Stayed here for a long weekend. Check-in was at 3 PM, our room wasn't ready yet though. The queen at the front desk gave us free drink tickets while we waited. Sit outside with amazing Mountain View and drink free wine? Absolutely! Our hotel fridge broke at one point, I texted the Front Desk and they replaced it within 10 minutes. The customer service is outstanding! The hotel itself is clean, beautiful views with great amenities. Walkable to any place in town. Great location! The staff are very nice but the pool is dingy and the rooms feel like a motel 6. If you pay the exorbitant fee for a cabin, expect to be across an extremely busy street from the actual hotel with no crosswalk, unless you wanna walk two blocks to the nearest light. Our cabin and our friends cabin we're both up against the cabin housekeeping must do laundry and the front porch had bags of garbage stacked on the front porch up into the ceiling so we felt like we were living in a garbage dump. There were no towels by the pool despite requesting twice. This didn't just happen one day this happened all three days that we were there. The cushions on the pool seats were disgusting and they felt too dirty to sit on. Housekeeping was sparse and as of this writing at 4:30, I had to request, they still make up the room. Tonight they're hosting a holiday event and as hotel guests, we will not have access to the restaurant or facilities unless we pay an additional $280. This is an overpriced motel six with very kind staff. read more

We arrived at Hotel Marina in Big Bear and were immediately met with an extremely inappropriate and crude anti-LGBTQ remark/joke from a member of the front desk staff that we did not find funny or amusing whatsoever. Even if it was intended to be a joke, it was extremely inappropriate and derogatory. When we finally entered the assigned room, a cockroach was running across the floor and disappeared into the wall within seconds of us opening the door. We immediately called the front desk to report this and requested another room, but were told none were available because they were sold out. So, we attempted to give the room one last chance, but within minutes of us starting to put our stuff away, my husband opened the mini refrigerator, and two additional cockroaches ran out from behind it. At that point, we determined the room did not meet basic standards of cleanliness, sanitation, or habitability and decided to immediately leave the property. We turned our keys in and did not end up staying the night. What was most disappointing was not only the condition of the room, but also the lack of any sort of response or acknowledgment from the hotel afterward. I finally managed to speak with Bridget at the front desk about two weeks after trying to get ahold of them, and she was incredibly rude, insensitive, and was flat-out disrespectful to me over the phone. This is the exact kind of service you're going to expect if you stay here. I would not stay here ever again, nor would I recommend it to anyone. read more

Updated and upgraded! Hotel Marina is in a great location and a short 5 min walk to Big Bear Village. There are ample parking spaces for both the hotel and restaurant inside. The restaurant is very cute with snow globes outside that you can sit and eat. There are little heaters in there so its comfortable. I recommend reservations for the snow globes. The hotel rooms give a dark modern hipster vibe. It's very chic and the beds are comfortable the hotel provides Aesop shower products. We stayed in the double beds and we're located on the lower level, which was right in front of big Bear Lake. You can enjoy the view of the lake with the two chairs located outside your hotel door. My only complaint is the walls are very thin so you can hear people next-door and people above you walking. read more

We spent Valentine's weekend in Big Bear Lake at the newly renovated #hotelmarinariviera, a beautiful lakefront property that's easily the most modern hotel close to The Village on the lake. That being said, here is my fully transparent review as someone who spent their own money on their stay. Location: Within walking distance from The Village. Close to all of the restaurants and quaint little shops. Very central. Hotel Room: It's clear to tell the rooms have what most would call a "landlord special". For the price point, you'd expect there NOT to be scuffs on the walls, chipped paint, broken shower faucets, and the wall outlets to stay in the wall. You'd also maybe expect complimentary slippers, and coffee and/or tea in the room. Amenities: The indoor sauna was out of service during our stay, with one of the fire pits also being out of service. The outdoor sauna was operating, but only fits two people at a time and is very popular. The pool, while advertised as heated, was closed during our stay. De La Nonna Restaurant: Limited foccacia based menu. In my personal opinion, the price point is far too high at $20+ for foccacia topped with sauce and cheese, which were also both lacking. All items are served with paper plates and plastic utensils. If you're expecting a five star stay, lower your standards, but out of all of the options on the lake -- if you're going to opt for a hotel, I'd still stay here if I found a 20% off deal. read more

