This was such a lovely place to stay. I got the one bedroom condo with partial lake view. Check in was super easy and my room was ready very early. The whole staff was very friendly. It's quiet and mellow. Parking is easy and convenient. I don't need AC so I didn't care but it's worth noting they don't have it. They do have heat, although I didn't use it or test it out. My unit was very big and thoughtfully furnished. Plenty of seating in the living room and at the dining table. There's a decent amount of counter space for meal prepping. The patio came with a table and chairs, but I couldn't use mine. For some reason the insect screen was taken off and leaning against the sliding glass door, and I had a swarm of a few dozen mosquitoes waiting to come inside as soon as I pulled it open. If I had been staying longer, I would have asked them to fix it, but I didn't think it was worth the hassle for a single night stay. There's a decent amount of lighting everywhere so it feels cozy at night. I liked that there was a sink in the bedroom as well as the bathroom, that will come in handy when shared by two or more guests. The bed and pillows were comfy, and extra blankets were left in the wardrobe. There's a lot of closet space if you're settling in for a while. The water pressure in shower is the standard trickle you get at any hotel so it takes a while to wash. But there's a curved shower rod for more shower space. The water temperature is a little fickle. Hot water comes easily but I couldn't get any cold water from the sink and it was hard to cool my shower down. The condo was pretty clean, with the exception of a cobweb full of dozens of dead insects on the high ceiling, and the bed skirt desperately needs a wash. Hotels probably shouldn't have fabric bed skirts. Otherwise, I was happy with the hygiene. There's an indoor pool and spa, as well as an outdoor spa. All are lovely. The outdoor spa has a beautiful view of the lake. I didn't use the rec rooms, but there are also some table games, board games, and movies for rent. The hotel has daily event calendars which are very cute. The front desk sells snacks and toiletries. It's all just so THOUGHTFUL. I really got the sense that they put more thought than most hotels into what will be helpful for guests and make it a better experience instead of just dazzling you. It made me happy to spend a lot of my time on the property. There's a covered picnic bench area on the lake that I really enjoyed using at mealtimes. Benches are placed all around the property to enjoy the views. There's a park with a playground for kids. They have a private dock and they rent different kinds of boats by the hour: kayak, canoe, paddle board, motorized. There's a tiny little sandy beach area with a beautiful view. Lots of squirrels and ducks. The property seems well-maintained. I'd recommend this lodge to anyone coming to Big Bear. I already know I'm going to book it again on my next trip.

Close proximity to the downtown area. Had snow yesterday and the next day, the main walk way was cleared of snow. Staffs were great. Activities available per day. Bbq area available. Jacuzzi for 18 and over. Main heated pool. Play area and small gym. Our room had the best view. March 1-3,2025

My family has been enjoying Lagonita Lodge for over 20 years as timeshare holders, and we've always loved the gorgeous lake views, fun activities for both kids and adults, indoor pool and spa, and the outdoor adult pool. The rooms with full kitchens are a huge perk and have kept us coming back year after year. However, the front office staff and some recent policy changes have definitely caused frustration. One issue in particular is the new pool towel system. In previous years, towels were easily accessible, but now you have to check them out at the front desk. This wouldn't be a problem if they kept enough on hand--but that hasn't been our experience. On our recent stay, we walked to the office already dressed for the pool, only to be told no towels were available and to come back later. After heading back to our room in the cold, we called about 20 minutes later to ask when towels would be ready and if they could bring some to the pool (which is very close to the office). We were told they'd be ready shortly, but delivery wasn't an option unless it was to the room--which didn't help since we were already heading to the pool. When a member of our group went back to the office, the staff acted confused and said towels still weren't ready, suggesting we use our bath towels instead. Thankfully, a kind worker stepped in and said he had just folded some and would grab them for us. The woman at the desk then said, "It'll be faster if you follow him and don't just wait here," which felt unnecessarily rude. The pool area needs updates and more seating. As a family who pays into the timeshare and also has relatives who book additional nights at hotel rates, we expect better customer service and a friendlier front office experience. The recreation staff was wonderful and helpful as always, but the main office staff--who are the first point of contact--could definitely use improvement. We love Lagonita Lodge and hope to keep coming for many years, but better communication and customer service from the front desk would make a huge difference.

