A4L: A Budget-Friendly Option for Quality Appliances and Service…read moreI recently visited Appliances 4 Less Austin after purchasing an older home. I spent most of my money fixing up the house so my budget for appliances is limited. I'm so happy that I found what I needed within my budget at A4L. I highly recommend this store for anyone shopping on a budget and don't want to suffer quality. What I Loved: 1. Affordable Prices: The biggest draw is, of course, the discounts. Many items were priced significantly lower than big-box retailers, even with the crazy Black Friday sales going on. The reason for the low price is mostly because those appliances are open box items. Some of the items may have minor cosmetic damages such as a dent. The store run tests on them to make sure they are fully functional. Those appliances are under the manufacturer warranty, and I believe A4L also offers warranty. 2. Knowledgeable Staff: The sales associates were friendly, helpful and well-informed about the products. Michael, the store owner, helped me evaluate the pros and cons of each options and we decided on the refrigerator, washer and the dryer that are not only beautiful but also functional for my family's needs. 3. Fast Delivery: The store offered delivery, which was a huge plus for me. What to consider: 1. Cosmetic Flaws: like I mentioned earlier, some of the discounted items had minor scratches or dents. While these didn't impact functionality, it's something to consider if aesthetics are important. 2. Variety of brands: while there is a decent selection of good brands such as LE and Samsung, you may not have as large of selection as those big box retailers. Verdict: A4L is an excellent place for anyone looking to save money on appliances without sacrificing quality. While the trade-off may be minor cosmetic issues, the savings are worth it. I'll definitely return for future purchases!

The people were nice and it seemed to go smoothly. When I got to the store the dryer was packaged up in clear cellophane. I could see the few scratches it had,,,,everything seemed ok. I went to pay for it and they rounded up to $450, I did not say anything, no big deal. The floor help was nice and helped me load the dryer and even got me extra cardboard to protect it. I got home and removed the cellophane and to my surprise my wife said it is used! There was lent in the trap. After removing the screen there was hair and dirt on the inside. This was a used dryer, not just a scratch and dent. The price I paid was for a brand new dryer with some scratches, this dryer should have been cheaper for having been used for no telling how long. If you do business here,,,,,Caveat emptor, let the buyer beware!!!!!!

Arriving around noonish I expected a long wait to order stain. I was met, at the paint area, by a very friendly and competent woman. Since I was matching the color that my neighbor used she quickly located the correct stain and provided guidance regarding how much stain I needed. She also opened one of the cans to ensure that it was the right color (the had to add tint). Less than 15 minutes later I was checking out and on my way to lunch. And however, I will state. This is extremely disappointing to me- all of the boxes I picked up have a TON of EXTREME amount of dust. A super thick layer that's been on there for months and months. This is inappropriate & inadequate and the store manager should know better than this! Do better and be better! I've been shopping here a lot only because I have to because it's down from a house I'm remodeling, but I do have other choices on other Home Depot's. This should never happen.

We eventually spoke with a gentleman named Dylan who pointed us in the right direction. The selection of chargers was minimal but we ended up finding what we needed. I feel like it's typically Best Buy that has the best value as far as price goes. Anyhow. We spoke to Dylan briefly about returning to purchase a PS5 and a new iPhone 17 pro max for myself and he was kind enough to take us to the correct departments for both of those. We did end up going back for the PS5 and the iPhone, separate times, and unfortunately the iPhone was/is currently still out of stock. Once they re-stock, I'll definitely be back to buy my new phone. It's just so much less chaotic than going directly to Apple or Verizon.

Hopefully Best Buy can increase the supply in the future so more collectors get a fair chance. I'll keep trying my luck next time. Wish everyone good luck and happy hunting! Cheers!

****The forthcoming review is for the interaction with management at this Lowe's location***…read more I came into this location several weeks ago for the sole purposes of securing materials for Thing One's Eagle Scout project. When we arrived at the location, we requested to speak with a manager. After a brief conversation with one manager, we were directed to two other managers' specifically the pro sales manager, Craig Cottier, and Brian Scott, the assistant manager of specialty sales. Both of these managers went over the Eagle Scout proposal in depth with Thing One so they could fully understand what he was trying to accomplish. After a lengthy discussion, we were advised by the managers that the store had already reached their donation cap for the year, but they would try to work with Thing One to get discounted materials for the project. While I could pay for the materials myself, for those who are not aware, there is a fundraising component of an Eagle Scout project with specific rules and regulations. Eagle candidates may ask for donations of materials or discounts on materials from companies or individuals. The candidate must furnish a list of prospective donors with their fundraising application, per national policy, for council approval before soliciting the material donations or discounts. Candidates may also hold fundraising events, such as car washes, meat stick sales, and the like, with an approved application. Many scouts do fundraising or ask for donations as it allows them to show their leadership, communication, and project management skills they've learned while in the BSA. Thing One was able to get 28 pieces of 2x8 Pressure Treated Pine for less than $35 (that's a savings of over $350). The Pine was of excellent quality. Because of the generosity of Lowes and Craig and Brian, Thing One was able to complete his Eagle Scout project successfully while living up to the Boy Scout Law of being thrifty.

We started in June 2025 and were told our custom double doors would be measured, ordered, and installed within four to six weeks. We cancelled the order in December 2025 -- six months later -- having never received the doors. What went wrong: - After measurement, no one contacted us to collect payment. We had to chase it down ourselves, with several different people. - After we paid ~$4,000 in full, the door still wasn't ordered for another week -- until we called to check. - The delivery date moved five times: Oct 1 Oct 15 Nov 19 Dec 17 Jan 14. We were rarely notified proactively. - We spoke with more than 20 different employees across the in-store team, IST, and delivery - over six months of our year. Almost none had context from prior calls. We re-explained our situation from scratch every time. - Our original salesperson Simon became unreachable for months despite Lowe's confirming he still worked there. - Lowe's delivery repeatedly tried to ship the door frame and installation materials without the actual door. I had to call multiple times over several months to stop partial deliveries -- including one attempted on Christmas Eve while I was traveling. - Even the refund process took multiple calls, a mailed gift card, and an in-person store visit to finalize. After six months, we did receive a full refund of the $4000 plus $250 when I asked for compensation for this maddening ridiculousness. A few reps along the way genuinely tried to help. The problem isn't the people -- it's a system with no clear ownership, poor team communication, and no one accountable for seeing a project through. If you're considering a custom door installation through Lowe's, go in with clear expectations and a lot of patience. We wouldn't do it again.
