Castle Island Brewing is an awesome place to enjoy some beers and delicious bar pizza! This place has a great atmosphere and super friendly waitstaff. We were presently surprised when there was live music on Friday night! We got a sausage pizza, pepperoni pizza, the Off Broadway salad and pretzel bites! Everything was delicious. DO NOT GO HERE! I booked a private event here for my birthday party and they just emailed me saying it's cancelled because the brewery got a full buyout instead. We are less than 30 days out from my event now and I'm scrambling to find a new place to host my party. They lost a long-time customer and I will never be going back. Horrible customer service to treat someone like this, especially after signing a proposal and giving a deposit months ago to secure the space. read more

I really enjoyed this brewery! I hadn't heard of it until my partner and I got invited by some friends. Really great use of space and there's an outdoor area in which when it's nice out, they lift the garage window door things they have (haha) staff was friendly and I loved how they give you the free water and water SELZTER?! This is such a convenient spot to go to in the southie when Broadway is a little too far and you just want to hang out somewhere after work or for trivia on Tuesdays. The beers are honestly not my favorite but they usually have a couple sours to try and the pizza (inside the brewery but separately called Bardo's) is SO GOOD. Make sure to ask what their special pizza is that day. I can't describe the way the pizza is but it's almost like a thinner version of a pan pizza? Either way it's so good. Fun and convenient spot and it's really the only brewery in that area of southie. read more

We had a very enjoyable experience here on a recent very busy Saturday night. We had a reservation and were seated immediately. The beer was excellent- I had the Keeper and a White Ale. My wife enjoyed their in-house seltzer. Let me emphatically tell you the staff could not have been any nicer or more helpful. We had a nice conversation with the manager who made us feel very welcome. The best though, was our experience with their pizza. We had never had bar style pizza before and it was excellent, cooked to perfection. The person who brought our food noticed one of our pizzas was missing a couple of slices of pepperoni. He apologized (without us saying a word) saying that was not up to their standard of quality and insisted on comping us a whole additional pizza. That kind of customer service blew us away! We bought a few 4 packs on the way out, the beer was that good. Great job all around, we highly recommend paying them a visit! read more

Came here with some family (and a very newborn baby) recently for an early dinner. All the staff were so friendly and accommodating and made our experience so much more enjoyable. It's a great casual spot in the neighborhood for meeting friends. Good satisfying pizza (unique and different from almost anywhere else I've been); it's a little more doughy and greasy than I expected but honestly goes perfectly with the beers. This place is really amazing. I can't tell you how many times they've come out to check on us outside. I'm traveling with our dog and they could not have been more accommodating outside. It just seems like a really great group of people that work here. The bear is also top notch. I've enjoyed a few IPAs and planning to take some back to the hotel with me. Happy to be the first one to review the new brewery location in South Boston. Overall set-up of the brewery was great and appealing to the eye. That was the first thing that I noticed. The tables available for reservations are away from the cluster of standing tables where walk-ins can go to. This feels unique in Southie where you can sit down and not have people walking/standing around your table. The standing tables were good along with the outdoor seating. The one thing I would say about the configuration is they need to maybe improve how to go about ordering a drink if you're not at a table or seated at the bar. It was a little messy but it was also busy for their first weekend, so no fault to them. I am no beer-expert so I will just say that I enjoyed all the different beers I tried. They have a great selection for someone who doesn't know what type of beer he prefers. Service at the bar and at the outdoor patio tables was great. The pizza they offer was unbelievable if you like the "south shore" type pizza. I'm lactose intolerant but once I saw someone get a pizza I had to order one and deal with whatever consequences came after. Looking forward to going back soon. read more

drinks were great but the waitress I had was a skinny brunette girl with a nose ring and absolutely do not recommend sitting in her section. She was VERY rude to me and my table. She continuously gave us an attitude and tried to get us to leave which she made very clear. when she would bring over our drinks and check she dropped them off and didn't acknowledge us. she essentially threw the bill at us and after swiping our cards she threw them down at us and walked away and didn't even say thank you.
