Very clean, very new. Has EV chargers. And most importantly- free s'mores kits at night!

Outstanding place. Price was fair, only real complaint is having to pay for parking was uncalled for. I believe 29.99 plus cost of hotel is crazy. other than that very nice establishment. Would recommend and come back. Free breakfast in the morning also a perk. And they are pet friendly. They have EV charging stations by charge point. Did not use charging stations having a Tesla few miles away is a supercharger. Thank you guys for your friendliness and hospitality. You made our Big Bear experience much better.

Pretty decent hotel. Stayed in a king room on the third floor with a beautiful view of a bunch of mobile homes. Room was clean but I would put this bed (especially the pillow) toward the bottom on the comfort scale... I woke up sore each day from it. Breakfast was a great selection compared to others I've been at. The hotel was clean and looked updated. Paying $20 per day for parking off season is weird; the lot was completely empty. Close proximity to a 7Eleven for supplies.

From the moment we walked into Sierra Blue Hotel & Swim Club, we knew we picked the right place. The aesthetic is incredible -- vintage charm from the original Thundercloud Lodge blended perfectly with modern, rustic chic design. Thoughtful artwork, cozy textures, and designer-inspired rooms make it feel stylish yet warm. It's a full-service hotel right in the heart of the Village -- one short block to the lake, shops, and restaurants (and right across from the bowling alley). Easy parking and EV charging available, which is a huge bonus. Janet, Maddie, and Louie greeted us and were absolutely amazing. Genuine, welcoming, and thoughtful. They even gifted us complimentary mugs and were so kind to our son, giving him a patch for his jacket or hat. That kind of hospitality stands out. And the freshly baked s'mores cookies? Unreal. Warm, gooey, perfectly toasted marshmallow and melted chocolate. Honestly better than DoubleTree cookies -- and yes, even better than the famous Disney park cookies. They're that good. Spotless room, beautiful Village views, pet-friendly, incredible service, and an unbeatable location. Five stars without hesitation. We'll absolutely be back -- especially for those cookies.

We stayed in a kind bed suite room which gave us some extra elbow room. My ONLY complaint was the mattress. It curved in the middle so bad that I woke up with shoulder pain from leaning all night :-/ Our room 367, faced the main hwy but you couldn't hear traffic w/the window closed. These rooms have frig, micro, dishwasher, plates & cups so very convenient when traveling. The front desk staff was very friendly. Our check-in time was 3:00 pm, and we arrived around 3:30 pm with three tired kids hoping to settle in quickly. Unfortunately, our room wasn't ready, so we waited in the lobby. At 4:00 pm we were assigned a room, but it still wasn't finished -- no sheets on the beds, no pillowcases, crumbs in the sink, and hair in the bathroom like someone had recently shaved. It seemed like there was miscommunication between the front desk and housekeeping. We finally got into a fully cleaned room around 4:30 pm. After a long day of traveling with kids, it was definitely disappointing. That said, the staff members who were working truly made a difference. Joshua, who checked us in, was very apologetic. He was the only person working the front desk at the time. He stayed professional the entire time. A huge shoutout also goes to Edwin, who was working unbelievably hard. We saw him helping with rooms, assisting at breakfast, and keeping things running smoothly. His work ethic really stood out and he deserves recognition. Once we settled in, the hotel had lots of positives: The complimentary s'mores kits were a big hit with the kids. Each kit included four marshmallows, one Hershey's bar, and four graham crackers, wrapped in a festive Thanksgiving bag. The outdoor fireplace courtyard is huge and made the experience even better. This was especially great because the little town of Big Bear tends to close early, so having this activity at the hotel was perfect. The pool area was clean and well maintained, which is also perfect option for family with kids (just a way to entertain them while having fun). The complimentary breakfast was also surprisingly good. The waffles were awesome, and there were plenty of options like cereal, oatmeal, eggs, and potatoes. I would love to see a few more condiments added (like mayonnaise or mustard), but overall it was a great breakfast spread. The room layout was spacious, very comfortable, and perfect for a family. Despite the rocky start at check-in, the hotel has a lot of charm, great amenities, and truly hardworking staff members who care.

