My second stay here, and it will be my place to stay everytime I am in Big Bear! Because it is close to Snow Summit and close to most if not all the major areas of Big Bear Lake too. I love the Hotel Vibes of Hampton Inn, because it's consistently always clean and welcoming. Parking is safe and secure with staff that are always friendly especially at this location. I've been going to Big Bear for 30 plus years, and as I get older, I prefer to stay at a Great Hotel with amenities that fit my lifestyle and use. I'm always in Big Bear mostly for the Snow Summit Bike Park season every year, and occasionally some hiking or 4 wheeling.. But from now on, I plan to stay here at this Hampton Inn for many more years and visits. I stayed again here for the weekend and the Beds are so comfortable and clean. Rooms are clean with updated Smart TV's, Microwaves and Fridges! Clean Bathrooms with modern styling that makes it easy and comfortable to stay. Staff are friendly and kind! Love this hotel. This is my 3rd stay here. The staff is always courteous and accommodating. Location is perfect for me. The rooms are always clean, bed cozy. The fridge has a freezer. Not many places have a fridge with a freezer for my sherbet binges lol. The lobby is awesome. Different places for everyone. Small movie room, fireplaces, outside patio has firepits with smores, sat has a happy hour. Its just a great hotel. Give it a try. read more

We enjoyed our stay here. Super clean and the beds were fairly comfy. The patio with fire pits is a great place to hang out and they provide smores kits which is fun. Beer and wine on tap (for a price) and they have hot chocolate for the kiddos which is a nice touch. Free breakfast was fine. I think charging almost $30 a night for parking is a bit much though. Great stay! Amazing staff and amenities. We stayed at the property for a few days, which was a very convenient since we were there to ski and the hotel is about a 1/2 mile away from snow summit. The hotel has many different perks each day including: smores kit, evening snacks/movie nights. They also had a nacho bar night, lemonade, churro night- which was unexpected but a nice surprise. There is also an indoor pool and jacuzzi, perfect after a long ski day! There is an abundance of seating indoor and outdoor and it seemed like Many guests enjoyed hanging out in the lobby/seating area each evening. We stayed on the Home2 side, which was perfect for a longer stay. Lastly, there is a fancy keurig coffee machine that makes lattes, caps and even hot chocolate; it is available all day/night. We stayed at the Hampton Inn in Big Bear on a last-minute trip, and I cannot say enough good things about our experience--especially because of Joel. From the moment we arrived, Joel made us feel completely at home. He took the time to explain all of the hotel's amenities and made sure we knew about all the fun extras, including Taco Tuesday, movie night for the kids with s'mores, the fire pits, and even the unique beer tap in the lobby that guests can access with their room key. Thanks to Joel, we got to enjoy so much more than just a hotel stay. We had a bit of a rough start to our trip when one of my children got carsick on the drive up. Joel immediately stepped in with cleaning supplies and genuine kindness and concern. His compassion and willingness to help meant so much to me as a mom traveling with two kids. Since my husband was in town for work and couldn't help us the entire time, I was handling the kids on my own and wasn't very prepared for our last-minute trip. Joel went above and beyond to accommodate our needs and helped arrange a room closer to the entrance, which made a huge difference for us. The hotel itself was fantastic. Everything was spotless, the indoor pool was amazing, and the outdoor fire pits and s'mores nights created such a fun family atmosphere. My kids had an incredible time, and we enjoyed our stay so much that we decided to extend it for another night and spend another beautiful day in the mountains. Joel's exceptional customer service truly made this trip special. He is caring, attentive, and genuinely dedicated to making guests feel welcome. I'm genuinely disappointed with my stay at Hampton Big Bear, especially given the nearly $500 per night price tag. The biggest issue? The bathroom fan. It cannot be turned off, it's extremely loud, and it disrupts sleep all night long. For a hotel charging this much, basic comfort should be a given. When I brought this up with the staff, not a single person apologized for the inconvenience. I called the manager, Cynthia Perez, who was not only unhelpful but shockingly rude and passive-aggressive. Instead of addressing the issue, she sarcastically asked if we "wanted to check out" when I requested to file a complaint. She had the audacity to state "every hotel does this " and I had to actually let her know, not every hotel on planet earther has a bathroom fan that cannot be turned off. That level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable--especially at these rates. Overall, the lack of concern for guest experience is frustrating. I expect much better service at this price point. The location is nice, but unless they improve their customer service and basic room features, I won't be returning. 2/5 stars. The ability to sleep without hotel appliances interrupting or disrupting our ability to sleep is a standard expectation so we'd like to request a price modification reflecting the disruptive noises from the bathroom fan which is impacting our ability to receive the services paid for. read more

