Pacific Kitchen & Home - JennAir Convection Double Oven with Touchscreen Controls

    Pacific Kitchen & Home

I would like to voice my extreme disappointment in the astonishingly misleading and overall bad…read morelevel of service I have received in connection with a Pacific Kitchen & Home / Best Buy appliance purchase. Particularly, I want to highlight the deceptive tactics by which the so called "Premier Protection Plan" is sold. In late June, I purchased a dishwasher ($900), refrigerator ($2800), and freezer ($800) from Pacific Kitchen & Home at Best Buy. The dishwasher came highly recommended in respect to reliability by the Pacific sales rep. Furthermore, the sales rep very aggressively pushed the so called "Premier Protection Plan", which is essentially an expensive extended warranty plan. The plan was sold as a "no hassle" service that would kick in the "unlikely event" that one of my high-end appliances should break. Less than 6 months later, this claim was put to the test when my "highly reliable" dishwasher completely broke. We called Pacific sales and after a long long wait time we were told that there would be no service available for 10 days! When indicated that this was unacceptable, a representative who identified herself as "Nicole" put me on hold for over 30 minutes and then dumped the call. I called back and spoke with a representative named "JR" who seemed completely unconcerned by my hold/hangup treatment. JR also asserted that my "premier protection plan" does not "really" protect me for the first 2 years! And that I would need to contact the manufacturer. At least "Nicole" did not deny that I was protected, but now the story was changing. When I asked to speak with the manager to resolve the conflicting positions being asserted by the representatives, I was put on hold for over 25 minutes. "JR" came back to tell me the "Adam", the manager, was "in a meeting". Having lost a large part of my workday to this hassle, I agreed to a call-back "very soon". No call ever came from "Adam". I then called three additional times trying to get in touch with a manager, any manager, each time they were "in a meeting", "with a client", or otherwise "indisposed" (whatever that means). Each time a call back was promised and each time no call ever materialized. In conclusion, there are two major problems here: (1) The Pacific/Best Buy sales rep misrepresented the terms of the so called "Premier Protection Plan". (2) Pacific sales/warranty service is absolutely awful. It is difficult to believe that Best Buy, which is an otherwise decent company with which I have successfully conducted business for many years, tolerates this toxic and very short sited approach to customer service. I feel very much deceived here and taken advantage of by the misleading tactics of Pacific Kitchen & Home / Best Buy.

Today, I called Premier about my refrigerator for the second time and was on hold for just shy of 2 hours before speaking with a human being. The "music" playing while I was on hold was nothing less than torture. This was a miserable experience and terrible way to waste 2+ hours. To add insult to injury, I was told the supervisor was busy, could not talk to me and that the operator couldn't give me his name. Bottom line the Samsung refrigerator is lousy and so is the Premier Protection Plan.

The food is always incredible, but what truly sets this place apart is the people. Kylie, Nathan, Maddie, and so many others on the team consistently go above and beyond to make us feel welcomed, cared for, and genuinely valued. Their kindness never feels forced -- it's just who they are. One moment that really stayed with me was when I brought my young niece, who has several allergies and can also be a bit picky with food. The chef personally came out to our table to ask thoughtful questions, understand her allergies better, and make sure she felt safe and comfortable eating there. That level of care meant so much to our family. Now that I'm pregnant, the staff continues to be just as attentive, accommodating, and thoughtful. They always make sure I'm comfortable and taken care of, and it honestly feels like visiting friends every time we walk through the door. Restaurants with great food are everywhere. Restaurants with genuinely wonderful people are rare. Jack Allen's is one of those rare places, and we're incredibly grateful for the amazing team there.

We started off with the queso and guacamole. They queso was delicious and while the guacamole was fresh it needed some salt. For my meal I got the special which was the bacon wrapped meatloaf. My husband got the fried pork chop and said it was cooked perfectly and that the gravy was delicious. Overall, an enjoyable meal and we would return.

