I have had these cottages on my list for YEARS. When we first pulled up I was a little worried. This place doesn't look the best from the outside, just being very honest. Then we parked and the check in area was locked so we started to panic but luckily someone came right away. The maps given for directions were poor but that was the end of the bad. The room was amazing! It was huge and beautifully decorated. They also had cute costumes in the room for you to use to dress up and take pictures. The room was very well cleaned and this is greatly appreciated, especially since the room was large and had a running water feature. Can't wait to come back and stay in another room.

I'm impressed with the level of detail that went into this themed cabin. It's tri-level and you enter from the second floor, where there is the Jacuzzi upon entering to your left and a swing under a tree to your right. Downstairs you pass a little drawbridge with a "moat" (with water!) to a dining area with long table where the kitchenette area is, replete with ice machine, Brita pitcher, sink, mini fridge, microwave, keurig and a restroom. Upstairs is the bedroom, with a gargoyle overlooking and statue of king and queen. Some of the lights and sconces are broken or missing, the knight no longer works. We were tripping out hard when I flipped the switches by the swing and the blue lights and moat began spewing water down fountain by the kitchen. This was amazing. I was literally jumping up and down when we entered the place. I am so impressed by how cool this place is, even with the things over time that have fallen into disrepair the detail overall is nothing short of impressive. Not sure how anyone can complain about something like this. The shower head has a rainfall head, the stones in the shower, to the shape of the mirror, it was all intentional. I saw nothing "icky" in selecting the specific stone-like accoutrements to complement the theme. There's a tv in the bedroom but why would you even wanna watch tv in a castle garden? COME ON! Loved the vaulted ceilings, stained glass windows, flickering lights, ambiance - we put on Celtic music and enjoyed the peace away from the city. This isnt even our first day here I just couldn't wait to update my review. I happened to get his and her house slippers as one of the anniversary gifts for my bf and it worked out perfectly to grace our castle floors. Highly recommended!

I can't emphasize enough how cool this place is. The rooms are literally like staying inside a fantasy ride at Disneyland. The craftsmanship that went into the rooms is extraordinary and impressive! We stayed in the castle suite and the treehouse. What a magical experience. This is a must do experience for anyone that loves unique immersive spaces. The picture online and on their website do no justice at all!

We stayed in the treehouse unit. It was very sweet, displayed the theme well. Older but added to the charm, the costumes were unexpected and a plus, the mattress was great, staff v hospitable. We plan to go back to another theme. Hopefully, snow next time.

What a fantastic hidden gem. The cottages are spectacular, the manager is amazing, and the amenities are perfect. There's a kureig in the room with a selection of coffee and teas, ice makers, filtered water c a mini fridge, and super comfortable beds. The tub is spectacular. There's a fabulous coffee shop across the street and the village is three blocks away. There is a fantastic courtyard and cats to cuddle if you're inclined. A wonderful vacation spot.

Truly one of the best experiences we've ever had. I love a good theme hotel and when I saw this come up on IG I immediately saved it. When we realized we'd be in the area for a wedding we decided to book a few nights for our anniversary. You truly feel transported to a different time. Love that they include some costumes where you can really immerse yourself into the experience. It's comfortable and they supply a lot of the things that you might need. It's close to the shopping center and food which makes it convenient for when you decide to leave the room. 10/10 would recommend.

We chose a room with a kitchenette, and even for our short stay, it was a great convenience. Service is a little hit or miss. When we arrived our room was a bit stuffy so we tried to use the thermostat, which kept indicating a low battery. We called the front desk and the man who answered hesitantly said they'd tell maintenence. On our way out for dinner, we stopped by the front desk to remind them of our request and it was the same person who answered the phone. He was surprised and scrambled to find a sticky note to write it down. After all of that, we come back to the room to a note that it's been "fixed." The A/C and heat are controlled on the unit by the window itself, not the thermostat. So why not say that the two times we asked about it? The entrance and exit are towards the road behind the main street through down, which has restaurants, a 7-11, and other places you can easily walk to -- if they had an exit facing the main road. We had to walk around the building, climb over the railing and then make our way to the sidewalk.

However, I was disappointed that the bathroom in Room 363 already had some maintenance issues. The toilet was loose and wobbled every time we used it, and the shower handle was also loose and moved around when adjusting the water temperature. For a newer property, I expected these basic fixtures to be in better condition. The complimentary breakfast was a simple American-style breakfast with a few hot items, which was convenient but nothing particularly special. Overall, the hotel has great potential because it's clean and well maintained in general, but the maintenance issues in our room definitely affected our experience. Hopefully, management will address these problems soon, as this could easily be a 4 star stay with better attention to detail.

They made us feel right at home, which was a great way to start our stay. We booked a room with two queen beds, a fireplace, and a balcony. The lobby is nice, and the hotel has a spacious breakfast area along with an on-site restaurant. Our room was on the first floor, though, and the balcony overlooked someone's backyard, so we didn't really get to enjoy sitting outside. That was probably the biggest disappointment. The room itself was comfortable enough. The beds were decent, and it looked like some of the decor had been updated. The bathroom, however, could definitely use some work. There were patched areas on the walls, cracked baseboards, and it felt a little worn. The hallways could also use a refresh. The game room was a nice surprise. It had a pool table, ping pong, foosball, a few board games, and vending machines. There's also a small outdoor pool and jacuzzi, which looked like a nice place to relax. Breakfast was included and had a good variety of options, which we appreciated, especially on a busy holiday weekend. Overall, while parts of the hotel felt a little dated and even a bit creepy in places because of the older chateau style, we still enjoyed our stay. For the price we paid during one of the busiest weekends of the year, it was a good value. A few updates would make a big difference, but the excellent customer service and included breakfast definitely left a positive impression.

It's certainly strange- you take an elevator up, stairs down, more stairs down, some up, and you finally find your second floor room. It similar to the Winchester House in San Jose. But, we found that kinda quirky and filed that in the positive. The staff was friendly. The room was clean, sizeable, and everything was in working order. We didn't eat breakfast, although it is provided, but we did have dinner at Tiffany's. Dinner was great, with live entertainment. The hot tub is small, five person max, but the pool was nice, with several chairs around to relax. There is an outdoor bocci ball court. Inside is a game room with a pool table, foosball, air hockey, ping pong, checkers, and connect four. All free. Parking is free. Overall, nice place. There is plenty of lodging in Big Bear, but if you get an opportunity, I would try this place.