The first room we got didn't have a functional deadbolt lock. We tried calling the owners of the facility just for it to not go through like some of the other reviews say. Anyways, the older women who runs it came to check it out and unfortunately had the audacity in the broken English she spoke to just use the bottom lock. Yeah, idk about that lol. My girlfriend and I looked at each other just in disbelief. Fortunately, we were given another room Nextdoor. Typically, my girlfriend and I's routine is to go right to the AC and put it at a reasonable temperature. It did not work. We asked the older lady once again, and she slides over a dusty electric fan. Eek... aside from that, the beds were definitely uncomfortable too. Oh yeah, the fire alarms are detached and thrown into some drawers. I guess the only cool thing about this cabin was some old written diaries talking about the place since 97' when it was owned by the first people who rented out the cabins. Cool stories for sure. Hopefully these new people can fix up some things and make it to seem like what it was during the good'ol'days

It was huge and the water was always super hot and the shower was hot right when I got out of the tub. A little soap goes a very long way with bubbles, proceed with caution. The room and the spa were very clean, there was a sticker on the door with the name of the person and the date that our room was sanitized which was reassuring to me. Once inside it smelled clean and everything looked clean. I did take a bottle of Odoban and did a once over but it was during COVID paranoia. Whenever I stay anywhere I strip the bed and put on my own sheets and blanket but when tearing the bed apart our white linens were very white and clean. I read reviews about a rouge hair or two and myself having very long dark hair I find it silly that it would be a huge deal, even in the most immaculate environment one is bound to pop up, trust me, I know but I understand with COVID everyone needs to be on top of their game with cleanliness. I found the location to be really convenient, it was close to everything we wanted to do. We had several exchanges with the owner, we checked in after midnight and she was friendly and professional. Since we were both working remotely due to COVID we decided we wouod like to stay another night if they could accommodate us and she was very courteous and made the process easy and that extra night actually turned into 3 extra nights! I suppose one could find the rooms dated, I personally felt like they were cute and cozy and felt cabin like,I didn't mind the decor at all. We stayed in cabin 16, I was able to scope out 17 and has been updated recently and is more modern. They both cost the same so I would probably go with 17 it's really the best bang for your buck. Finding our cabin at night was fairly difficult if you are able to check in during the day I would definitely say do that. We eventually found our cabin, they all look the same and aren't marked terribly well. The parking is a bit tight I came straight from buying a new fairly expensive car so I had to park a few different times until I was satisfied I would avoid a door ding but that was probably new car paranoia and if you don't arrive after midnight like a dummy you'll probably have a better chance at choice parking. Once in the cabin I saw there was one of those QR codes on the wall for you to scan and when you do they offer a coupon code that can't be applied retroactively of course so I was kinda bummed by that because it only required a 3 day stay to receive the discount and we stayed over twice that long so perhaps it could have been offered. I found it online as well so before you book look online for coupon codes because they're available. I found booking straight from their website was less expensive than Expedia and the other travel sites. For the price I think this place is unbeatable. Just when you thought I was going to shut up I pop back up... I forgot to mention that one night a family checked into one of the family cabins and they were out until after 10 pm and they were loud eventually I called Cathy at the number she provides for you to call if you need anything and within 5 minutes she had sent someone to take care of the issue. I'm not sure if any of the cabins are pet friendly but I know that the one we stayed in was not and that was really the biggest issue we had. I have a 4 pound Yorkie with separation anxiety and he's grown quite accustomed to going everywhere with me so we had to hire a pet sitter and I really missed my Lil guy! I wish they allowed pets of a certain size with a deposit. Other than that I can't wait until it's time to go back. We went in the last week of April for my birthday and the weather was perfect. Not too cold but you still definitely get that mountain experience and since it's the off season everything is very affordable. Remember to look for that coupon code online and to book through their direct website and the price is unreal.