A Catastrophic Stay - Management Failure and Zero Accountability** Our room door lock failed completely--neither the key card, digital key, nor the management key could open it. We spent **three hours** going back and forth to the front desk, receiving multiple useless key cards while no effective solution was provided. Manager Cynthia repeatedly refused to show up. Staff asked us to stay in another room for the night and wait until the next day for an engineer, ignoring our immediate need to access our belongings. Only after firm insistence did the engineer arrive an hour later and **force the door open with a crowbar**, admitting the room was no longer secure. We then had to repack and change rooms late at night. The next day, when we requested reasonable compensation, the front desk stalled. When Cynthia finally called, she was unapologetic and promised to review security footage and call back **on November 24 around 1 PM**. It is now **December 1**, and we have received no response. For everything we endured, the hotel only waived a **$29 parking fee**--a completely inadequate gesture. This hotel has **unreliable facilities, poor emergency handling, and management that avoids accountability**. Pretty decent hotel. Stayed in a king room on the third floor with a beautiful view of a bunch of mobile homes. Room was clean but I would put this bed (especially the pillow) toward the bottom on the comfort scale... I woke up sore each day from it. Overall, the place is just full of problems. Pests in the room (with pictures) the heat wasn't working and temperature was 60 degrees per the thermostat and turning full heat on did nothing and despite 5 polite requests no effort was made by staff. Breakfast "buffet" has plastic utensils, paper plates, and nothing but reheated junk and sugar cereals. Almost as nice as what I'd expect in a frat house. lol. Blinds were broken, Joseph the grouch eventually responded to ask to "discuss" but there was nothing to discuss. No attempt was made to fix the heat. Modern and clean room. Went on Easter weekend and they had a free Easter hunt. The kids love it.

I'm going to start off with the positives. Employees are nice, property is clean, rooms are nice and breakfast is good. With that being said, not sure I would stay again. 1) couldn't find the place. Not enough signage!!!! 2) Could find the place and a person by the name of James answered the phone, was not very friendly, was distant and cold. Was not helpful in me finding the place. I had to all a friend to find it. Hampton did not know who Jame's was. 3) If you want to have an early check-in, 2 hours early, they charge 100.00. My room was ready, however had to pay the extra 100.00 for early check in. There were very few cars in the parking lot, and during my stay. Was told this is a corporate policy. If so, corporate needs to let the properties make their own decisions on this. 4) Invoices: They charge your credit card for incidentals, however they do not show this on your invoice. The invoice is confusing. My cc was charged a certain amount, and when I went to the counter to get a copy of the charge, they could not give it to me. Stated this was run over night, and the charge could not be put on the invoice. That's strange, bc to bal their books, there needs to be a db and cr. Also, how can they charge your credit card and not produce an invoice or document showing this. This is strange and confusing. I will have to audit my charges and credits on my credit card to make sure I was charged correctly. This should not be part of my Hampton experience. read more

We stayed at the Home 2 Suites side of the Hilton building. There's the Hampton Inn with regular hotel rooms on one side and the other side is called Home 2 Suites, which has a larger room with a pull out bed couch and a small kitchen area, our room slept up to 6 people with 2 Queens (I'm pretty sure the beds are Full size and not Queen size). The small kitchen on the Home 2 Suites side has a dorm room size fridge (a little bigger than a mini fridge, with a separate freezer). We had 3 adults and 2 kids and we slept decently on the beds, the beds aren't super comfortable but are good enough for a few day vacation and the pull out couch bed is fine for kids but I don't recommend for adults. The service was good, everyone was helpful and polite. They have a small pool that can fit up to about 20 people which would be kinda crammed and a spa that can fit 6-8 adults comfortably. The bathroom in the pool area/room wasn't in service which was odd but the hotel has only been open 1 month so Im sure they're working a few kinks out. The reason we chose the hotel was because it was brand new, I have a health condition where any water damage/mildew/mold of any kind makes me really sick which makes traveling very difficult when we can't find an affordable new hotel. I did not have any health issues or flare ups here. Great little stay for us. Hopefully with meticulous cleaning standards this will be a hotel we can enjoy for a handful of years before any water damage issues build up. Check in staff was friendly and informative. We stayed in a king room on the second floor. I do not recommend staying on the south side of building you can hear traffic all night. Sounded as if the window was open; walls and windows not high quality insulated for noise reduction. There seemed to be a cabinet not finished over the refrigerator and microwave area. The bathroom fan did not work. At 12:30-1am we could hear guest room doors closing or some kind of loud noises up to 5 times in a row. We called the front desk to check it out. 3 stars for the level of noise and not a restful sleep. Aesthetics of the building are nice and offered s'mores for the kids and movie night. The worst stay ever. Firstly it wasn't pinned properly on google maps. The entrance is behind the building and we had to make multiple turns and navigate to figure out the parking and entrance. The reception was so nonchalant about it when we told them. The room was claustrophobic full of furniture in every corner which is not needed. The skateboard type decor felt next to our bed. The bathroom exhaust would not shut off and was running all night. The floors have been made so poorly we were disturbed by people upstairs with thud sounds and vibrations all night. The next day there was a lot of snow. They did not clear out the snow and kept saying the private shoving truck will get there at 1. If you know checkout time is 11 and it has snowed all night... how do you expect people to leave without clearing the driveway. Please consider some other places in big bear. read more

