For bikers hikers and walkers... pet friendly from easy to hard, this trail will definitely be enjoyable. Park at ralphsl b Clark Regional Park on the street access side. Across from fire engine building. Cross the street and begin. Once finished, you see a cross street, go over and .5 miles away, you'll see to the right an entrance to continue. Another park is attached and leads to another major park. Return back , run time round trip 1 hr.. bike 30 min and walk 2 hours. Just great views and excellent terrain.

This is my new favorite trail. First timer and it had a lot of inclines which I love for my cardio workout. The trail keeps going and going. Different ways to get in and different starting points. I started the trail next to the fire station. It had lots of shade but do take your water if you love bike riding this is the spot too. Park your car next to the golf area because GPS takes you to the residential neighborhood.

Castlewood Trail is one segment of a network of trails in Fullerton. Was hoping for a moderate hike when our family took us here. Although there are a couple of little inclines on this short dirt trail, I would rate this trail more easy than moderate. There was an assortment of folks using the trail. Some walking, some jogging, and some on their mountain bikes. Make sure to be aware of your surroundings. I almost got run over by a guy on his mountain bike. Would I hike on this trail again? Probably will. Hopefully, will have more time available to hike some other trails in addition to this small segment. Not very scenic, but makes for a good workout.

30 mins trail, and no good parking at either end. Kinda boring On the south end entrance next to the fulleton fire dept # 6 you can probably park across the street at Ralph b . clark park and walk 5 mims to the entrance From the north end, it shoots out into a residential area, which to be honest i dont know if there are signs restrictions for non residents.

So we've been on a quest to get in shape and hike someplace new every week. My only criteria are that there is pretty scenery and that the length will allow me to 'warm up' for a mile or so while my calves get loose. ;-) I've been really surprised at how many biking & hiking trails are around North OC, it's been fun seeing all this new stuff. I chose Castlewood Trail from the city of Fullerton trails map randomly. Castlewood is a 'connector' trail and connects the Rosecrans and Nora Kutner Trails. It's 1.33 miles long and is a segment of the Fullerton Loop which is about 12 miles total (according to the map). It runs through a housing tract but still feels fairly 'woodsy', the views are nice when you get a little higher too. There were quite a few bikers on the trail, they were all very friendly and seemed like regulars. As far as parking, we were able to park at the very end of coyote hills road where it turns into a cul-de-sac. It was a nice easy hike, beautiful neighborhood too, I would want to go back when we can hike a longer stretch of the Fullerton Loop.

Take this trail if you're in the mood for a quick run or an intermediate, 1-hour hike round trip. I come here because it's fairly secluded from all the noise on Rosecrans and Gilbert. It trails attractively alongside a neighborhood, available if you want to admire the endearing homes, but thankfully you don't always get a view of them. You're going to encounter runners, bikers and hikers along this trail. It features a gratifying share of inclines and the trail ranges from sandy to solid dirt ground. Along the trial, you'll be whisked away by seclusion, a white picket fence and "No Trespassing" signs telling you how to live your life. I would suggest taking this trail around early evening to get a glimpse of the sunset. It's not a spectacular view of Fullerton and La Habra, but it's not bad. I like to park along Ralph B Regional park on Rosecrans and take a quick run to the beginning of the trail, neighboring the fire station. This requires me to jaywalk, so take caution when approaching both ways. On the trail, you'll also uncover three benches nestled conveniently under some shaded trees. Catch a blissful respite here if want to catch a breeze. I believe this trail can continue, if you catch a few sidewalk trails and pedestrian crossings.

Nice short hike. Pretty scenery. Port o potties along the park side of the trail. There is hand sanitizer in them also. Great for a morning walk.

Nice short easy trail. You're right behind homes for the most part so nothing too wild. Good to jog or take a leisure walk.

A nice hiking trail located behind many people's homes. It's a moderate trail and it's prettier in the late afternoon.

The big deal here is to take photos adjacent to the large water fountain. This is an extremely popular photo location, as over 100 students here in formal wear from various high schools. Parking was very limited at that time, so plan ahead if you're going early. Clearly, a lot of people know this is the spot for a serious workout. The stairs themselves are brutal in the best way possible. After about three rounds, my legs were completely done--but it's such an effective workout. This place really gets your cardio in fast, and you feel accomplished every time you finish a round. The views along the way make it even more worth it. We also came back later in the day around 5:30 PM. It starts to get a bit dark around that time, so that's something to keep in mind, but it's still a great experience and totally worth it. Overall, if you're looking for a challenging, fun, and effective outdoor workout, Hillcrest Park stairs deliver every time. Just be ready for sore legs and limited parking during peak hours.

The display also showed $5 for weekends and $3 midweek. We wanted to do the Redwood trail and were directed to parking lot A. The park is big and beautifully landscaped with a pond and various picnic areas that can be rented in advance. There is enough space to set up all kinds of games. We brought a picnic lunch and sat on a bench that was perfectly situated alone amongst the desert plants. After lunch, we followed the signs for the Redwood Grove Trail which was labeled as easy and is a 1.5 miles dirt trail to the Redwood trees. When you arrive you'll see a small Redwood forest with the history of the trees displayed before you enter. A really beautiful and peaceful spot to relax for a bit. On our way back we decided to take the Creek Trail to see where it would lead us. I was hoping to see water at the end of this trail. But, we only saw a bunch of rocks at one point that may be filled with water if it rains. The end of this trail did lead us to a beautiful butterfly garden and the opposite end of the park. We made the walk back and stopped at the pond. There appeared to be other trails surrounding the park and a trail that leads to the Carbon Canyon Dam.