I was shocked by the condition of this hotel, especially for a 4-star property charging $249 per night. Our TV was broken, with lines across the screen and it would randomly go black while the audio kept playing. One of the showerheads was damaged and sprayed water out the side. I also got stuck in the bathroom because the sliding barn door jammed and wouldn't open. There was also a brief power outage, which I understand was out of the hotel's control. Since we were only there for one night, I didn't complain and just dealt with it. But for a 4-star hotel at this price, these are basic maintenance issues that should have been fixed. The hotel was absolutely gorgeous and couldn't have been in a better location. Plenty of parking and easy to get all our stuff and 2 dogs to our hotel room. Perfect dog friendly hotel with plenty of places for them to play and explore. Hotel room was gorgeous and had everything we could need. Views were amazing (** BESIDES the 2 maintenance trucks that had to park on the beach every single day we were there. Can't miss them in every single photo uploaded. But clearly they do good work with how nice this hotel was. Just annoying to wake up to) Two HUGE fire pits with plenty of seating. Amazing lake access with plenty of area to fish. They also have a spa, pool and an outdoor sauna. Private beach that is gated for hotel guests only. Right outside of the gates of the hotel was a fun kid playground. Hotel also has a brand new gorgeous gym with anything you could need. This hotel is walking distance to the village with tons of food options. Staff were always friendly even when our dogs kept barking (sorry!). Helped with anything we needed, quickly texted back and got us literally anything we asked for. read more

Have you ever been to a place and knew within minutes you would be coming back? That is what Hotel Marina Riviera offers. I was initially going to book with a chain hotel, but went with this hotel because I know a good boutique hotel can offer a more memorable experience. The hotel has been operating for 4 months and was a complete renovation. You would think you were in a brand new hotel. Some of the hotels perks are Aesop soap, bike rentals, nice linens, electric charging stations, indoor and outdoor Sauna. All the rooms offer lakeside view with chairs. The lobby is small and not one you can hang out in aside from two small chairs by the elevator. The majority of the space is for the pizza place and bar. We stayed in a 3rd wheeler room, which offers a bunk bed. We were a party of 4 with two small kids. We were able to make it work. My 6 year old enjoyed staying up top. Though I don't recommend the bunk for toddlers. Getting up and down the stairs was hard for my 3 year old to do. The bunk rooms are on the bottom floor so you can hear foot steps upstairs, but it wasn't that bad. The hotel had quite hours and overall wasn't too noisy. You get great amenities, a heated pool and Jacuzzi. The gym was nice and had to aerobic machine and you have use of a peloton bike. Everything on property was top notch and all the spaces were beautiful. You also get free completely crafted drip coffee. They are run by the Caseta group, which also runs other properties. I loved the place that I was already looking up other locations they offer. Prices are great with only prices going up significantly during the winter months. The bar and patio are great spaces that are shared with the pizza shop. The menu is pretty limited in terms of onsite food. It would be nice to have traditional breakfast onsite. For that you have to go in town. You are within walking or driving distance from all the major shops. The bar does serve coffee in the morning. Every space offers great views of the lake. I would say this is the most popular place to book for good reason. Can't wait to come back hopefully when it snows. read more

Came here Valentine weekend 2 nights 3 days. Booked as a Hyatt member with Mr and Mrs Smith using points. Otherwise it would been hefty for a premium room. This place did well with the remodel. Everything was done properly and felt quality/sturdy. It was a nice cozy room with a nice view. Almost perfect if it weren't for the bed. Felt like we were sleeping on a deflated air mattress/waterbed. Check-in staff were very friendly. Big benefit was free EV charging for guests, it's slow but free! Drove home without worrying about charging. Village is just a short walk across the street. Check out their restaurant, it's quite good! read more

