HAPPY Hour at the fed. Place was lively enough behind me. I sat at the bar. Christian was the bar attendant. I called him chris a few times. Service was great from Christian and his co workers. Food was unique. I dont recal the lsst time eating a steak that chardbroild. I didn't get the compound butter on the steak because they were out. Great sides to accompany the great portionsed rub eye. I got medium rare. It was cook just that. They did offer A1 steak sauce which help. Wish it was seasoned more and seared but thats not how it prepare here. Great grill markes btw. Excellent dinner options for the price. The mozzarella sticks were your basic, marinara was good. Good few chuck of tomato. The shrimp cocktail was another unique item. It was a grilled shrimp cocktail with iceberg lettuce as the base. Wish the sauce was a bit more horseradish foward. It was basically ketchup. Shrimp were cooked well and fairly larget size. Tasty nonetheless. All the beverages were great. Especially the dessert. I also got the western style burger and fries for the next day. Thick patty, brioche bun cheddar cheese , bacon, onion rings, bbq sauce. Great burger. Fries fresh would have been better. Tasty nonetheless. This is my second time in here. Outside the door 3rd time. I be back to try more. I had a great time. TOTAL WITH TIP WAS ABOUT $170. don't quote on that..

Happy hour is 3-6 with good deals on appetizers and drinks! Chicken wings, loaded fries and pretzels were all very good. Watermelon margarita and green tea shots were also good. We went on a Friday after work and I believe you have to have a reservation. The servers were very nice and accommodating. We will be going again.

This has become our after work spot for a happy hour beer for the last few years. The service is always great and they always have sports on the tv. I would highly recommend the honey habanero wings and Asada Fries. Always happy to come to Fed! See yall soon!

First want to shout out our bartender Yajira, she made our drinks so tasty. She had such a sweet energy to her. The food was tasty, fries were delicious, probably the best mozzarella sticks I've ever tasted and good strips. The vibe was nice, music was good and we played about 5 rounds of pool table ! S/o to the whole team for making our 1st stop amazing, we'll def be coming again :)

This Line margarita is the best margarita I've ever tasted in life and I told Sylvia this

I literally stumbled upon this place as I left my Tattoo appointment located down the street from this establishment. I saw that they had happy hour so I immediately had to come check them out! The decor is so eclectic. It is located very near the courthouse located in Stockton in downtown Stockton to be exact. When I entered, I was immediately greeted by Sylvia and another lady I did not catch her name. However, the customer service was beyond exceptional. It wasn't busy at the time that I came in. The happy hour menu is extremely generous for your budget and they do not skimp at all on the drinks nor the food offered. I will be back to this place. It is worth the 35 minute drive for me from Sacramento definitely. Please check this place out. Definitely ask for Sylvia. She will make sure you are taken care of very well.

Drinks were phenomenal and the seasoning on everything was perfect not too much not too little we had the chicken salad and ribeye with the garlic mashed potatoes and vegetables. Servers were very welcoming and friendly we had great conversation and the ambience of the restaurant was such a vibe it's definitely one of my regular places to go now. I recommend the specialty cocktails, they're soooo good!

    Ribeye Steak Sandwich (medium rare)

What I loved: I walked in early afternoon... The place was empty except for two ladies having lunch. Nice music was playing... and it was at a volume that would still allow conversation and thoughts to be had I was immediately greeted and seated. Then my drink order was taken within a few minutes. I had a question about the sandwich I was about to order and got a friendly answer. I had the ribeye steak sandwich which was seasoned and cooked to medium rare perfection. Could use work: took off the star because the tables were bare.. which means they have to bring you EVERYTHING you're going to need. I asked for ice tea. It was brought and waitress walked away, which means if I want sweetener I have to call after her to get it. I order fries... Ketchup wasn't offered so I had to ask. I also had to ask for a knife. This may not bother some people . But I came here to enjoy a meal and if they don't provide these things on the table, I'm used to the staff thinking ahead to ask about all of the accoutrements I might need so I don't have to ask.

Fries hot and tender just as hot. Served with a small side of ranch. A very basic chicken tender. Was expecting more but it was hot, steak fries would have been more preferable. Hoping these were house made tenders. Hubby ordered steak sandwich said it was good would ask for medium next time on more rare side than he likes. But said it was good. Service was good. Didn't refil my drink but refilled our water. The place is nice bar vibe. Next time will try another meal.

A very different experience from the previous 5-star I gave. This time I tried the Cajun chicken pasta.. It was horrible! Absolutely nothing about it was Cajun. Sauce was non existent, chicken breast was bland as hell. No Cajun/spicy/hot. I'm interested in what they think is Cajun cuz this ain't it! Waste of money & taste buds. I'll stick to the steak if I return.

    Take a cute pic here!

