I had a shrimp po boy. 5-6 pieces of shrimp on a bun. Small dish with lettuce & sliced tomato. Container of tarter sauce. I didn't realize I would be building the sandwich. I decided just to eat the shrimp (which was grilled). Shrimp was fabulous. My husband had the jambalaya and the boat trash. He liked the jambalaya. Boat trash was ok, but nothing special. If you like fried food, this is the place to go. Service was fine, but slow (we knew that going in). Very sweet server and hostess. Very causal place which was fine. I've been looking for catfish on the bone...found it!! I had the three piece on the bone whole catfish (no head for those of you who only eat filets). Catfish just taste better on the bone. Also slaw, cheese grits, and a side of fries. My brother had the three piece filets with cheese grits and baked beans. The food here is excellent. The service is excellent. The staff is friendly. You've got to try this place right off of I-10 at the Bonifay exit. I found it to be a spot I would drive 40 miles north of PCB to have dinner. For dessert, my brother had the homemade apple cobbler with vanilla ice cream. I tried a spoon full...very good!! So take a break from the beach restaurants. The dollar value is excellent. IMO, The food was terrible, over priced and low quality. Maybe the locals like it, I dunno. The fried food is all breading and very little seafood. The water, in a styrofoam cup, tasted like soap. The shrimp were cooked perfectly, but could've used more seasoning. The onion rings were too greasy to eat. Don't order the buffalo wings that are super greasy and overly breaded. Blackened mahi-mahi was overly seasoned. Sweet tea, service, and cheesy grits were good. read more

Amazing food. We were headed home and stopped at the gas station in front of the restaurant, decided to go in for a bite; best choice my husband and I made. Seems to be a family operated restaurant. The food was extremely flavorful. We had the Jambalaya soup, buffalo shrimp and grilled Mahi. The shrimp was phenomenal! Halfway between Pensacola and Tallahassee, this place was awesome. Great fresh seafood -fried or otherwise- that would not disappoint. I am very critical of customer service in Florida, always saying that you know you are in Florida by the service. This place has some of the best service I have experienced in many places and parts of the country. Staff is constantly checking on you and making sure you are pleased with everything. Stopped here for dinner after a long drive from Texas and boy was this food delicious! My husband & I both had the trash platter which included a fried fish fillet, oysters, fried colossal shrimp & a stuffed crab! All that plus 2 sides for just $13.99! We stopped in last night on a drive between Fort Rucker and the Florida coast. Had an excellent meal, with the sole exception of the jambalaya--the sorriest, watery, most flavorless version of jambalaya I've ever seen. And pretty skimpy with the non-rice ingredients. Please just take it off menu. We'd all go back though--the food was fantastic otherwise. The only thing that outshines the food here is the sweet service. We have a one and a two year old boys, who loved the fried fish and grits (which were outstanding!). I had the boiled shrimp salad, and I don't think I have ever enjoyed such perfectly plump, seasoned shrimp in my life (including at very high end restaurants). My husband had the fried shrimp po boy, which was also incredible. Less than a quarter mile from highway 10. We will definitely stop back if in the area! This is a very good little seafood restaurant in Bonifay, FL, right off I-10. It's a little hard to see from the Interstate exit, so don't blink when you get off the highway because you'll miss it. My family and I ate there for lunch on a Friday. The parking lot was full of locals' cars and pickup trucks (always a good sign). The restaurant is small. It has approximately twelve tables plus some bar seating. Service was very fast and polite. I believe the restaurant is family-owned and operated. I have four children, the youngest of whom is a baby, and they were able to accommodate us easily and without any trouble. This restaurant clearly specializes in fried seafood, and it does not disappoint. The fried shrimp were outstanding: JUMBO Gulf shrimp, cooked perfectly in a very tasty batter so as not to lose their sweetness or tenderness. They were served to us directly out of the fryer and were darn near perfect. I wouldn't say they were the best fried shrimp I've ever had, but they were the best I've had in about 5-6 years. FWIW, I grew up spending a lot of time on the MS and FL Gulf Coast, so I feel pretty confident that I know what really good fried shrimp taste like. Trust me on this, these are the genuine article. Their prices are very reasonable too. IIRC, you could get a 6-shrimp platter including 2 sides for approx. $10 and a 12-shrimp platter two sides for approx. $15. Two adults could share a 12-shrimp platter for lunch and be quite full because their shrimp are JUMBO and very filling. Kids menu is also very reasonable, e.g. $5 3-shrimp platter + 1 side. Grades for the food we had are below (A+ = best I ever had. A = outstanding, B = good; C= average): Fried Shrimp: A Fried Oysters: B Onion Rings: A French Fries: B- (a little better than average) Cole slaw: F Garlic Toast: C My only real complaint about this place was the cole slaw. It's a minor complaint, but it was really bad. It was completely bland and tasted like it had been almost pureed in a blender. They need to improve this recipe since cole slaw is a typical '"fixin'" served with fried seafood. Patrons will expect good cole slaw to accompany these dishes. All in all, this is an excellent little restaurant, which we'd recommend to anyone. It's a real gem, with a convenient location right off I-10. Note, however, that they have strange hours. IIRC, they are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. read more

The best service anywhere. Everyone comes by constantly to check on you. I got the homemade potato soup as a meal and was extra hungry so I got the owner to make me a side dish of a homemade chicken salad sandwich. That is my new favorite here. It was incredible. I've never had anything bad here and never had a bad experience with the service. They have a large dessert menu and all of the desserts are homemade and taste amazing. Stop reading and go eat. We picked this restaurant to eat purely from the yelp review, and it was time for a break from driving on I10. This is a very good restaurant. Most of the items offered are fried southern style, but the breading was light and it wasn't heavy with oil. (They said they change it daily.). And the SHRIMP! Holy mackerel! They were huge! My wife ordered only six, the smallest order, and could hardly finish them. Their garlic bread was exactly as I like it: soft, buttery, and lots of garlic. I suspect that everything is hand made, including the stuffed crabs. We had to stand in line for a few minutes to get a table, and there were a bunch of locals behind us. This is a popular place. They have been open only four years. Only one negative: the coleslaw was a bit sweet for my taste, but that is a very minor thing. The service, the food, the cleanliness of the rest rooms, I really can't find anything wrong with this place. read more
