I went to Mad for Chicken today with one other person, which was a Wednesday around 6:30pm. There were plenty of seats and we didn't have to wait. We were greeted with a complimentary popcorn, which was delicious! The waiter was also incredibly attentive to our table and made sure to check on us occasionally. The ambiance is dim, kind of like a bar restaurant without too much noise. It's a great spot for a date night out. We ordered 20 pieces of wings, half with soy garlic and the other half with mango habanero, tteok-Bokki (with cheese) and truffle fries. I personally do not handle spice very well, however the mango habanero was surprisingly good and not too spicy. In my opinion, I thought the tteok-bokki was spicier but not too spicy to the point where I couldn't take a second bite. Although I have been to many other Mad for Chicken chains before, this is my first time in the Forest Hills location and also my first time publishing a review for this restaurant. I have been going to this location for years but ai know they have one in Brooklyn. This was the first time, it was so packed that we ended up sitting at the bar. Normally, you get an order of popcorn (y'all, idk what kind of seasoning the popcorn has but it's sooo good), we didn't get any but chalked it up to the place being soooo busy. I stopped in for lunch because I was really hungry, and the place definitely has a sports bar feel with lots of wood and a few TVs. They offer complimentary popcorn, which was nice, but the seasoning on it was pretty odd. Still, hunger won, so I ate it. I ordered the chicken avocado sandwich specifically because it was grilled and not fried. What I didn't expect was that the chicken would be sliced up and placed in the sandwich. Because of that, the pieces just kept falling out and the whole thing became a mess to eat. The chicken itself was a bit salty and also a little dry. I ended up adding BBQ sauce just to give it some flavor. The avocado was good, but since the sandwich fell apart, I basically ended up dipping the chicken pieces into the sauce. I've been to this location a few times it's usually slow but tonight was really ridiculous. We ordered some fries and 10 tenders, we waited for the tenders for at least 35-40 minutes. The food finally came out we ate and were ready to leave. It took a while for the waiter to come to get us a check. This was my mom's first time having them and she loved her crispy meatless chicken bowl with white rice! My dad had the same, except with quinoa. And secondly, I thought you couldn't go bad with Mad for Chicken (based on my experience at the other Queens locations). However, this location proved me wrong... in a negative way. When my friend and I first sat down, I noticed the late night happy hour menu, which we were right in the timeframe for. So, we decided to order a few options from that menu. We each decided to get a beer considering its discounted price. Since we are both novice at beer consumption, we asked our server some questions and his opinion, but noticed that he wasn't knowledgeable about any of these beers at all. I was taken aback a bit but didn't bother me much. In the end, we both decided to go with our gut choices. We also decided to share a serving of nachos & toppoki. Despite the server saying that the nachos from the late night menu is a smaller portioned size, I thought it was adequate enough considering how we didn't want to eat too much so late at night. So, I thought that it was a good portion size and tasted good. However, I was very disappointed by the toppoki. First of all, the toppoki was very sweet and not spicy at all! It was filled with onion slices. The rice cakes were the smallest ones I've ever seen when ordering this dish elsewhere. As a Korean, I know this isn't authentic at all and would not recommend. Also seeing that there weren't any Korean employees working at this Korean fried chicken chain location, I wasn't totally surprised at how mediocre it was. Lastly, what disappointed me the most... was their honesty in doing business. When we received the bill for our meal, my friend paid with her card. Immediately after we got the final receipt, I noticed that they upcharged us for the beer (not the price listed on the late night menu). So when I went to ask them about this, they gave the excuse that beers are exempt from this special pricing because "it's a concert night". I was kinda dumbfounded. Never once did they mention that when we were ordering from the late night menu in the first place (maybe wouldn't have ordered it if it wasn't cheaper). I also wondered if they might have changed it if I noticed before paying, but I personally thought that they were just lazy to refund or alter that amount since it was already paid for. The experience with the mediocre toppoki and the upcharge for "concert nights" did not leave a good first impression on either one of us. I came with a group here for lunch the other week and really enjoyed my meal. It's a nice space and the service was good. It's a chill place. Seems to be family friendly, but they also have great happy hour specials. My meal is what this review is really for, though. I ordered the Crispy Chicken Bowl and thought it was fantastic. I can't speak about the service because this was a delivery order, but I've passed by and it looked like it'd be a great drinking spot for a fun time with friends! This was my first time trying Mad for Chicken, and I was disappointed by the Signature Wings. The bones were broken, which wasn't a big deal but I had never seen that before in wings. I like a lot of meat in my wings, but these weren't those type of wings. The Spicy Soy Garlic sauce on them were good though. The Spicy Soy Garlic Mad Tenders were tender and flavorful without drowning in sauce. It wasn't particularly juicy, but I did like the tenders anyway. The spice level in the soy garlic sauce was perfect. Even though I like both kimchi and fries, I've decided I'm not a big fan of them together in the Kimchi Fries. The fries have the perfect amount of potato and was crisp with the perfect fried texture on the outside. I've heard about Mad for Chicken for years now but have never gotten the chance to stop in until recently. I came in with a friend on a Monday at around 6 pm. Surprisingly, around this time there were a decent amount of people, both at the bar and seated at tables. We weren't very hungry but wanted a pick-me-up after work, so we opted for the Happy Hour menu, which had such great prices! Between the two of us, we got the Parmesan Fries, Lychee Soju Cocktail, and Sangria, all of which were $5 each. We were anticipating getting another appetizer in addition to the fries, but we were surprised by the amount that came with the order and how filling they were, even between two people. The Lychee Soju and Sangria were delicious too! Both were fruity and sweet but weren't too strong. Can't speak too much about the food since all we had were the fries, but I'd come back again for the drinks! I'll have to explore the food selection at another time when I'm hungrier. read more

Underneath the soggy chicken pieces, lay cold rice, a few pieces of glass noodles, guacamole and pica de gallo drenched in an overpowering bbq sauce..It was extremely underwhelming on so many levels..the BBQ sauce doesn't even mesh with the other items, it was sooo distasteful! Went here for late lunch with my kids and luckily noticed the lunch menu. The rice bowls are $15 which is the same price as the regular menu - the only difference is that the lunch menu comes with free drinks. Drinks are limited to sodas, lemonade and teas. Ordered 2 bulgogi bowl only to be told it is NOT in their "system" and is not included in the lunch special. I don't know what "system" that is but if you have it in the menu (see photo) but are not offering it then it's blatant FALSE ADVERTISING. I went here for a date night with my boo and wanted to treat him to his favorite spot.. I went once years ago at a diff location and didn't like it but this time, it changed my mind. We ordered a lychee martini and mango margarita. They were out of towers which cost 50 bucks (I recommend it because drinks are about 12-14 each, and if you get two each, might as well get the drink tower). The drinks were really strong and flavorful. We also got the soju drink sampler which was delicious , the lychee one was my favorite. For food, we got the dumplings(according to him, they were tasty, I don't eat pork) for starters and the Parmesan truffle fries. The fries were the star of the show. Lots of truffle and parm!! I find places will skimp on one or the other but this was balanced. For our meal, we got the 10 piece spicy soy chicken wings and the avocado salad. The chicken was lukewarm when it was brought out which I didn't like. However, it was tasty. The chicken was honestly spicy and I was surprised. I love spicy and many places will say spicy and it isn't.. so this was just right. The avocado salad was amazing, it was full of Parmesan , avocado and baby tomatoes over a bed of greens with a olive oil sesame dressing.