Escape to this great lakeside retreat where nature meets comfort. Make sure to get a bear view. A lake view does not guarantee a lake view (odd huh) Nestled on the shores of BigBear lake, this resort offers breathtaking views, cozy accommodations, and endless activities for all seasons. I stay here when I come snowboarding. Relax by the water, indulge in gourmet dining, or explore hiking trails, water sports, and spa services, some of those activities are summer activities. Perfect for couples, or a friend's getaway seeking tranquility and adventure in an unforgettable setting. The village is only a quick mile away. This place also a great friendly staff.

This place is a sparkling gem, home away from home. We stayed three nights and were upgraded to a lake view. Rooms are comfy, clean and large. Appreciated the coat closet, pantry, and dishwasher. Also, the basket with coffee, tea, hot chocolate, salt, and pepper was a kind gesture. Loved being able to cook some healthy meals while on vacation in the fully equipped kitchen. The gas fire place in the living room was beautiful and cozy. The beds were comfortable. The shower was great and had all the bath products. We also really enjoyed the Recreation Room, Work Out Room, and Pool. From check in to check out everything was a breeze. I definitely recommend staying here.

We had stayed here twice and enjoyed it each time. Friendly front desk assisted us with check in. Made it quick and easy upgrading us to a room overlooking Big Bear Lake at no additional cost. Room had a full kitchen so you are able to get groceries and cook, which saves you money from eating out. Very nice and clean, but one problem there's no a/c during summer. It can get hot! At night is beautiful! So calm and peaceful. I had sat outside on the balcony stargazing while drinking a glass of wine. Absolutely magical! There's a small indoor pool your family and kids can enjoy. Upstairs to that is a rec room with games and pool tables. Nice to also just stroll around the property with views of the lake. My family and I will most likely to return in the future.

Us enjoying the view from the docs

This place was such an incredible place to stay with my husband and toddler. The room really did exceed our expectation, a whole little space to ourselves with a great view of the lake from our room. Access to the docs if you want to fish, boat rides and just watch the view and a little playground. Theres a family rec room with pool tables and below was a heated indoor pool and jacuzzi as well as a mini gym. So many activities throughout the week, make sure you get the calendar at front desk! Staff was great but I want to say especially Cindy and Roxanne were so amazing. They made every activity that was happening in the family rec room such a great experience. From the breakfasts in the mornings to the arts and crafts, they were total sweethearts with all the work they put into making it a great experience for us and everyone else around us. This lodge was such a great place since we usually do cabins. We are definitely coming again as a little family making this our go to spot to stay! May 2-4

I deeply enjoyed my stay at this lodge. The Lagonita, near Big Bear was a great find of mine. The front desk greeted and appreciates ones hospitality. The room is well keep. There a non-smoking facility with dissented smoking areas. Pool, hot tube, propane grill and exercise equipment available. All elements to the room could be found within the unit. Dishwasher, iron and dustpan, just to name a few. It's a sore eye to see the lake; Its spectacular. Posted: Five trout per licensed fisher & age requirement of sixteen. The temperature will drop upon the night's arrival but, there's a fireplace for good measure. Highly recommended for a debate

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!!! You really can't complain with where your located literally maybe a 5 minute drive to downtown Big Bear which is a big plus, about a 5 minute drive to Boulder Bay Park and a 10 minute drive from grocery stores. Locations wise it was perfect in my book. Amenities: spent most of my time down at the docks, beautiful views and so peaceful. Very big and spacious game room. Pool and jacuzzi was by appointment only which was nice we were the only people there only thing I wish the adult jacuzzi was open. Our room was very spacious could of easily fit another couple with us. When staying more than a couple days it's so nice to have your own kitchen. I knocked one star because when I got to town I called ahead and asked if my room was ready they told me it was so I went straight to the lodge to find out my room was not ready? Also it could of been a bit cleaner. On our last day we were packing up somethings heard a knock at the door at 9:30am it was a cleaning lady when check out wasn't until 12pm so I was a bit confused there. Overall, I would stay again the price you pay for this location and the amenities is such a great deal!

