sorry Cafe Roma. You lost us as customers. I'll never be back.

She assisted not only with food selectio, but quantity. She made the preplanning so easy. On the day of the event the team are well prepared and set up is exactly as discussed. They are so attentive ! For the last event the items were served and they moves gracefully and silently around the table to avoid disrupting conversations. They are professional and blend into the background . At the end of the event they package leftovers , put them in the kitchen area and clean up. They do all of this effortlessly. The food is outstanding, I have had many different selections and have not been disappointed. I have used them for not only catered event, but also for work lunches . Their portions are very generous. They excel at customer service and never disapppoint.

I had their cabernet sauvignon and it was delicious. The bread was excellent. The crust almost reminded me of a salted pretzel. The chicken meatballs were flavorful. Calamari was ok. For the 2 pastas that I got to try, the spicy rigatoni was good. Chicken vesuvio was tasty and moist. For the grand finale we had cheesecake and tiramisu. Service was excellent. Park in the orange garage as that is the closest to the restaurant. I left around 8 pm and the restaurant was busy. I definitely recommend reservations.

The space is beautiful, though the tables are... let's just say neighborly. Great if you enjoy bonding with strangers, less great if you like a little elbow room. The menu is interesting and inviting. We started with the parmesan artichokes. Crunchy and satisfying, with nice pieces throughout, but a bit shy on flavor. It felt like it almost got to the party but stopped just outside the door. For mains, everyone genuinely enjoyed their dishes. I had the gnocchi della casa with porcini ragù. The gnocchi were soft, light, and pillowy, though just a touch dense and missing that subtle potato flavor that makes you close your eyes for a second. Not quite at the level of my mom's or grandma's (but let's be honest, nothing ever is). The mushroom sauce was tasty, though it leaned slightly vinegary. The pistachio-crusted whitefish was a standout. Perfectly crisp on the outside, flaky and tender on the inside. Definitely a win. The risotto of the day was creamy and comforting, but it felt like it was missing that little spark, that "something" that takes it from good to memorable. Drinks were a highlight. The Sicilian Negroni and Fields of Tuscany were both well-crafted and delicious. No notes there. For the price, it's a solid spot and worth experiencing at least once. Come for the energy, stay for the drinks, and maybe bring your best "I don't mind sitting close" attitude.

I had the blackened chicken sandwich paired with parmesan and garlic potato wedges, both bursting with flavor and absolutely delicious. My wife chose the fish tacos, which were also flavorful, though the tilapia had a slightly fishy taste that wasn't to our liking. We ended our meal with the panna cotta dessert, which looked fancy and tasted delightful. Kudos to the friendly and helpful staff, especially CJ, our server, who gave excellent recommendations and provided personable, attentive service. The atmosphere of the restaurant is pretty open bright and nice. After some chat and hearing that the fish fry is popular, I thought ok, I'll give it a try. I haven't had a fish fry in years. I had the three piece cod, battered and fried, with side choice of fries. It also came with a roll and coleslaw. You can also get Walleye, or all-you-can-eat for a few more bucks. Coleslaw is not my favorite thing but I thought I'd try it. It was kind of tart and vinegary. Still not a fan so I left that alone. The fish was the star of the show of course and was pretty great, I have to say. Cooked so the fish was tender and flaky inside a crispy crust. The fries were fries, and I took most of those and the role home. The pretzel roll would be for a little sandwich later. All in all for the price a surprisingly decent meal. I have been kinda disappointed in restaurants lately but this was just as you'd wish; tasty, a decent price and the servers were great.

Paisano's on Broadway occupies a unique--and important--place in Richmond's dining landscape…read more Credit where it's due: Phil and Karen Gilardi were instrumental in elevating the town beyond pure fast-food dependence. They recognized early that Richmond sits on a corridor of movement--Chicago flowing north toward Lake Geneva, that Midwestern analogue to the Riviera--and made a legitimate attempt to create a stop where people could sit down, slow down, and share a meal. I still remember my first visit, back when Paisano's had maybe five tables. I was seated next to none other than Dan Rostenkowski, then Speaker of the House. That moment captured something about the place: it aspired to be part of a broader, more connected world than Richmond typically experiences. The concept has always been clear--family-style, approachable Italian, positioned as a step above casual dining. And to their credit, they've maintained consistency over the years. That said, the food itself lands squarely in the "acceptable" category. Not offensive, not memorable--reliably mediocre. It satisfies the requirement of a meal without ever quite justifying a detour. Yet here's the reality: within a five-mile radius, Paisano's remains the only place where you can reasonably take someone on a sit-down date without apology. That alone gives it staying power. Paisano's isn't trying to be extraordinary--and it doesn't quite get there. But it filled a vacuum when it arrived, and in many ways, it still does.
