Found this place at the last minute, for a weekend get away. Once we checked in, they immediately gave us these delicious homemade cookies. It reminded me of when you check into the Hilton and you receive the famous chocolate chip cookies. Our room was super cute, clean and comfortable. The room had a good heating system because we stayed warm and cozy all night. The only thing I would have liked to see in the room was bottled water for the keurig that's in the room. There were coffee pods, tea and cups but no bottled water. However, I suppose you could go into the main house to grab but it would have been nice to have it in the room. Overall, this was a great stay. I'm super picky and this place was well maintained, quiet and accommodating. As we checked out, I asked if I could purchase some of those delicious cookies. They don't sell any but Jamie was so kind and gave me some to go. Thank you Jaime! I'll definitely visit again in the future. read more

I am disabled. The wheelchair room has a shower and tub. How do I lift my legs over a tub? Addionally, there was no staff or owner on the premises after 5:00 pm. The coffee machine did not work but no one on premises to help. We needed a ironing board and iron, there was none in our room, again, no one on premises. When asked where to pickup free Trolley, staff did not know and did not try to find out. Also, every time I left a message on the main (and left messages) no one ever returned my calls. It was just one issue after another! We have stayed here on four occasions when it was under different management and there were no issues. read more

The gardens are gorgeous & well manicured. The scrapbooking facilities are perfect for a small to large groups. The staff provides yummy desserts, coffee, many tea and soda selections The bedrooms are comfortable and charming, decorated with a Victorian style. Always clean. We needed a place to stay while we visited family for the holidays and we had the best experience. We had our own private wing with three bedrooms for our family! The breakfast was next level and the kids meals were so creative with pancake snowman and pancake cars on a icing Road. They paid so much attention to detail. We left early one morning and they had a "ski meal" bag of breakfast and snacks. So great when we had to leave early. The workers were so kind and helpful. Cheers to the chef! I recently stayed at Apples Bed & Breakfast Inn for two nights, to attend a memorial/celebration of life service which was being held in the Inn's outdoor lawn and garden venue. My experience as both an overnight guest and an attendee at a special event was exceptional. Before booking my reservation on the website, I spoke with Jamie, the manager, by phone. I explained that I have limited mobility to go up and down stairs. He suggested two ground-floor rooms, either of which would be perfect for my needs. He was absolutely correct. My guest room was very spacious, and like the entire Inn, decorated in a charming, cozy decor, yet filled with contemporary amenities such as a Smart TV. The Inn has a comfortable living room area to sit and read, or chat with friends. There are a selection of teas, soft drinks and other beverages available at all times. When I was checking in, Jamie and the staff offered me homemade chocolate chip cookies. I reminded him I'm gluten-free. No problem, they had gluten-free chocolate chip cookies, too. I knew that a home-cooked breakfast would be included each morning, and an email from the Inn let me know that a gluten-free option is available with advance notice. I have Celiac disease, so it was a relief to know I could eat a tailored meal. The hot breakfast each morning in the charming dining room was made from scratch, abundant, delicious and they totally understand how to accommodate gluten-free or other dietary needs. The memorial was held outdoors in the beautifully manicured lawn and garden area, filled with colorful flowers, and honestly looked so beautiful, another attendee and I remarked that we felt we were going to a wedding. Laurie, one of the owners, along with her staff, catered the charcuterie grazing table along with an array of appetizers that were served by the friendly staff, complemented by a beverage station with a variety of choices. The setting is gorgeous, surrounded by pine trees, and includes a little brook, gazebo, and plenty of room for chairs and tables for the guests. There is also a paved walking trail right behind the Inn, which several of us enjoyed before leaving for our respective cities. Laurie, Jamie and the entire staff went out of their way to always check on me and the rest of our group who were staying there, whether to discuss restaurants in the village for dinner or ask how we enjoyed our tour of the lake. Laurie and Jamie were also very helpful to me in advance of my arrival by discussing with me which driving route would be the best to take from my city to Big Bear. There is plenty of on-site parking. Several of us are already talking about having a reunion each year at Apples Bed & Breakfast Inn. I am very much looking forward to it. read more