Some plates were worth it, others weren't, and at the prices they're charging the gaps were hard to ignore. The appetizers were the highlight of the meal. The deviled eggs were a hit at the table and went fast. The jalapeño on each one was a nice touch, though the heat varied depending on which egg you grabbed since it was just a thin slice. The salmon cakes were solid, nothing to complain about. My mom's ceviche tostada was loaded, the avocado was generous and fresh, but the ceviche itself lacked the acidity you expect from the dish and had very little shrimp in it. She said it felt more like a lunch item than a dinner offering, though two of them were filling. My mom's friend had the steak frites, which was the standout plate of the night: a lean cut with a rich mushroom béchamel, well cooked, and the frites were fried rather than what you might expect, but the flavor delivered. My dad's spinach salad was underwhelming, overdressed with a balsamic that was too sharp and overpowered everything else. My ribeye was the disappointment. At $65 I expected better. It was thin, closer to pounded than what you'd expect from the cut, came out medium instead of medium rare, and didn't feel substantial for the price. The baked potato was a basic side, sour cream and onion, nothing more. The broccolini arrived at room temperature, borderline cold, which was unexpected. The au jus on the side didn't add much for me. Service was attentive but veered into overdone territory, the kind of performative politeness that signals they want a good tip more than they're genuinely being warm. It was noticeable. Also worth knowing: if you're seated near the windows, the afternoon sun can be blinding depending on when you go. The atmosphere is genuinely nice and this place works better as a brunch spot than a special occasion dinner destination. I've had better meals here before, which is why I know they can do better. One practical note: if you're parking in the disabled spots near the leasing center next door, the sidewalk doesn't connect to the restaurant entrance. You'll need to go through the parking lot to get there.

The sandwich was thick with the juiciest chicken. I loved the garlic fries. They were super garlicky with a crispy cheese on top. The fries are thin and crinkle cut. They were the perfect mix of crispy yet juicy. One thing to note, if you order for pickup, make sure to arrive promptly because the food can get pretty soggy otherwise. The side sauce was pretty good too. I wish there was an online substitution option though because I'd prefer something like ranch instead. This spot's prices are a touch higher compared to restaurants in the area but the quality and portions really justify it. The employees are incredibly kind. When I stopped by to pickup my order, there was an employee cleaning the outside patio who immediately stopped what she was doing to open the door for me, went inside and washed her hands before even handing me the bag. The small details like this really make the experience so much better. It is especially reassuring to see how sanitary they are here too. Despite looking a bit small from the outside, it it quite spacious and modern inside. It has that modern hipster restaurant feel. On a warm day, it would be nice to sit under their covered patio. I will be returning to try more of their menu!

I actually like going into places like these... places that would turn off most passers-by. The time was pretty early on a Summer morning, the local Farmer's Market was just setting up, and temperatures were rising as well as the humidity. John's Place had no air circulation at all. I was just going to order a quick American breakfast... eggs and whatever. But I noticed Vietnamese dishes on the right side of their small menu! Ordered some of their Pho... For $5 a bowl, what can go wrong? And my wallet would not be the worse for the experience. The Pho came in a pretty big bowl, but the soup was in one word... Water, just plain water. And not very much meat. I had to stuff my Pho with the sides that came with the Pho... bean sprouts, jalapeno peppers, etc. The waitress came over and apologized for the Pho, explaining that the restaurant had to accommodate the tastes of it's customer base... who disliked unusual spices. The waitresses were nice enough and attentive... But one visit is enough for me. Hope yelpers appreciate this review... took a body shot for the home team with this visit! Update 12-22-2007 I was going to get more records from the County Recorder's office and thought to myself "Where to go to eat?". After the initial review of John's Place, I received a message from another Yelper to try John's Place a second time... that the first time was an anomaly. OK... let's try this one again.... Disappointment #1: Ordered a Three Meat Omelette. Let me ask you a question... If you saw Three Meat Omelette on the menu... what would you think? You would think, like I thought, "Wow, an Omelette with three kinds of meat!" You'd be totally wrong! Once the waiter (maybe owner) asked me what kind of meat I wanted, I knew this was NOT a Three-Meat Omelette. It was a Single Meat Omelette from a choice of three kinds of meat: Linked Sausage, Ham, or Bacon. Ordered the Bacon (SIGH!). Disappointment #2: Once the Omelette came... it looked pretty good. As I took my first bite, I said to myself: "Where's the Hell is the f****** BACON?!?!?!" I looked inside the Omelette and found bits of Ham and Bacon. What the heck kind of Bacon were they using? Minor Disappointment #1: Hash Browns under cooked. Still edible, but definitely needed a few more minutes on the Grill. Minor Disappointment #2: New sign on the wall... Only 1 refill of Coffee per cusotmer. WTF?!?!? I don't drink that much Coffee anyway... but what if I did? Rating does not change one bit! This is definitely my last visit.