Very disappointed in this hotel. Horrible customer service, and unprofessional staff. We stayed here with our young child and had a major issue with our hotel room - the previous guests had clearly been smoking cigarettes in the room, and the hotel was not responsive or kind to deal with when we had an issue with our room. Also, this hotel was charging people for parking when the website clearly stated complimentary parking as a perk (we took a screenshot of the website's parking policy and showed it to the staff). If the hotel decided to change their policy about parking, then they should have updated the website accordingly and honored what their advertising and booking confirmations stated. We have stayed in Hampton Inns previously and enjoyed kind staff and comfortable beds, and this hotel was not at all like the other Hampton Inns we have experienced. read more

Everything about our stay here in Big bear was a blast because of Hampton Inn. We stayed for 3 nights and 4 days. I'm the type who doesn't like staying in cabins so this place was very nice for us. The facility is clean and modern. They give coffee for 24 hours, including tea, hot chocolate, and water. A breakfast buffet was a great feature for a location like this. They have s'mores and candies for kids. The pool was small but it was okay. Wish it was heated so we can really enjoy it. The jacuzzi was also a nice feature. The gym was small but had the equipment we need. The backyard had fire pits so the family and I enjoyed making s'mores. The concierge were very accommodating. Shoutout to Aldo! 2 stars versus 1 for newness and location. Do not recommend, dramatically different Hilton brand (owns Hampton) experience than we are used to. This property is brand new, and they are just not ready for guests The positives: Brand new. Good breakfast. Multiple very aesthetic fireplace/firepit fixtures in lobby and outdoor patio. The negatives: 1) Booked via the app. Only indication that the water would be shut off for the entire next day was the notification of that at check-in 2) None of the fire pits (mentioned above as a positive) were lit 3) Three separate occasions when visiting the front desk for something, no one there. Sign saying "someone will be with you shortly." This could be a staffing issue, same person working at night was there in the morning. 4) $20/day to park. Understand Parking may be at a premium due to its proximity to the base of the ski slope, but it is a gate control lot and this is not New York City or Chicago, I've never had to pay for parking at a Hilton property outside of a major metropolitan area. Likewise, this is off season and there were about 6 cars in this huge lot. Not like parking space is at such a premium that they should be charging for it. 5) Checked into the room, the light at the desk did not have a bulb in it. Went to the front desk to ask for one or for Maintenance to come by and they said it would have to be done in the morning. That's not particularly helpful when I'm trying to do something at the desk at night that I need light for 6) Rooms very cramped, too much furniture etc for the size of the room. 7) No evening social/happy hour. They are set up for it, they just said that they're not doing it. 8) Just barely enough liquid soap in the shower dispenser to take a shower, and no bar soap at the sink. 9) Asked for late checkout (by 2 hours) as a diamond and was told it would be $40. Thought she had misunderstood and said again that we were diamond and that's typically complementary when there is room (and there was obviously room because the parking lot was completely empty and at breakfast there were about five people in the dining room), she said it was $50, and that is and always has been Hilton policy. I indicated that was not accurate because we stay at Hiltons many multiple times per year around the world and it's always been a perk of the diamond membership (upgrades when able, early check in / late check out when able), which is the point at which she said "well I have the policy in writing in the office - would you like to see it?" Too snarky for my taste. I find it hard to believe that we have been getting late checkouts at hundreds of Hilton properties just because I thought we were good folks and this is the one property that actually knows the rules. 10) Entrance to the hotel is actually not on the main road and there are no signs to it so it's kind of an experiment in navigation to figure out how to get back behind the place to get access to the parking lot. Maybe they will find their stride and this will be a fantastic property and a great location, but our experience was far below what we are used to as frequent Hilton guests read more
