Super yummy! I decided to try Cast Iron after having it recommended to me by a coworker. It was great! I ordered the Chicken Thang with a side of garlic fries. The sandwich was thick with the juiciest chicken. I loved the garlic fries. They were super garlicky with a crispy cheese on top. The fries are thin and crinkle cut. They were the perfect mix of crispy yet juicy. One thing to note, if you order for pickup, make sure to arrive promptly because the food can get pretty soggy otherwise. The side sauce was pretty good too. I wish there was an online substitution option though because I'd prefer something like ranch instead. This spot's prices are a touch higher compared to restaurants in the area but the quality and portions really justify it. The employees are incredibly kind. When I stopped by to pickup my order, there was an employee cleaning the outside patio who immediately stopped what she was doing to open the door for me, went inside and washed her hands before even handing me the bag. The small details like this really make the experience so much better. It is especially reassuring to see how sanitary they are here too. Despite looking a bit small from the outside, it it quite spacious and modern inside. It has that modern hipster restaurant feel. On a warm day, it would be nice to sit under their covered patio. I wanted to sample the taquitos and the pulled pork so I ordered the taquitos as a shareable plate and the pulled pork as the light lunch option. This came with one slider instead of two, and it was very filling. The fries were seasoned perfectly and came with the side of ketchup. We used to come here at least once a week because it used to be the best burger place in Stockton with great beer and ever since it changed management the food isn't as great.. almost as if they are switching ingredients for cheaper quality(jelly on the Pb&j burger and pickles) and they also increased the prices but somehow portions got way smaller. Seems like they lost a lot of staff too because my food took 57 minutes to be ready. All these changes have not been great and It's very unfortunate because it was one of our favorite dinner spots. I've wanted to try this restaurant for a long time, so I finally splurged and ordered through DoorDash. It took about an hour from order to delivery, and my Dasher messaged me to know they were waiting at the restaurant for the food to be ready. The food arrived cold, which was expected for a Friday night delivery. The Beyond Burger I received was nothing like the images online--a clear bait-and-switch. It was served on two thin, cold, soggy slices of white bread that weren't even sliced in half. When I tried to pick it up, it fell apart. I had to use my fingers to shovel the cold, mushy mess into my mouth, and it was completely unappetizing. The restaurant clearly doesn't prioritize the quality of the food it delivers through DoorDash. I paid $50--still tipping my Dasher--for what was essentially slop. read more

Cast Iron has a really chill ambiance and great service! It's a little gem in downtown Stockton and tbh reminds me of an SF restaurant with how trendy it is. My favorite highlight from the restaurant was the Brussels sprouts tacos! Salty , sweet, and savory! Love that they have vegan and vegetarian options! I ordered a brownie to go and it was okay. I also had a few bites of skillet Mac from a friend and I felt it lacked flavor and was a bit dry. The staff were very friendly and attentive and even helped me decide what dessert I wanted to take home! It was a great evening. Quite the find!! We were very excited to try out The Cast Iron tonight. First impression - whoa, what a cool place! We quickly learned that we needed to get in line to place our order at the counter then take a seat indoors/outdoors. The staff at the front counter were very friendly and able to answer our questions without hesitation. Additionally, I observed how well the staff worked together which says a lot about morale of the employees (and management). We placed our order and decided to take our cocktails and table-top order placard outside to sit since there was live music outside. No more than 10 minutes later our food was brought out. My one "itch" about our experience is that the food came separately. So while I'm sure my food was hot, I waited until my partners food was served before diving in. By the time his food arrived the outside air had cooled my food. Nonetheless, the food was still very good. I had the regular bacon cheeseburger with fries. The burger was cooked to perfection, melted cheese, touch of dressing and I totally appreciated the arugula on the burger. The seasoned fries were excellent as were the tater tots! There were large amount of tater tots and fries, plenty to share between the two of us, and even then we had leftovers which we gave to someone on the street. The sign reads "best burgers." On a recent trip driving from Sacramento to my home in North Carolina and in the Stockton area, I looked up on the Russian River site and found Cast Iron Trading Compny as a location of authorized retailers. What a mistake. I clearly had my mind on my trip and didn't realize the 6 Happy Hops bottles I purchased were sold at 2x the regular retail price. I could have gotten a complete case for the $84 I paid for those 6. I understand a bit of a premium and an extra dollar would have been ok. I arrived at the restaurant at 12:25 and placed my order at about 1230. I watched order after order after order go out to tables before my food even came to me. I waited 30 minutes for my food to finally show up in the window, and when it came to my table, it was cold so cold that the cheese was not melted on my food And half of the items that were advertised to be on the burger we're not included. I specifically went there because they had plant-based options and it seemed as though my order was forgotten because people who arrived after I did got their food promptly while mine was still nowhere to be found.