This past weekend I spent three nights at Apples and am having withdrawals now that I'm back to reality! It was my first visit but definitely not my last. The natural beauty alone is worth staying but the home cooked breakfasts obviously made with love were such a treat. I'm going to be calling Lora for multiple recipes! The team at Apples provided superior service and were just so friendly. And I still cannot believe how spotless everything was inside and out. The grounds full of blooming tulips are amazing and I'm looking forward to seeing them again very soon. We walked the beautiful path directly behind the inns property multiple times a day, enjoying nature and the sounds of a small running creek. Highly recommend this B & B for couples, families, and groups. It's in walking distance of restaurants, Walgreens and convenience stores. Plenty of parking onsite too! read more

Great, but let me get the negative out 1st, since people tend to not read until the end: We booked on their website, we received an email confirmation from them and it LITERALLY SAID "breakfast, afternoon tea with finger sandwiches, evening appetizers" We called to check on the times for these, because we were making reservations for different restaurants, for the 3 days we were there. They got irritated with the question, and said that they do not do the afternoon tea or appetizers, and that the 3rd party website they thought we booked on had No right to display these things, since they don't do them. I said that we booked thru their site, not an outside source, and the confirmation email we received was from their OWNER, with her name and phone # at the end of email. Apparently, we are the bad guys for asking!! Now for the good: It is a cute place, and breakfast was good, the room is big, although the actual bathroom is tiny, with a big dressing room/closet area. They have hot chocolate and cider, popcorn too. At breakfast the owner told everyone that leaving tips in the room is not good because then the maids get that money, to only leave tips in the tip jar on check in desk, so she can split them with the staff. This seemed odd, since most people want to tip their room's maid because they have to clean up our being slobs LOL!! read more

Had a wonderful 4 day stay last weekend with my scrapbooking gals. For being such a large group of ladies, the staff along with Jaime, the manager, were attentive, committed to filling our needs in a timely manner, and always available. The chef was great and I enjoyed all my meals for the stay. The quest have a recommendation list posted in their room in which I took advantage of for dinner two of my nights, both were excellent just as recommend. The Inn also has a hiking trail that's located north-east of the buildings in which I got to enjoy everyday of my stay. Location is handicapped accessible and has rooms on bottom floors as well as crafting space for handicapped needs. Can't wait until my next visit. ;-) read more