Great location right on the Lake and they have a great eatery called De La Nonna (another one in downtown LA). It opened 6/6/25 so I did my daily hike from Summit taking Town Trail to there to check it out. You can't beat the atmosphere, nice and new, right on the lake and hopefully they'll get a boat dock so you can enjoy the food when on the lake. I ordered the Whipped Eggplant with Calabrian XO sauce & grilled Focaccia $15 and it is delicious, plus they bake the Focaccia there and it's yummy! Can't wait to go back and try the individual size Pizzas and more. read more

First time in Big Bear, and staying here made my experience spectacular. Huge parking lot and conveniently located right across from the Village. Parking was free too (big plus). Booked Sat-Mon and paid about $588 through Booking.com. My room was right by the elevator & stairs to restaurant. Fire pits outside of room as well & a beautiful view of the lake. I got the Third Wheel room which had 1 Queen, 1 full and a couch. Nice and cozy, the only thing that kinda sucked was the AC but it didn't bother us. Employees at the counter were always very friendly & extremely accommodating. My favorite part was the texting system. I was able to text to ask questions and get help, and they were very quick to respond. I would not hesitate to stay here again, had a fantastic time! read more

We had a really pleasant experience staying in their deluxe cabin during Christmas 2024. The location is unbeatable, only a few minutes (like 3 mins drive) from Big Bear Old Town Village and a 5-minute walk to the lake. Plus, very close to the snow summit. The decor is so cute and super cozy! Much like a boutique hotel, it prioritizes attention to detail and tasteful design. Amazing customer service! From the moment we checked in, Rosie helped us and she was beyond amazing. She greeted us with a big smile, and every time we walked by, she made sure we had everything we needed. That level of care really stood out. The next day when I checked out, there were two ladies at the front desk who were also super sweet and helpful. Every staff member we interacted with made us feel welcomed. I also want to shout out the cleaning staff! There was a housekeeping lady who was constantly working. Every time we saw her, she was cleaning non-stop, yet still took the time to smile and say hello. You can tell the staff here really takes pride in what they do. Overall, the staff is incredibly friendly, and that made our stay even better. I will definitely be coming back! The only downside is that the walls seem a bit thin. We received a noise complaint even though we were just talking at a normal volume, and the neighbors even started banging on the wall, which was frustrating. Aside from that, it's a great place and I would still recommend it! read more

We stayed for three nights durning August 2025. We happened to overlap with the Canyon Fire which was on the other side of the mountain, about 11 miles away from the resort. Overall, our stay was AMAZING! Since the hotel is recently remodeled, I was excited about staying somewhere so new. We stayed in the premium lakeside king room, so we had a fireplace that we didn't end up using because it was August! I did turn it on for about a minute just to see how it worked, super user friendly and turns on with a remote. Overall, it was a wonderful stay and we will definitely be returning! PROS Cannot beat the location! Right on the lake provides fantastic views (from every room!!!) and walking distance from the village means you'll never run out of things to do. Cozy rooms that the designers clearly put effort and care into. They feel modern but rustic. Comfy bed and pillows. Mini fridge with plenty of space for your own drinks and snacks. TV with chrome cast, easy to watch whatever you want. The attached restaurant was delicious and cocktails were fantastic. Clean pool and hot tub. Lots of kids durning our summer stay, but it was still very relaxing. Two clean saunas. Just be aware you need to turn them on for it to get truly warm. Clean gym. Small but mighty, everything you need on vacation. Outdoor fire pits perfect for watching the sunset. We used these every night. Aesop soap and parachute linens. Friendly staff and quick service when contacted via text. CONS Front desk was hit or miss. Sometimes no one was physically there durning our stay. We also called twice on separate days to ask specific questions regarding the nearby wildfire and info not on their website. When we did speak to them in person or via text, they were very kind and helpful. NITPICKY THINGS Dirty floors in the hotel room. No worse than your typical hotel, but this is a personal pet peeve for me. Sweeping and an occasional mopping would do wonders. No desk or table in room, so not easy to eat or work from the room. Goes without saying, but expect things to be buggy! No clock in room. No ice machine for self serve, you have to ask the front desk or bartender for ice. read more

