I wish I could give zero stars. I had Cassandra do over $300 of work to several suits, blazers, and pants. When I got them back, the seams were crooked, hems unfinished, fabric left bunched up, and the sleeve of my suit was SUPER GLUED in place. I took the clothes to another tailor to be fixed, and they were deemed "borderline unsalvageable." I cannot believe that this place has any positive reviews, as I honestly think I could have done a better job myself watching YouTube videos. I will say that Cassandra refunded me in full without any argument, which I appreciated, but also made me certain this isn't the first time she's gotten this bad of a complaint. Take your business to Anna's alterations, they do top notch work at cheaper prices than Cassandra's. I'm absolutely baffled that this place is still in business. read more

I brought my bridesmaid dress to Cassandra at the beginning of February for a Memorial Weekend wedding. I had a bit of alteration requests like taking in the straps, adding bra padding and hemming the dress. I wanted to give Cassandra plenty of time to do the dress right and not be rushed by the approaching prom season. I came for my first fitting mid April and only the straps had been taken in, but it was still not enough because the dress did not fit like I wanted it to. Cassandra then made me wait for 35 minutes as she finished the dress and let me leave with it. She only ever lets you try on the dress in a small dark changing room and never lets you walk into some light to examine the dress. Upon taking it home, I tried it on again and realized the bra cups were wrinkled under the layer of chiffon and completely noticeable and the hem was not finished. I contacted Cassandra and she made an appointment with me THE DAY BEFORE I LEFT FOR THE WEDDING AT THE END OF MAY. After I had already paid $90 for all this and still unhappy I wanted it fixed. I go to Cassandra on May 24th at 1 PM and she's not there. I wait almost an hour for her to come in and fix the dress. She put the fixed the bra pads but still not to a point where they were secure in the dress as one fell out during the reception. I thought the hem was fixed as it was a problem before and she had marked the length- I realized at the wedding only part of the hem had been finished. Throughout the wedding day my dress was stepped on, and the chiffon pulled- eventually pulling the whole hem out and now I have 4 inches of frayed chiffon. Not only is the financial investment a disappointment-my $250 bridesmaid dress and $90 alterations are now ruined- but the dress was an annoyance for my friend's beautiful day. If you are ever in the Charlotte area or live there and need emergency help with alterations, do not hesitate, Cassandra's is the place you MUST go. I had a dress designed while stationed overseas but I couldn't try the dress on prior before being sewn together. I received the dress 2 days before my sister's wedding and I was maid of honor. I wear a size 12. The dress was made for a size 4/6. It was horrible! I flew from Los Angeles into Charlotte and searched the yellow pages. I went to two different places that could not fix it. Cassandra's website showed it closed on Monday, but I still called. She was in the shop on her day off and told me to come by to see if she could assist. From the time I walked in her shopped she immediately gave a warm feeling of, "I am sure I can help". She spent that day and the next day to basically remake the dress all over again during a busy holiday...July 4th. Her rate was super cheap and she simply took a stressful situation and just said, "Don't worry, I will fix it, and you will be okay." She gets 10 stars instead of 5. Yelp lead me to Cassandra's alterations, as I searched for place in Charlotte to get a bridesmaid gown nipped and tucked. I dropped my dress off on a Wednesday and it was ready within a week. Had it hemmed and the shoulder straps shortened. Cost $65, but the dress had three layers of fabric. Also had another dress hemmed and a zipped fixed. I don't remember how much they were, but I felt that everything was reasonably priced. Most important, Cassandra and her friend did good work and were very professional. They know what they are doing. Also had a friend whose original wedding dress was botched by the vendor and Cassandra and co were able to tell her exactly what went wrong and how to fix it. I live in Huntersville and usually go to the University area for my alterations but didn't have time to drive over there so I thought I would give Cassandra's a try. I had 2 pairs of women's jeans hemmed for $24, about $6 more than what I'm used to paying. They were completed on time and the length is fine but it's the way they are hemmed that seems odd to me. There's a hard crease above the sew line so now when my jeans come out of the dryer they want to roll up where the crease is. I have a hard time keeping them straight. I placed a call and made appointment to come in for fitting for the items. I needed the slacks hemmed and cuffed. And I needed the jeans hemmed. I brought Cassandra my wedding dress from almost 20 years ago and she turned it into a modern style "party" dress for me to wear to semi-formal events. My original plan was to wear the dress to the wedding of my youngest niece in May, but the event was a very casual outdoor wedding, plus the weather did not cooperate, so I chose a more casual outfit for that. But another niece is getting married in a formal ceremony in October and it will be perfect. I called Cassandra's Alterations and set up an appointment with her for today. Her shop is reminiscent of a chic boutique with exposed brick walls and wood shelving. There are tailor-made suits, dress shirts hanging on the wall. I was warmly greeted by an associate who asked "are you here to see Cassandra?" She came out and I immediately felt comfortable. After the bad experience I had at another shop, I was a little apprehensive to bring in my bridesmaid dress to be altered to fit. I was in and out in 10 minutes or less. Cassandra was able to measure and determine what she could do with the dress, explaining everything to me along the way. Her price was very reasonable too! I would recommend her to anyone. I had a bridesmaid dress altered. The top section featured a stiff organza overlay that stuck out much too far for my small chest. This seemed like a tricky alteration to me, since it wasn't a simple matter of tucking in existing seams, but Cassandra did a great job and the dress was very flattering. This was my very first visit. Cassandra was sitting at the back of the store with her back to the door when I walked in. I looked around for a moment and noticed her. She turns from her work. No "hello" or "how are you doing". Without a smile or measure of politeness she simply says "Yes?" I was taken aback. She seemed genuinely annoyed at my being there. I felt genuinely awkward and uninvited. I thought to myself "what does she mean 'Yes?' Isn't this an alteration store? I am obviously here for an alteration. Was I supposed to have an appointment? Should I have called ahead?" I stammer around my words and she coldly interrupts with "Are you here for an alteration, I'll be there in a minute" and turns back to her work. With this brief interaction, I knew this was not the kind of person I wanted to work with. I turned and left. She followed but just enough to stick her head out of the front door.
