We drive 15 miles extra to a store that carries this milk , it IS that much better !! And I don't even like milk ! But in my cappuccino , you can feel the love in that milk! I know that sounds hokey, but a small company puts their heart and soul into their products ! Look at Ben &Jerry's , I had the vanilla flavor last night , and it was AWFUL !!! I have had that ice cream since it was "born" and when it was sold to that conglomerate company , the quality has gone from best to worst . The ice cream last night tasted like ice milk , not ice cream. I can't wait to find Kingdom Creamery ice cream , and when we are released to travel , we are certainly headed to East Hardwick for LOTS of ice cream ! Inside the building, we found a display of vegetables fridgerated, local beers and wines, and produce such as tomatoes, onions, and potatoes. We also found that they served local VT ice cream. Their scoops are generous and the ice cream choices plentiful. I think we may have to come by here to try out the other ice creams. There are picnic tables in the back you can enjoy your ice cream treat and take in the farm view.

I know it was October, the end of the season. but I still expected the cabin to be clean. The bathroom mirror was a mess and the baseboard had a season's worth of hair and dust from other guests. There were unwashed coffee cups and a big smear on the picture window. It was disappointin. Breakfasts were tolerable, melon the best part. Under the prior ownership, the lodge cooked custom breakfasts with the best muffins ever (fond memories of French puff and raspberry muffins), not a lukewarm buffet. We had dinner for 6 there one night and it was a debacle. Service could not have been worse. One fellow ordered an appetizer as his main course and it was dellivered to the center of the table for people to share. Plates came out at random so some people ate while others waited. One friend and I waited more than a hour while everyone else finished their dinners. We finally got our two dinners as one of our party finished his dessert. The timing was the worst I've ever experienced. The waitress was incompetent and had to be reminded to bring anything we needed. The dining experience was so wretched that I don't even remember the food. The cold lack of hospitality, the state of our cabin, and the at best mediocrity of our dining has led us to find another place to stay when we visit. We can do better and pay less.

Service was excellent. The cashier had the best cheerful smile and attitude. She also served and bused the tables so she was always asking everyone one everything was. Place is inviting, I can only imagine what the vibe is in the morning when they serve breakfast. Probably will pop in when I head out of town to fuel up for the ride home. This place is definitely worth the stop not only because of what I wrote but because it's a local business and you should avoid the quick fast meal spots.
