The food was good. Pretty decent portions. I am of Iranian American so home made food tastes better than here, but this place is still worth checking out. My husband got the chicken and beef koobideh. The chicken tasted better than the beef. It came with a side of fesenjoon, which was interesting. The fesenjoon was too sweet for what I like and am used to, but I tend to like mine more sour. I ordered the baghala polo with lamb. It was pretty good! Would love maybe a little more salt to add depth of flavor however the lamb was perfectly cooked and very tender. I heard they do a lunch buffet which I would be interested in trying out if I'm in the area. The ambience and service was wonderful. Some nights they have live music. Would recommend coming here on a date or with a group when there is entertainment. read more

This restaurant is a new addition to Foothill Ranch. It's quite fancy. I wasn't feeling too well and so we did take out. Therefore, unfortunately, I can't comment on the dining in experience. Caspian has been around for a long time in Irvine so it has a loyal fan base. We were excited to try it. We ordered the chicken koobideh plate with a side of hummus. We had ordered a side beef koobideh as well but they did not pack it or charge for it so, it's fine but I was looking forward to trying their beef koobideh. Overall, the food was okay, maybe a tad under seasoned. I'd probably try something else the next time. Still, I'm happy Foothill Ranch has one more nice sit down restaurant. And I'm looking forward to trying other kebabs here. read more

Solid food. The restaurant is going for a high end Mediterranean restaurant. As such it's a nicer place and the prices are higher. Dinner was decent but overpriced on my opinion. However, the lunch buffet is a fantastic deal which I highly recommend. They had shrimp grilled to order coming out quickly and many delicious offerings brought out frequently. read more

Nice atmosphere and friendly service. The calamari appetizer came with two sauces. I didn't care for the sauce with the smoked paprika but it was okay with the marinara. The Caesar salad was lemony and okay. The barg was nicely marinated and tender and the chicken koobideh was moist and flavorful. It came with basmati rice and grilled jalapeño. They forgot the little cherry tomatoes but brought it out when I asked for some. My friend had to ask for the rice not to be crispy because she doesn't like it like that and they obliged.For dessert the crème brûlée was not a traditional crème brulee. There was no custard or torched sugar topping. It was more like a mousse and topped with berries and was a bit strange to us. The tiramisu was okay. We enjoyed sitting outside in the patio with the beautiful lights and decor. I would come back again and try other things on the menu. read more

First time visit.. Beautiful interior.. Greeted upon entry and quickly seated. Arrived around 2:45 pm (Friday), approximately (4) other tables occupied inside. We ordered appetizers, four dinners and one child's plate. Food portions were great, food looked amazing and tasted great. I had chicken shish kabob which was delicious. Everyone enjoyed their meal and we shared tastings between us. My tasting of the salmon found it to be overcooked (friend eating it said it was OK). Our waitress was friendly and when asked to suggest items, was informative and explained choices to us. My only thought would be she needed to check on the table more often. Food was great.. place/Interior looks very classy. Staff friendly. Critique..$$$ Prices I feel are a tad high. Maybe next time we don't need (3) appetizers. The smell of chelo kabob is surrounding the whole marketplace. My buddies mouth Ali was watering, he suggested we come take a stop here on our way to chick fil a. The restaurant is nice and elegant inside, can be a great place for a date or family outting. We got to the restaurant around 4:30 and we were the first ones there so a reservation wasn't needed. There was a mood shift at about 5pm where the curtains were opened and the fireplaces were turned on. The waitress was very attentive with the table, always refilling our waters and asking if we needed everything. We ordered the cauliflower for starters (not pictured), the chicken kabob x2, Caspian Alfredo pasta, Angelhair pasta, and the lentil soup. I do think there were some plates that didn't have a full explanation of what was on the dish. Such as the cranberries on top of the balsmati rice with the chicken. Also fair warning, the beans are pretttty sweet. Everything else was good and flavorful because pasta is pasta and you can't really mess up soup, but they really do enjoy tomatoes on every dish. As we left around 5:30, tables started to fill up. If you go any later, it seems you may want to put in for a reservation! Also! Oh no, i think Yelp deleted all the pictures I took through the app for my review. So unfortunately nothing of the food is pictured. But there's pictures of our empty plates and the waitress coming around to clear them for the main course and pictures of the private seating area located at the front of the restaurant! read more
