I recently ordered the Bourbon Peach Latte with oat milk ($6.50 + $0.75 for oat milk), Blueberry Pie Latte ($6.50), and a Breakfast Sammy with ham ($8). The Bourbon Peach Latte is a seasonal summer drink. It features caramelized sugar, simmered bourbon and heavy cream, real peaches, vanilla bean paste, and a touch of salt. You also get a cute peach gummy ring on the side. The Blueberry Pie Latte is another seasonal summer drink. It includes espresso, blueberry pie syrup, and milk, topped with cream cheese cold foam and a cinnamon graham cracker crumble. Honestly one of the best variations of a blueberry drink I've had at a coffee shop. My favorite blueberry-anything at any coffee shop actually. As for their Breakfast Sammy, it had garlic aioli, egg, ham, avocado, cheddar cheese, and Everything Bagel seasoning. You can definitely taste the garlic in this sandwich. So we chose to go here on the way to accomplish some errands and well, it was disappointing. The Schtick is supposedly Turkish Style Coffee with Yemeni beans? Are they actually getting coffee beans out of Yemen right now? The menu didn't really feature Turkish Style Coffee as the forward offering. The employees were not rude or anything, but they, they were slow at making coffee. They also didn't know how to make coffee either. Pulling and espresso shot is easy, pouring a latte is not. and Moka & Co brewed a Cortado that was clearly just an espresso shot with some steamed milk glopped on top...which I've had that happen before at places that only have paper cups. BUT if you care about brewing coffee, you will pour a microfoam head in paper just as you would in ceramic. What's worse is that the coffee just tasted like dirt, if this is Yemeni coffee, it's bad. Seemed like there was potential here, but it was a waste of a morning when there are so many great coffee places in the core, we just need more of them in the East Valley. Unfortunately Moka & Co is just marketing and not a quality coffee shop.

The toy rotation keeps my kids occupied when we are there and excited to swing in for an amazing coffee (IN A REAL MUG) and my favorite (the one and only) breakfast pizza. Villa Meola has become the safe haven of my mom friends and mine. A refuge of sorts where our kids can be kids and we can breath easy as we are reminded they have not just a right to be in the public, but are wanted there. The toys are so creatively organized with wall hangings and baskets. Recently, we have been invited to a birthday celebration and even had a small one of our own and Villa Meola hung a simple banner that really made us feel so welcome. They are getting so inventive with both the food and drink while sticking to their strict clean and simple/ minimal ingredient food standards with their authentic Italian tastes. Midnight Taco has moved in which creates a very unique and fun curation of cultures and families but it's fun! Still just so grateful for a not so hidden gem to enjoy.