The food was surprisingly served fast despite the restaurant focusing mainly on their wedding party guests from their patio. For dinner, I shared bruschetta. Ordered bruschetta for my dinner. My third Bruschetta was House Smoked Salmon and Herbed Cream Cheese Bruschetta. Thankfully, they DON'T skimp out on their ingredients on top of their bruschetta!! Besides the bruschetta, my friend Tina offered me a slice of her Mediterranean Pizza. Thanks so much for the top notch quality food and service!!! My friends had bruschetta, tuna salad, and grilled cheese with soup. We were able to walk in and easily get a table for 4 as it wasn't too busy. However, it started to fill up and it seemed like our server had many other tables because we wouldn't see her for a while and had to wait a bit for some follow up items. Overall a consistent, good time, and they can do separate checks which is great for a party of friends ordering different things!

****The forthcoming review is for the interaction with management at this Lowe's location***…read more I came into this location several weeks ago for the sole purposes of securing materials for Thing One's Eagle Scout project. When we arrived at the location, we requested to speak with a manager. After a brief conversation with one manager, we were directed to two other managers' specifically the pro sales manager, Craig Cottier, and Brian Scott, the assistant manager of specialty sales. Both of these managers went over the Eagle Scout proposal in depth with Thing One so they could fully understand what he was trying to accomplish. After a lengthy discussion, we were advised by the managers that the store had already reached their donation cap for the year, but they would try to work with Thing One to get discounted materials for the project. While I could pay for the materials myself, for those who are not aware, there is a fundraising component of an Eagle Scout project with specific rules and regulations. Eagle candidates may ask for donations of materials or discounts on materials from companies or individuals. The candidate must furnish a list of prospective donors with their fundraising application, per national policy, for council approval before soliciting the material donations or discounts. Candidates may also hold fundraising events, such as car washes, meat stick sales, and the like, with an approved application. Many scouts do fundraising or ask for donations as it allows them to show their leadership, communication, and project management skills they've learned while in the BSA. Thing One was able to get 28 pieces of 2x8 Pressure Treated Pine for less than $35 (that's a savings of over $350). The Pine was of excellent quality. Because of the generosity of Lowes and Craig and Brian, Thing One was able to complete his Eagle Scout project successfully while living up to the Boy Scout Law of being thrifty.

TLDR: Pro: authentic Japanese restaurant with food prepped to order…read more Con: lunch menu is minimum two item order which wasn't clear, and they prepare the food with way too much salt The restaurant is authentic which was a huge win for me. The lunch menu wasn't very straightforward so when I got my bill in the end I was a little surprised to see it came to $18, instead of $10. I guess I could have asked when I ordered, but the menu clearly lists mackerel is $8.50, so I didn't quite get that the lady/owner/mgr meant you have to order two entree items for the lunch menu, so its not like a typical lunch special at a set price for the listed price. It felt a little deceiving so it wasnt a great feeling, i guess i should have picked up on it when she said two items. But I wish it could have clearly stated that on the menu when i was reviewing it, i would have just opted for one entree on the menu instead had i realized that sooner. The fish was fine but $20/worth idk. I will say the meal was actually cooked to order. The downside for me in terms of the meal was the salt bomb all over my meal, starting with the salad which was a very small amount of greens to the amount of salad dressing they topped it with. The miso soup was made with miso but very strongly seasoned making me want to water it down. The edamame were good but once again so much added salt on it. The mackerel was good, but yet again the excessive amount of salt made it very difficult to enjoy the meal from start to finish. The vibe is a small dining area with minimal frill, and a small counter with seating where the sushi chef is to make rolls/sashimi. The lady is very attentive and the food is made with care, I just wish they would hold back on the salt. I left feeling very parched due to the amount of sodium I ingested from the preparation. Overall this restaurant is a great Japanese restaurant, I wouldn't mind going back. If - minus the miso soup, I wonder if I could request no added salt to my food in the cook process. Aside from how they may have prepped the fish before cooking, if for example it gets pre-seasoned in salt that's one thing, but no additional salt when cooking. I recommend you give it a shot, its a rare find to see a Japanese restaurant ran my a Japanese family, which was a nice surprise.
