If I could I would leave not one star. After reading the reviews that was given I wish I had read them first. I took my vehicle in because I was having problems with the dashboard the first time they couldn't find a problem the second time I left my vehicle but before that I had a service done it was okay but they went through my vehicle and left it worst then it was before I took it in, my second visit for the dashboard was worst they had my vehicle for all most a month I was given a loaner which is why they received 1 star. When I picked my vehicle up there was a power outage so I didn't inspect my vehicle I drive a 2025 Tucson Hybird very nice vehicle. The service was horrible when I received my vehicle again it was worse then the first time scratches left everywhere items missing money gone. The worst part they broke my door board removed everything from my console took my money out and never said a word. I didn't take my vehicle back because I knew they would just lie about it. The technician left dirt all over the dashboard area. They took a beautiful light gray and green interior messed it up and I will never give them the opportunity to do any more damage to my vehicle. And yes I did the survey and I want the world to know how I feel and to think twice before taking your vehicle for service at this location. Car died out due to electrical issues. Got my car towed to the dealership and they did a diagnostics test to see what was the issue. I also brought to their attention that my AC started blowing hot air and if they can take a look and fix that as well. They kept my car for four days and fixed the electrical issues. Went to turn the AC on the next day due to it being 95 degrees and they didn't even bother to take a look at it. The AC was still blowing out hot air! Had to take it upon myself to get it fixed elsewhere because I was not going to leave my car there for another four days. read more

If 0 star was a rating they would get that! They replaced my engine and missed a vital sealing of a hose and over the course of a month or so trouble arose. I complained of a smell a few times and eventually took the car to my dealership closer to home and thankfully they figured out the issue. Castle was unapologetic and attempted to blame me as a customer and alluded to the distrust of a fellow dealership after being explained, sent photos and etc. They suck, their workmanship (in not correcting or paying for the error) and customer service not to mention their crappy cars - engine blowing with less than 70K miles is ridiculous! read more

I recently switched my service from the dealership that I purchased my 2023 Santa Fe Calligraphy from to Happy Hyundai due to an issue where I had to get corporate Hyundai involved at the purchase dealership. I had a regular oil change and tire rotation completed at Happy Hyundai. There were absolutely no problems with the service. The service person asked me about a few optional services which I declined and there was no pressure. They also washed, dried and vacuumed my card. It was spotless when I got it back. The only complaint would be that it took about 45 minutes longer than the estimated completion. But for the great service and wash I can live with the extra time. read more

They are ok but the service can be very slow. My last item needed was a warranty part and I had to pay for a week's worth of car rental because all of their loaner cars were in the shop. I laughed and said you have a hundred used cars in the lot, pull one out! I have been using them for years but it is hot or miss. Between service and car issues and crime making me scared to drive my car half the time... It would be a hard sell for me to get my fourth Hyundai. . The prices were jacked up after Covid when I was hot to upgrade. Now, I am thinking about hybrids and Buicks or Lexus. The prices have come down but I am waiting another year. I recommend that women take a guy with them. I recommend that you purchase end of month quarter or year when the salesmen are more willing to strike deals and that you use truecar service and get quote before coming in. I also recommend you have a preapproval in hand so if they high ball you with financing costs you can negotiate costs or go elsewhere. Drive the car you like and a few others. Drive at daytime but if you can do it in the dark as well. Make sure you are shown everything in the car. Do not pay for extra anything... you can scotchguard seats yourself and the alleged clear coat... not sure it's anything more than clear nail polish. Not needed especially if you have a garage and keep your car clean. Dealerships often add extras to the car so they can charge you more... you can ask for that model without it and you can go elsewhere. read more

Vince Kempczynski in the service department is absolutely top notch when it comes to customer satisfaction. The vehicle I have owned for 2.5 years with 64,500 miles broke down beyond repair, I needed a new engine and it was not warrantied. I called Castle Hyundai and Vince took care of the entire situation for me. He kept in touch with me through the whole process and even provided me with a loaner car. He ended up saving me a ton of money and I truly, truly couldn't be more thankful and appreciative. Vince Kempczynski is simply the best when it comes to customer service!!! Stay away from this dealership. I purchased a brand new 2024 Hyundai Sonata on April 20 2024 from Happy Hyundai in Oaklawn and let's just say it was the worst mistake my life. I let the extra added fees on my purchase contract for things I was unaware and didn't ask for slide and the extra markup for the vehicle itself causing me to overpay completely for the vehicle. Plus I didn't get the trade in price for my old vehicle my salesman told me but what really took the cake is I took my car in for a software update for a recall and my first oil change on September 13 2024 and Happy Hyundai at 9121 S Cicero damaged my front bumper. How do you go in for routine service and the dealership damages your car during the visit. I've been on this earth 44 years and never have I had such a tragic experience in my life. The service department sucks and tried to downplay the whole experience. Tried to send me home with an apology in the vehicle they damaged until they were able to fix. They also tried to give cause for the damage saying the employee had eye surgery recently which is how he damaged my vehicle. The service manage Nick Youngblood needs to be fired for his lack of compassion,communication,and just for not being any good at whatever his real title is. The only reason I'm not giving 1 star is because of Nick Youngblood. He is STELLAR and so helpful. You can tell he actually cares about the PERSON and not just the profit. On to my experience. I went in to get my car updated. I noticed shortly after I left that my rear view camera was no longer working. Weird. I call them and schedule an appointment to have it looked at. I was told that one of the wires had some corrosion and that it'd be a large chunk of money to get it fixed. I'm BAFFLED because my camera was working fine before I arrived. The man serving me that day (guy with the gauges in his ears) couldn't care less. He made no attempt to explain the charges or try and give some sort of discount as, like I said before, my camera was perfectly fine! Fast forward a couple of days I submit the survey and get a call from Len (HUGE eyeroll). The gist of the convo was "these things happen" "your car is old so what can you do." No attempts to be helpful, no explanation offered. Nothing. He told me he would call with a follow up to bring my car back in and I heard nothing until I had to call back a week later. I also told Daniela Garcia about my experience. Again, crickets. Currently I have submitted a complaint with the BBB. We'll see what happens. read more

