I love this second hand store! They have an amazing mission to help families in crisis, and they have so much pride in their work! I always try to donate my unwanted wares to a worthy cause, and this has become my go-to for donations and shopping. They offer pick up of large donations too! Inventory is higher quality and it is better displayed. The prices aren't too high, and they offer daily specials. It's a pretty good sized store too. Very disappointed. Don't bother donating here. Made 3 attempts to schedule a pick up of an entire house full of items, 70% brand new with tags still on the items. Scheduled online for a donation pickup with no one calling to schedule. Waited the 3 days that their website says it would take to schedule. No calls. Called the store and was told they would pass the message on to the delivery team. No return call. Called again the next 2 days with no return call. Submitted another pick up request online with no response. Very disappointed that no on bothered to reach out to schedule this pick up. Maybe they don't need the donations? I checked a number of thrift stores before deciding on Castaways as I thought the causes they support were good causes and wanted to contribute to that. We moved on and scheduled the donation pick up with Big Brother and Sisters who were immediately responsive and scheduled a special pick up just for us being that it was an entire house full of items excluding furniture. I would not recommend this company. We scheduled a pick up of some furniture as we closed out an apartment for a deceased relative. We had a deadline, which we explained. The scheduling of the pickup was easy. Than the excuses. We worked with Andrew. First issue was it was in the 2nd floor. We explained we had an elevator so he said it was ok. Then he called and said he couldn't come because he didn't have anyone available to help him on Friday. My husband said he would be there to help him and he said it was good and he would be there. Then the day comes...my husband even moved the stuff to the parking lot HIMSELF to make things easier for Andrew. And sure enough he calls that morning and says his van "needs to be looked at" and he can't come. This has put us in a very bad situation now as the apartment keys must be turned in tomorrow. So we are loading up a little at a time to take to a different place. This is unacceptable service and I would warn anyone against relying on them to keep their word. read more

Heard of this place through TikTok and decided to finally come here after shopping at the chaotically busy and overpacked Goodwill which is conveniently across the street from each other. So here's my experience: Upon entering, you're introduced to it's theme which is very different and true to its unique self. Loved that! Also love how it wasn't crowded or chaotic like the Goodwill. It gave me a chance to unwind, breath and to take a step back from my anxiety. ( As silly as that sounds but it's true.) One look at the pricing of its glassware and I'm still very surprised to how cheaply affordable it is! Also checked out the dvd section and I am pleased with the movie titles they had in stock. However, was bummed that there were barely any video games. ( I bought The Punisher and Twilight which each is $1.79 Compared to $2.99 or $4.99 prices from the Goodwill. ) My favorite part of the store would be the book section.. really love the fact that it's in a hallway which give off an aesthetically pleasing look. Yes, it is quite small and you'd have to squeeze yourself in if there's someone else there but it was very cute and everything is labeled to its correct genre according to the books. Which will save you so much of your time from over-searching whatever you're looking for. Furniture is reasonably priced and modern! Lightly worn but still very lovely. My only downside would be the clothing section. To me it's somewhat too pricy but again that's just my opinion. Clothing isn't what I'm initially searching for anyways so I'm not bothered by it and hence why I won't kick off a star just because of that. Twice a month, my friend and I usually go to a few of our thrift stores in the area. One is the Castaways. We always enjoy going there because it has such a good atmosphere. Everyone is very friendly. Felix is the first one there to greet you with a big hello and a smile and she says where were you last week we missed you. I love that store. Everything is so clean and it's all done up very professionally. So last week I asked where is Wayne? Why is it so quiet in here ,because he's usually singing with that beautiful voice, I always call him Mr. American Idol because he knows every beautiful song that's ever been written , and he should really go on American Idol , and they said Wayne is not working there any longer. "Helping Out Those In Need" Attending Central Christian Church for some time, I've known that they had a store run by volunteers and that the proceeds go to such things like Central's food bank to help out our community as well as their ongoing support of God Behind Bars, providing bibles and other materials for those in prison/correctional facilities in a few cities. We finally got the chance to visit Castaways Resale Store up on N Stephanie Street, and I must say that this is one of the cleaner thrift stores in town. Clean, well organized, and doesn't have that weird musty smell like Goodwill and Savers do. Clothes are in good shape, you have various accessories and housewares, the kids have lots of stuffed animals, toys, and books to choose from, and there's another separate room full of books and music. The staff are very pleasant here and will let you know of any sales or upcoming deals they may have. New thrift store here in Henderson in the strip mall across DMV just opened up. They have clothing for kids and adults in all sizes, accessories, housewares, small kitchen appliances, outdoor tools and all kinds of cool finds. You are bound to find something you want here. Everything I saw was in pretty good to practically new condition. One of my finds was a brand new purse w/matching flip flops with the tags still attached to it! You walk in there's none of that musty thrift store smell at all. The place is clean, bright and well lit. Everything is organized and signs above made it easier to check out merchandise. There are little nooks in the store that's sectioned off with signage above indicating what the section has. The clothing racks are separated by sizes, so that makes it easier to find what you are looking for as well. What I learned is that this particular thrift store has partnered with a local church and non profit organization God Behind Bars.Their proceeds go to help at risk kids and families in our community. They do welcome donations, just not large furniture (ie couches, mattresses). Hey! Spring cleaning is just around the corner! (wink wink) Awesome service, everyone was welcoming, friendly and helpful. Nice to see this area of the Stephanie Promenade Center has more places to shop after having lunch over at Henry's. When donating, very kind and very professional! Just keep in mind they are not giving your furniture donations to those in need. They are selling it to use the funds for charitable causes which is great. But because of that, I found them to very very selective about what they would take as a furniture donation. They would not take some of what I had that would have been great for a family in need. For example, my kitchen table, the gap between the table leafs were uneven. read more

I love thrift stores but first and only time I went here was yesterday. Purchased an electronic item. Store policy is no returns except on electronics... and you have 72 hours to return. I attempted to return previously mentioned electronic item today because it did not work... and was told by kid at the checkout that they dont know how to process a return. He checked with his manager in back a couple of times and confirmed with me that she did not know how to process a return either, but the manager on Monday might know how. Probably should not have a manager title if you dont know how to process a return, or simply have an all sales are final policy to begin with. read more

I absolutely don't know why I often forget to drop off my donations to this store. I have only had great experiences coming here. The staff is so kind and wonderful. I think they keep this store clean and easy to shop in. They answer questions, are polite and I often get great finds in this store. I was here today for the first time and really liked the store. The volunteers working at the store are friendly and very helpful. The store is different than other thrifts I've visited in the area.It is set up like a retail store with a small consignment shop decor. It feels very warm and welcoming. The sign at the front tells what items are discounted for the day. They have a variety of big furniture pieces as soon as you enter. They also had some nice jewelry and purses towards the front of the store. There are 2 small rooms towards the back of the store one with children's toys and books. The other with electronics. The books and toys are in fair condition and priced reasonably. The shoes , jeans and clothing are towards the back and are organized by style. I was pleased to find some very nicely priced and modern tops dresses and sandals. There was not a huge selection for babies though. This is definitely a place you have to visit frequently, as the inventory changes quickly. I was there in the afternoon called to try and reserve a chair I'd seen earlier and it was gone already. What a great Resale Shop. While in town for the weekend we stopped here to check it out. The place to so big and so many different items. We weren't too sure of the price of some items but everything was very reasonable that we got. There were so many books too! Wow, we paid 47 cents per book. . Guess they don't have folks come in and clean them out only to sell higher online. My husband found four Nikon Christmas pattern plates for four dollars and now we have enough for extended family at Christmas. We look forward to returning the next time we are in town. read more
