Great place to eat very friendly. I ordered the chimichanga it was good just would have liked more meat in my opinion it was light on the meat. But it was delicious. They got a salsa bar, and they let me get fries instead of rice and beans, make sure to order them extra crispy. Most meals deals average $20.00 and come with a drink that you can refill. They don't charge extra for Jamaica, horchata, pineapple, tamarind drinks. The guy cooking and the girls serving were really sweet and nice. Stopped by Castaneda's Mexican Food in Baker during our trip to grab a quick bite while charging the car. We ordered the cabeza quesadilla, lengua street tacos, and al pastor street tacos. The standout by far was the cabeza quesadilla. It came generously filled with soft, juicy cabeza and perfectly melted cheese, and they served it with pico de gallo, shredded cabbage, guacamole, and sour cream on the side. The cabeza was rich, tender, and full of flavor. Highly recommend this and would 100% order it again if we're ever back. The lengua tacos were a bit of a letdown. The meat was noticeably drier and chewier compared to lengua we've had at other taco spots. The al pastor marinade leaned very salty--we found ourselves pretty thirsty afterward and kept drinking water for the rest of the drive. Ambiance-wise, it's a fast-food setup. You order and pay at the cashier, then they bring the food out to your table. Service was prompt and efficient. We got our food within about 5 minutes of ordering, which is great when you're on the go. Overall, an acceptable pit stop with quick service. However, we both preferred the overall dining experience at Los Dos Toritos by a mile (no pun intended!) due to the meats quality and their salsa bar. read more

I regularly travel between Vegas and SoCal and recently came across Castanedas. I love that they have a variety of meats, including lengua...my favorite. The people working were very nice and accommodating when I wanted to change my taco salad to carne asada instead of chicken. Could be better. This place is adjacent to a large, brand new Tesla Supercharging station. Baker is a great place to top off your battery when going to or from Las Vegas. Not because the battery is empty, but because this is where your bladder needs a break!! Plug in your car, walk a short distance across the lot and go in to Castenadas! Not a single car in the drive up, not a single car in the restaurant parking area, not a single guest sitting in the dining room. There are two neon signs glowing "OPEN"! So, I went inside. Two staff behind the counter scattered when I walked in...nobody at the register when I approached. A minute later, a lady appeared to take my order. Ordered a quesadilla and a soft drink to go. Since I'm now a customer I availed myself of the "customer only restrooms". Even though not busy, rest room was kind of shabby. Paper towel roll was laying in the sink..a giant roll. So after you was your hands, you have to peel off a few inches from this roll laying in the sink (wet from laying here). Kind of nasty, wiping your hands with paper towels wet from who knows what...the food is good...and would be a great place to get a snack or meal when you stop to tip off your battery...could make it a little more friendly toward people at the charger. There is no foot traffic here...so the real onky market is Tesla Supercharger guests...duh...come on Castenadas...act a little happier to see us. FYI, there is another Tesla Supercharger on the other side of Baker..has a Dari Queen in the parking area. Looked a lot busier..I think I'll try it in my return. read more