Easy parking and EV charging available, which is a huge bonus. Janet, Maddie, and Louie greeted us and were absolutely amazing. Genuine, welcoming, and thoughtful. They even gifted us complimentary mugs and were so kind to our son, giving him a patch for his jacket or hat. That kind of hospitality stands out. And the freshly baked s'mores cookies? Unreal. They made us feel right at home, which was a great way to start our stay. We booked a room with two queen beds, a fireplace, and a balcony. The lobby is nice, and the hotel has a spacious breakfast area along with an on-site restaurant. Our room was on the first floor, though, and the balcony overlooked someone's backyard, so we didn't really get to enjoy sitting outside. That was probably the biggest disappointment. The room itself was comfortable enough. The beds were decent, and it looked like some of the decor had been updated. The bathroom, however, could definitely use some work. There were patched areas on the walls, cracked baseboards, and it felt a little worn. The hallways could also use a refresh. The game room was a nice surprise. It had a pool table, ping pong, foosball, a few board games, and vending machines. There's also a small outdoor pool and jacuzzi, which looked like a nice place to relax. Breakfast was included and had a good variety of options, which we appreciated, especially on a busy holiday weekend. Overall, while parts of the hotel felt a little dated and even a bit creepy in places because of the older chateau style, we still enjoyed our stay. For the price we paid during one of the busiest weekends of the year, it was a good value. A few updates would make a big difference, but the excellent customer service and included breakfast definitely left a positive impression.

Finding our cabin at night was fairly difficult if you are able to check in during the day I would definitely say do that. We eventually found our cabin, they all look the same and aren't marked terribly well. The parking is a bit tight I came straight from buying a new fairly expensive car so I had to park a few different times until I was satisfied I would avoid a door ding but that was probably new car paranoia and if you don't arrive after midnight like a dummy you'll probably have a better chance at choice parking. Once in the cabin I saw there was one of those QR codes on the wall for you to scan and when you do they offer a coupon code that can't be applied retroactively of course so I was kinda bummed by that because it only required a 3 day stay to receive the discount and we stayed over twice that long so perhaps it could have been offered. I found it online as well so before you book look online for coupon codes because they're available. I found booking straight from their website was less expensive than Expedia and the other travel sites. For the price I think this place is unbeatable. Just when you thought I was going to shut up I pop back up... I forgot to mention that one night a family checked into one of the family cabins and they were out until after 10 pm and they were loud eventually I called Cathy at the number she provides for you to call if you need anything and within 5 minutes she had sent someone to take care of the issue. I'm not sure if any of the cabins are pet friendly but I know that the one we stayed in was not and that was really the biggest issue we had. I have a 4 pound Yorkie with separation anxiety and he's grown quite accustomed to going everywhere with me so we had to hire a pet sitter and I really missed my Lil guy! I wish they allowed pets of a certain size with a deposit. Other than that I can't wait until it's time to go back. We went in the last week of April for my birthday and the weather was perfect. Not too cold but you still definitely get that mountain experience and since it's the off season everything is very affordable. Remember to look for that coupon code online and to book through their direct website and the price is unreal.

Horrible experience. Won't be back. Reserved one room upstairs with a patio/balcony. Was given a…read moreroom on the street with a narrow 4 steps to the cabin. No porch or anything. We complained and was told that they had the right to change us. It's not in their written policies anywhere. This room was substandard, especially to the one we actually booked. The mini blind were threaded, broken and dirty the table was beat up and not stable, the cost rack was in front of the window. And was not stable to move plus that was the only place to hang clothing. No drawers The mini sofa at the end of the bed was torn and poked your behind if you sat on it. Everything is done by text message, yet conflicts aren't resolved. It was our ;9 wedding anniversary. We were deeply dissapointed after reading other's posit reviews. We won't be back

I absolutely loved that there was a spot to do yoga or other movement classes! If you want to do a complete wellness day, you can take your mat to this beautiful open deck area (where your mat is shaded) and you have some mirrors. Once you finish your class, there's a sauna and cold plunge available to use to complete the perfect session! I didn't get to use the lodge much as I was visiting solo this time, but would love to use that nice big kitchen and the pool table next time This place is not super big, so everything is very walkable and in close proximity to each other! You can drive, walk, or even ride your bike to other restaurants and activities near by if you aren't too busy playing corn hole or lounging in the hammocks

Frank, the owner, is one of those rare people who is truly hands-on and genuinely cares about his guests. From the moment we arrived, he was communicative, kind, and incredibly attentive. You can tell this isn't just a business to him -- it's personal. What really stood out was his integrity. During our January stay, he went above and beyond to make sure our family was comfortable and taken care of, and he generously invited us back again in February. That level of hospitality and follow-through is something you just don't see often anymore. The space itself is peaceful, cozy, and perfect for a Big Bear getaway, but honestly, it's Frank's heart and character that make the place special. If you're looking for somewhere you can trust -- not just a place to sleep -- this is it. We'll definitely be back.