They showed no integrity when they made a service mistake. They missed a defect with my tires that was well known on Ioniq 5 forums and I asked about, denied that there was a warranty on the tires, and suggested I needed to replace the tires on my own dime after a misdiagnosis. They charged me hundreds of dollars of unnecessary work that didn't fix the problem. They also cost us hours of time, and a slow and dangerous drive home. They refused to refund any of the charges after I explained the situation in detail and gave them an opportunity to make it right, even after being contacted by Hyundai Corporate. Discount Tire diagnosed the issue in a few minutes, fixed the problem (by removing the failed foam from the tires and re-balancing), and even so, successfully requested replacement tires under warranty. Discount Tire did all this for a total of $90, what Happy Hyundai charged for their diagnosis. Discount Tire felt so badly about how Happy Hyundai treated us that they even offered to install the new tires free of charge! read more

I get purchasing the new parts but to charge over $500 in labor when they are getting paid to replace then engine under warranty and these parts have to be removed and reinstalled on the engine. BAIT AND SWITCH!! They advertise affordable cars that fit your budget, but they add fees for useless services like Nitrogen Tires, Tire/Wheel Prep. The cost for the "Happy" package is not even on the brochure, nor did they say how much it cost. I just assumed it was free since, I get a lot of those services for free at Family Hyundai. The Nitro, and wheel/tire fee were not discussed at all and only showed up as two line items on the loan, with no description of what is included in those services. I have done business with other dealerships and they have always discussed everything I was buying and I still had the option to get a full refund for any services, within 7 days, if I did change my mind, after that it was refunded on a prorated amount. I didnt even finish signing the docs on the tablet, because I had questions about why my car loan was going to be 32k instead of the projected 25k, and I was waiting for the sales manager to get off the phone to discuss it with him, but when he got off the phone, he just took the tablet and finished signing it without discussing it with me. We were mostly talking about why I didn't qualify for gaap insurance when he did get off the phone. These people are just in it for the commissions they get from the sale, which is the incentive they have of adding all those hidden fees, which can add up to 5k. I know i learned a valuable and expensive lesson and i will never do business with these dishonest snakes ever again. read more

My experience here today was very disappointing. Everything went fine up until we got the breakdown of the total cost. $5.6k extra from just the "happy package" alone. I wasn't interested in this but they told me this was not something they can remove and is part of buying the car. This is not advertised at this dealership like it's an "optional" thing and more advertised as if these are complimentary services you receive for being a customer at Happy Hyundai. It's unfortunate that this happened because I was sold on the new car I was looking for. I got to drive it and actually feel it and the salesperson I spoke to was very friendly. I loved the car but it's such a shame the dealership ruined this for me and instead I walked away empty handed. Don't let them run your credit until they give you a breakdown of the total cost because you're getting charged for a lot of unnecessary things that are apparently mandatory. I came to buy a car, not all these other add-ons. This is such an awful bait and switch. I'm wondering if maybe they were thinking I was desperate enough to pay the extra $5k because of how difficult its been to find the new 2023 Elantra I wanted in the color and trim I was looking for. It's such a shame because I spent so many weeks looking for the car and now that I finally found it I can't get it unless I'm willing to fork over thousands of more dollars over these packages I'm not interested in. Advertisements for Happy Hyundai says they want you to be happy. Employees have said they want our loyalty. To earn my loyalty or happiness you must first have integrity and honesty. Those are definitely 2 qualities you will not find there. Despite being a returning customer, there were no special benefits or considerations offered. If they just were transparent to customers about markup this would help their reputation. Long story: Now, to elaborate: The process began with a phone call I made concerning my previous vehicle, which I had recently sold. During this call, I inquired about the 2023 Elantra N and specifically asked about any potential markups. The person I spoke with assured me that their dealership does not engage in markups. Based on this information, I proceeded with the understanding that I would be paying the sticker price, along with taxes, a documentation fee, and optional warranty coverage, if desired. Upon arriving at the dealership to inspect the vehicle, I had a pleasant interaction with Orlanda, who assisted me. He too, informed me that there were no markups involved. While we worked on the numbers to reach a agreeable price for the Elantra N, he eventually sought the input of the sales manager, Emanuel. It was at this point that I was told by sales manager there would be no room for negotiation on the price due to the rarity of the car, and that a markup was indeed applied (About five thousand dollars over msrp). When Emmanuel admitted markup (he literally said it), this revelation was disingenuous considering the dealership's claim of not engaging in markups. I expressed my concern regarding this lack of transparency, and I believe it is essential for the General Manager and owners to address this matter and provide customers with upfront and honest information to avoid wasting anyone's time. I urge Happy Hyundai in Oak Lawn to adopt a more transparent approach with their customers. Engaging in undisclosed markups tarnishes the reputation of the Hyundai brand. For a better experience, I would recommend considering alternative Hyundai dealerships outside the "Happy" network. What a bad experience in this place, they are selling cars with out inspection, and bad condition I was that close to buying a car, but fortunately I took it for I private inspection I did spend money out my own pocket but at the and was worth it.
