I have traveled to Marianna multiple times for work over the last couple of years and Wharf Casual Seafood is always a must visit for me when I'm in town. The restaurant serves quality creole and southern seafood options, and it feels like being transported to New Orleans for a meal. We have had our lunch today at the wharf after visiting Florida State park caverns. We had an underwhelming food at the wharf. My husband had a lunch special - shrimp Caesar salad. There very very few tiny grilled shrimps in his salad. And he had collard greens side dish - this was such a small serving of collard greens- two bites. Mine was a mahi mahi grilled dish with green beans and hush puppies. Hush puppies were unremarkable and my portion of mahi mahi was unexpectedly small. Green beans were garlicky, as promised, but lacked salt. We did not get enough food there and the food was not special. Service was good, hence, three stars. read more

This is a very casual counter service seafood place. The people were very friendly and helpful and nothing we requested was an issue. The food came out in good time and was piping hot and fresh. It was very tasty. The fried fish was battered well and not over battered. The hush puppies were good and the French fries were fantastic. We drove through town at lunch time and stumbled upon this place. At first I questioned our choice to stop here because it has a fast food vibe but man, I couldn't be more wrong! The corn was good and the salad was seasoned. They make their own lemonade which was fantastic! There was only one cashier, but she was patient and happily answered my food inquiries. I'm going to stretch things and give this 5 stars, rather than 4. I used Yelp on a trip from JAcksonville to Louisiana and stopped here for lunch. I try to stay away from fried food, so grilled mahi po boy and tacos were a nice surprise for my girlfriend and me. Too bad more Louisiana restaraunts don't do grilled :-(. The shrimp and grits sounded good too, bet that's for next time. Sides were both great, and also a very good whipped banana pudding. They were really good though. I also got a strawberry lemonade and it was so good, they use fresh strawberries and a lemon in it. If you come here often, definitely sign up for their rewards program. Casual is right...it's in a run-down plaza, very basic interior, and you have to order from the counter, although they do bring it to your table. The "hostess" behind the counter was less than warm and cheerful, and that combined with the lack of ambiance almost made us leave. However, they had fried oysters on the menu which I'd been craving so we stayed. I had the oysters and absolutely tasteless coleslaw. The oysters themselves were plump and juicy, but the breading was too heavy and flavorless. My husband had grilled shrimp wrapped in bacon and fries. Bacon was basically raw and shrimp, which plump, were tasteless. Prices were higher than they should be in a place like this. If it was going for a seaside hut vibe, they definitely missed it. You have your choice of having it, grilled, blacked, or crispy. It comes with one side and hush puppies. Oh my oh my! That was the best friend catfish I've ever had in my life. So good that I went back the next day and ordered it again! For sides, had the garlic green beans one day and the collard greens the next. Oh my, again, two big winners! There are many choices of sides so you'll definitely have no trouble finding some you like. The basket comes with hush puppies. Again, the best I've ever had. No exaggeration.
