They didn't taste very fresh and the flavor was mild. Iced Biscoff Latte with Oatmilk (+$1 upcharge) Not a fan. It was pretty mid, especially with the $9 price tag for a 16 oz drink. Iced Pistachio Matcha Latte with Oatmilk (+$1 upcharge) A little gritty and again not worth $9. It was very clean and inviting. Service was a bit slow. A couple came in after me, ordered two drinks and received theirs before I did. Moka & Co is a unique Yemeni coffee shop that I recommend checking out atleast once. The inside of the shop is extremely comfortable, I went on a weekend and it wasn't too loud. The cashier was super helpful with pi king out a drink and was extremely friendly. I ordered one of their signature lattes which is a Moka Spice Latte (with oatmilk). It was delicious and I have never tasted anything like it before. The spices in the drink were extremely unique and phenomenally went well with the coffee. When we first came here, the drinks were very flavorful and the service was excellent After returning here multiple times, the flavors of their lattes are hit or miss and mainly miss. When we returned since this place opens late - we ordered Moka Spice Lattes and received a drink that was nearly white. Upon tasting it - it confirmed that the drink was primarily milk, no sweetener and barely any coffee flavor. The same with the Adeni Chai - it ended up tasting like milk and water. A friend and I stopped in on a Thursday for a coffee and to catch up and I'm so glad we did. I went with the Spanish Latte and my friend had the Moka Spice Latte, both iced. Both drinks had really good balance between flavor and coffee, weren't overly sweet and were served in the cutest glasses. They had a good selection of teas and other coffees as well as pastries. Stopped by at 9pm last night because we saw that there hours on Yelp said that they closed at 11pm..... WRONG. We were greeted as we stood there looking at the menu. There was a group of two that walked out as we walked in and there was another party of two sitting down. We ordered one refreshing mango drink, one biscoff latte, one chai tea, one biscoff cake, and one banana pudding. The workers were friendly and they brought us our orders to the table. We sat down ready to eat when we were then told that they were actually closed. We didn't question them so we grabbed our stuff and left. The inside was clean and its very spacious. The cake was good but just a tad bit too dry. The banana pudding was pretty good as it was creamy and cold. I'm a sucker for cohesive design and furniture that makes sense and looks put together, and they really outshined with that! I really enjoyed my experience here! I tried a biscoff latte, salted caramel latte, the zaatar, the spinach and feta pastry, honey comb bites, and a blueberry muffin. I truly liked each item. I did have a slight preference for the salted caramel latte over the biscoff because it was a little more flavorful. The space was very clean, aesthetic, and there was plenty of parking. I went with a drink from their traditional coffee menu, the Mufawar coffee. It's a traditional Yemeni coffee brewed with cardamom and cream. It has a touch of sweetness and strong flavor. First time here. We ordered a lavender matcha and biscoff coffee. The matcha has a very distinct and unique taste, and the lavender is very subtle. My second Yemeni coffee shop I tried this week! Came here around 7:45 am and it was not busy at all, plenty of 30 min or less parking around so good if you're just picking up quickly. It is incredibly clean and spacious in here. I know this is a nationwide chain in I think 19 states? But relatively new to AZ! The lattes sounded amazing but I didn't want something super milky on a gross hot day so I went for a cold brew with a little oat milk and saffron. They asked if the amount of milk was ok and it was almost half the cup so they poured some out, I thought it was nice and good customer service that they asked! My drink did still seem maybe a bit too milky or watery? It was not bad at all, I drank the whole thing but wasn't like the best drink ever. I would just change up my order if I visit again! I don't typically start off this way. This place has potential and I hope it does a few tweaks. First the inside decor is really nice and when you first come in you see the amazing sweet and savory display which looks amazing. The menu on the tv is great and easy to see. But like a lot of places that have unique drinks they miss explaining the drinks on the menu. When the baristas are busy this can make it bit overwhelming for everyone to ask and hear and explanation. Simple tweak here is just adding the description. Once you order is where my big tweak comes to. It's the price. I get it coffee places are trying to hit 6-9$ mark it seems. However there isn't any option under $5 listed on the menu. Now the killer dagger to me... a 1$ charge for 2% milk. So an already pricey $8 drink is now $9. I also ordered a chocolate croissant so my total of $18 got me a coffee and croissant. I do think they have an opportunity to adjust their menu and expand options while delivering some uniqueness. Lastly, the staff is not as engaging. After ordering and waiting 20 mins(it was not that busy to take that long) my order was in Togo box and Togo coffee cup. I was never asked for here or to go and it was given with a lid on. Sorry for 9$ I want to see it first lol. And then took another 30 minutes to drink the hot coffee because it was so hot. Overall, they need to do quite a few tweaks to me in order for me to ever come back. I just really am taking it back about the whole dollar for 2% milk charge along with two items costing almost $20. There are other cafés just like this in Tempe in Phoenix that produce better quality for a reasonable price. I was very excited to try this place after seeing it on social media. However, the pricing and overall experience were a major disappointment. The latte cost $8, with an additional $1 to substitute oat milk. On top of that, it took 25 minutes to prepare...even though there was no one behind me and only three guests ahead of me. There were about 4-5 employees working, so the long wait time was surprising. To make matters worse, the bathroom was out of paper towels and the water station was empty, which made the overall experience even more frustrating. The outdoor tables were also covered in dust, as if they hadn't been wiped down in quite some time.