I just spent the weekend here at a photo cropping retreat. The staff are wonderful and kind and friendly and wanting to ensure every need and want is met. The room was very comfortable as were the beds and the fireplace in our room added so much to the ambience. The food was yummy, and they made every effort to accommodate my dietary needs. We found this gorgeous spot last minute, and it was the perfect escape. After a long, exhausting day of snowboarding, we walked in to be greeted by the warmest smile and the most welcoming host, who gave us a personal tour and showed us to our room (shoutout to Jaime who was amazing making our stay perfect). The lobby was the ideal place to unwind, with the scent of fresh popcorn filling the air as we sank into a rocking chair, reliving the day's adventures. This was my first time at a bed and breakfast and it was fabulous!! The house itself was adorable and so clean and well kept. The Christmas decorations were still up and I loved it!! My husband and I enjoyed the delicious breakfast among the gorgeous table setting and all the guests. Each room was romantically lit and so charming with a gas fire place which was perfect while watching movies in the room. They offered a large library of DVDs to chose from. My family and I just stayed here and it was very nice! The attention to detail is noticeable upon entering the lobby. Rae was so polite and helpful and made sure we had what we needed. The included breakfast was gourmet and the service impeccable! My family and I felt so comfortable. Ana waited on us and made sure we were happy with breakfast, she was so hospitable. Another shout out to Michelangelo who made sure we had a lamp during city wide power outage. We had an amazing 3 night stay at the B&B. The rooms were beautiful with comfortable beds and a big screen TV. When we checked in we were greeted by the owner Laurie who gave us homemade delicious cookies and a small tour. The Christmas decorations made you feel that you were in someone's home. The open soda/tea/hot chocolate area was a nice touch. Popcorn in the afternoons was also yummy. The breakfasts were scrumptious and they accommodated my husband's vegetarian preferences. We stayed in the Golden Delicious room. On website states fridge in the room & that was wrong. We had snacks that we had to trash & medicine required to be in the fridge. In the living room is popcorn maker with fresh popcorn & free sodas. Tea. Microwave. Breakfast is 9 am sharp. Backyard is beautiful. Bed & Breakfast is quiet & relaxing. Very pretty grounds that are well kept. Our rooms were not ready on time and our conference room was not ready on time and we paid extra for both . That is very disappointing and I feel we should've been compensated. Some of the breakfast foods were not to my liking , offering 2 different menu options would be great. There wasn't enough of some food items at lunch and we had to inform staff about it but were told they were out of them. There were some interactions with the property manager that were unpleasant. I'm very happy with my stay here, Jaime especially was friendly and accommodating. We were able to check in early and he made sure to note my vegetarian request for breakfast. The employee that served us in the morning also made sure to honor that. We stayed in Mollie's Delicious in the main house and we had access to a little pantry at no extra charge in the living room with cold drinks which was really a pleasant surprise. I didn't have any issues with the room smelling weird or anything unclean, and the fireplace was so cozy. The sheets were super soft and I slept really well. It was a short drive to the village where we picked up dinner and there's a Walgreens, Vons and Stater Bros close by if you need anything. I truly have no complaints, only high praise and high hopes to come back and stay again, will try to experience the other rooms read more

Just don't. There are so many other cuter, cleaner, and much friendlier accommodations in Big Bear Lake. The owner of Apples, Laurie, is obtrusive and uncomfortable to be around. The entire place is outdated and to be honest, very creepy. The breakfast is cheap and not worth eating. I've never had worse allergies in my life. I'm guessing the mattresses are older than me, they felt like it anyways. This place is in dire need of renovations and updating. It's not quaint. It's just old and rundown. read more

Just came home from a 4 day / 3 night retreat at Apples with my cross stitching friends (our second) and everything about it was terrific. Rae (the new manager) was a pleasure to work with (I was the coordinator). We were doing a LOT of last minute shuffling, adding an extra day due to some late season snow concerns, and Rae made it all work. A nightly dessert, a daily breakfast, and a box lunch one day were part of our retreat package, and there was not a single item that didn't taste amazing. Every breakfast came with an egg dish, a bread dish, fruit, a breakfast meat, and a fruit/yogurt parfait. The rooms are cozy, the crafting rooms are comfortable and set up perfectly. I almost hate to post this review....I am afraid other crafting groups might snatch up the dates! read more

I visited this place and made a reservation for the weekend as I find the bed and breakfast concert unusual. Left my bag and returned about an hour later to meet "Jaime" who then says "policy" prevents him from checking me unless the "rules" are met. That's fine but what shocked me is that he then said I could stay in Starbucks! I guess that's what you call blatant disrespect b/c for any accomodations provider to suggest a coffee shop as though one has no choice in terms of holiday accomodations is just pathetic . read more

This was by far one of the worst rooms we have ever rented smells like an old grandmothers room not very well-maintained the TV took us almost half an hour to figure out how to use it because they didn't instruct us that they don't have cable TV no air-conditioning all over the building if you're visiting this place in the summer do yourself a favor go to motel six the hostess very rude maybe because they had a problem pronouncing our names shame on them The only decent thing about this facility was the backyard do not be fooled renter beware you will waste your money not to mention me and my lady got beat eight times each while we stayed in the golden delicious room specifically those green arm chairs beware of those that breakfast menu they provide cost them less than five dollars IHOP has better breakfast and what they provide read more

Lemme tell you something, just the greeting alone was very welcoming especially with the smells in here. My entire group was shown around the property and were explained the many amenity's here.
