I wanted a sparkly, quality diamond on a reasonable budget. We found the style I wanted. A large stone, semi-antique look, surrounded by little diamonds and diamonds on the band. But the prices offered at the chains had too much of a markup- (we consulted Blue Nile for an acceptable range). Then we found the Diamond Vault. The folks at the Diamond Vault were so helpful. We had three visits before making the final call Each one was relatively low pressure. First we found the right setting. They have fairly good range of settings, but don't have the selection of some of the large chains.What they did have was a unique take on the common setting types. Next we started talking the 4 Cs, they were very knowledgeable. We landed on what we wanted and they sent off for a couple diamonds for our next visit. I noticed some gorgeous necklaces while I was in there for the ring, but I kept my eye on the prize We spent an hour our next visit chatting about the diamonds, looking through the magnifying lens at occlusions, and comparing the colors. I got my every question answered. We were quoted a price and once we did some comparisons were were astonished how great the deal was. The ring took a month or so to be set. They even offered a suggestion to help up save an addition couple hundred. My ring is gorgeous and is well complimented to friends and strangers alike! Whenever we have had to go back for a cleaning, or for insurance docs, they have been happy to see us and more than helpful. The only reason it's not 5 stars is because a little side stone popped out a couple weeks after getting the stone, but they were apologetic and happy to fix it. I would recommend this place wholeheartedly!!

The ring was valued by a local jeweler for $80 (after market appraisal). This is what they said they would buy it from me for. So, I thought since Cash for Gold says they pay 3X the appraised value, I should get a good deal. FALSE. They offered me less than $30 for it. When I called to speak with them, no one was available so the receptionist took my name and number and said they would call me within an hour. Two days later, and no calls, I called them back. They told me to send the check and they will ship my stuff back. I wrote them and got a response that I should send back the check, along with $20 to insure my ring on its way back to me as they will not pay for that. Bottom line. False advertising and terrible customer service. I have a few other things I can sell but won't be using them at all. Buyer be WARE. This is a Scam.

This is one of those businesses where you mail in your old gold or silver and they tell you how…read moremuch they will give you for it. It's actually a metals refinery in Massachussetts. I had some ugly old silver tableware that my grandmother had from somewhere or other. It wasn't family stuff, just one of the many random things she had accumulated from someplace... it wound up with my mom and she gave it to me. I had no use for it, so got the shipping label from this company and sent it in. When they receive it they weigh and give you a quote. I had about a pound of silver. If I had a furnace and a crucible I could have melted it down myself into a 1lb ingot, but buying the equipment would cost more than the metal was worth and when will I have more to melt down? Anyway the quote I got was fair so I accepted. I got a check in the mail a few days later. So now I have some extra money and the ugly and mismatched old silver will be melted down to become raw material for something new and useful. Sounds good to me.

After more than a week, I called and was told they'd sent an offer, but they sent it "again". They pointed out that dinner knives are not solid silver, which I knew. But even by their estimate, there was more than 7 lbs. of sterling silver. They offered me $775.00!! I strenuously objected and they sent me a "corrected" offer of $2,200, which was still far less than what they claim as a percentage of payout. Their online "calculator" valued the silver at more than $3,000. So I rejected their offer and waited for my silver to be returned. And waited. Finally, I contacted them AGAIN and, even though I had an email acknowledgement that I declined their offer, they had not sent it. I attempted to contact them several times by phone but calls were not returned. They finally said the silver was being returned. I got it today. Upon examination, it was clear that they had scraped several all-silver knives, I assume to ascertain the metal. THEY RETURNED DAMAGED SILVER TO ME.

After talking with a friend about the unpleasant experience I had trying to sell it, she recommended I come here because she was pleased with the experience she had when she sold some of her old jewelry. Glad I listened to her. I met with the owner who was very pleasant and clearly very knowledgable. Not once did I feel like he was trying to swindle me or take advantage of the fact that I had no idea what my stuff was worth. The best part is that he paid me $100 more than what I was offered at the other places I had visited! I brought in my antique engagement ring that was incorrectly resized by a previous jeweler…read moreresulting in an oval shank. I had concerns about the ring spinning despite resizing. Gary inspected the ring in great detail and made a recommendation to remove some of the shank and rebuild it, as well as to place tension springs to prevent spinning and slipping. He took his time to measure my finger for the optimal fit. I was told by another jeweler that all of my prongs needed replacement and I wanted a second opinion. Gary again took his time to inspect all the prongs and reassured me that they didn't need replacement. I was very glad for his honesty. The next business day, Gary fixed the ring in 3-4 hours and it came out beautifully. I was so nervous previously to entrust someone with my ring, but I felt at ease. Gary offered that I stay and watch the entire process. He told me to inspect my gemstone carefully after his job was complete as general good practice after having my jewelry worked on! I am so happy with the end result and strongly recommend this jeweler. The key factors that impressed me most were honesty, trustworthiness, attention to detail, patience, mastery of his craft, and sharing of knowledge/providing an understandable rationale for his decision-making.
