Now that the residents in the area have spoken up and pressured the city to keep it sustainably safe and clean it's one of the nicest parks outside of Downtown JC. In the winter there are Statue of Liberty and New York Bay views. In the warmer months there's several recreational spaces for Little League Baseball, Tennis and Basketball. The Light Rail Station is just to the North which is also convenient. Bayside Park and the surrounding neighborhood have come a long way.

Residents in the area can jog (or walk) the tree-lined paths or get their sports on on one of the many athletic fields in the park (softball baseball, basketball, soccer, bocce - yes, I said bocce). There's a fieldhouse in the middle of the park and playground for the kiddies, too. It's also one of the Olmstead parks in Newark. It's a nice park for the community.

It's actually in Union City so I'm not sure why it's called the Hackensack Reservoir. But it is. So there you have it. I wish there were more access points to actually get up to it and enjoy the view. In order to get a proper view from my car to take this picture, I had to stand on the roof of the car. How awesome is that. It deserves five stars for that alone.

The perimeter of the park is lined with all different kinds of flowers and plants, along with spring bulbs. Everyone at the park is so wholesome, it feels like a real neighborhood hideaway. It's never too busy, everyone is friendly, and all of amenities are well-maintained. If you're within a five block perimeter, you should definitely visit if you haven't already. We're so lucky to have this little hidden gem.

It's 9 holes, but you can play 18 if you want. The staff is super friendly, shoutout to Joe at the front desk for always cracking jokes and giving a warm welcome. Bev cart usually stocked during busier times, but may not be around for later times or beginning/end of season. You can also buy a Hudson county membership card, which pays for itself if you play 5(?) times, so if you live in the area it's definitely worth it! Overall this is a great course especially for being close by. Tee times do fill up quickly so best to book early.