View from room was amazing! All of the service was great, from the front office to the housekeepers coming by to restock our towels. Room was nice and cozy, but a few small issues. The fireplace was electronically controlled by a remote, but it was broken. So the temperature control didn't work, and it got pretty hot on the manual control (basically just an off/on switch behind the plate). Also the TV service only had about half the channels, which made us miss some of the NFL playoff games. I did not mark them down a star for this, because the front office reimbursed us via the amenities fee refund. Definitely will stay here again! read more

The people that work here deserve a raise. They are incredibly charming, as is the hotel itself. Check in was easy, they are dog friendly as well so we brought our two dogs with us (max is 2) and there is a super delicious restaurant on site. We ate there multiple times during our stay because it was so good. They have breakfast starting at 8am and lunch/dinner served all day. The pizzas are light and fluffy focaccia, the whipped eggplant I wish was less spicy (beware), and the Caesar salad was perfect. Location is great, it's on the lake with good views and nestled in the heart of town making it easily accessible to anywhere you need to go. Husband used their cold plunge but said neither of the two saunas were working when he went. We will absolutely be booking with them again and hope the staff stays the same. read more

Really liked the location. Cute hotel but rooms are just okay.... Nothing fancy. Not really the best mattress or the biggest space for rooms (the toilet in the bathroom touches the shower and the sink, almost ZERO space between) also it's a bummer the rooms don't have some common basics, there was no table, no coffee maker, no microwave or fridge. Most hotels have at least one of those! Especially at the price point they charged here. I liked that they had little fire pits but there are only two for all the guests.... So maybe 12 could use them. read more

I was surprised to see any negative comments for this amazing hotel! It's located in the perfect spot in Big Bear (walkable to town where all the shops & restaurants are), there was plenty of free parking and the front desk staff was top notch. I found them to be extremely helpful with information and they also offer complimentary coffee & hot chocolate from a very fancy machine (not the usual hotel junk). I was very pleased with my room- was exactly like the pictures. Clean, cozy and well decorated. Bed was super comfy, curtains nice and thick to draw out light. You could slightly hear people above but I've known this to be true of most hotels and it wasn't a bother. They have a restaurant coming to the property in the near future, as well as a sauna overlooking the water. Would absolutely come back and recommend to anyone looking for the perfect big bear getaway! read more

We had an absolutely wonderful experience here! I usually don't write reviews but this stay definitely warrants one. Big Bear in general exceeded our expectations, and we are so happy we chose Hotel Marina Riviera for our stay. It is perfectly located, right next to The Village, hikes, lake access for rentals like paddle boarding and kayaking and shops & restaurants. The staff throughout the stay provided amazing service. Katie at the front desk deserves a shout out! She was so kind, energetic and patient with our questions and made us feel welcome and excited for our trip. So many others in both the hotel and De La Nonna were also wonderful. The hotel has the most amazing views out back, a cold plunge, two saunas, hot tub, hotel and fire pits. We went on a couple of weekday nights and feel we got a bargain for this one of atmosphere and stay. The rooms are so cute with lake views. The only slight kink is that the walls/doors are thin and it can be noisy hearing neighbors and hotel staff. All in all, I highly recommend! Can't wait to go back! read more

The views on the deck are beautiful and the restaurant has delicious food. But being a newer place, they have some improvements to make. The jacuzzi didn't work, the pool was cold and the televisions in the rooms didn't work. No one makes you aware of these issues while checking in. The room wasn't deep cleaned as promised- visible dog hair. The shower did not have hot water. Yes it was warm but not hot. Urial the Manager did his best to make amends. You also have to be aware that all rooms are available for dogs. None are designed for those without pets or for those with allergies. If you want no pets, you will need to look someplace else. read more

Beautiful location. Our room had a lovely view of the lake with a small balcony and my parents on the ground floor had walk out access to the beach and pool. It was the second weekend open after the remodel and there were a couple learning curve kinks (e.g. ran out of CO2 at the bar) but no biggie and staff were super nice. What wasn't there to love about this hotel? From the moment I walked in Bridget, the front desk receptionist, made me feel right at home. The room is absolutely stunning, the showers even better, and the view! It's practically on the water. The shops are a few minutes walking, it's across the street from the best poke spot in town, and has lounging and fire-pits available all day and night. I even got to rent a bike (free with booking) and ride to the alpine pedal path and other areas. The location is great but the hospitality and cleanliness is unbeatable. For the price of this place I expected more. After a long drive, no one was at reception on arrival at 7:30 PM, other guests were waiting to check in, too - there was a sign that said someone would be back momentarily but according to the other guests it had been at least 20 minutes. Waited around a bit longer then stuck my head in the bar. Another guest! asked if I was (my name) and when I said yes, he stated my key was on the front desk. Not exactly a safe/secure setup. I found out the front desk person was on their mandatory (CA law) break, but I don't understand why someone was not assigned to cover them, leaving guests to fend for themselves. Wandered around trying to find my room which was on the lower level and the restaurant manager took pity on me and helped me locate it and settle in. His kindness was the highlight of my stay here. The room, while clean, had no coffee maker (grrr) or microwave so be prepared. No table, though there is room for a little 2 top cafe table if they wanted to make their guests comfortable. The linens were nice, but the bed was very firm and I tossed and turned most of the night. The worst was the lack of soundproofing- I do believe there were horses in the room above mine - they stomped around half the night and started back at it at 6AM. If you stay here, I would request the 3rd floor or a cabin. The Aesop amenities were nice and location is good but I will not be staying here again. read more

I am so thoroughly disappointed with this place. I stayed here with my husband over labor day weekend and while the location and the hotel itself is nice, BEWARE POWER OUTAGES. The power in the entire hotel was out for 7+ hours (A COMMON OCCURRENCE in Big Bear) and they refused to offer any type of money back despite paying a resort fee for amenities that literally were not functional for a majority of my stay. They offered me 20% off my next stay. As if I would risk blowing more money on this place. I would have come back if they cared about making their guests happy. And maybe purchase a generator with how much they charge per night. read more

The property itself was enjoyable, but unfortunately, our experience with the staff left a bad impression. At checkout, we were told to leave our keys at the front desk. When we went to do so, no one was there--just a sign saying they'd be back soon. Since we needed to leave, we left the keys in our room instead. Later, the hotel tried to charge us for a late checkout, even though we had left about 30 minutes before the official time. When I called to clear things up, the front desk staff accused me of lying and insisted I was still there, even though I had already been gone for over an hour. The conversation was unprofessional, confusing, and needlessly rude. While the hotel itself was enjoyable, most of the staff we encountered were unfriendly, which put a sour note on the trip. We've stayed at Casseta Group hotels before and had great experiences, but this was by far the worst interaction we've had. read more

Came here because this particular hotel popped up on resort pass, paid for a day with my friend while our kids hit the slopes; BIG MISTAKE! This place should not advertise itself as a resort pass facility there is no where to leave your belongings, the bathroom is what they are listing as a changing room no towels and the plunge pool is a tub not sure how the cater to more then 2 folk at a time... They did have a cute restaurant with igloo sitting that was first come first serve that were empty the entire time we were there but when we asked to sit there they said they were reserved all weekend not sure how that works... overall bad experience a waste of money and sad our moms day off was such a miss read more

It almost ruined our whole weekend but we checked into a different hotel after the first night and took an L on the $1000+ we spent on this hotel and spent another $800+ for a non moldy hotel. We got immediately better after spending a night in the new hotel. I also twisted my ankle walking down their janky stairs so overall the amenities did not make up for the experience we had and the money wasted. read more
